Really amazing tour!! We had tour guide John (Captain John) and he was great. Very friendly guy with a lot of fun facts, stories, and jokes!! Definitely would recommend for kids, but adults can have just as much fun. We saw a manatee, a gator, and a couple cool birds along the way, too! Definitely check it out if you're in the area! read more

Seriously how hard can it be? Seven people just going out on the water enjoying the day for three hours . I think this is where captains go when they lose their license! We literally bumped two boats, and it was "funny". I was with my 4 grandchildren. The boat had a broken propeller so we were 20 minutes late going out. Yet they were calling at 4 o'clock, telling the driver to get back. Then the boat ' owner" was a complete jerk.. I mean it was a beat up old boat we didn't do anything wrong!! Just a shit experience!! Such a shame!!! We paid $ 840. For 3 hours. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!!!! read more

I have to say we were left feeling deflated.while we were told nothing was guaranteed and the captain really tried to find animals, we saw a snout of a manatee and a small gator. nothing else for a 3 hour tour. was too much $ for that. bummed especially with two young children aboard. Edit: correct company. It was under Kristin S. read more

Captain Becky worked very hard to try to find unpredictable wildlife! At first the manatees were "hiding" and we only had a small glimpse. Then we headed out toward the island and we saw a mother and calf. We also saw a juvenile gator on the shore, juvenile blue heron, roesette bird, osprey, and dolphins. She was very knowledgeable and even adjusted plans when the weather patterns affected our tour. Overall - great experience- would have loved to see more manatees but captain Becky can't control nature! read more

Weather has been cold so manatee sightings were not good... only three. Captain tried hard, but was not successful. Might go back later in season when it would be a better time to see them read more

We didn't make it, because we followed the directions from their website! We were told that we could reschedule for 50% of our original tour. We wasted almost $300 and had very disappointed teenagers! read more

No promises but if you don't see any you can return Calm back waters so no motion sickness Small covered boats so you can easily have it to yourself as a family No signs from the road, turn right at first chance No one welcomes you, you kind walk around and search Go inside building for restrooms Wait outside by the picnic table for the captain although we had to search and ask Groupon deals read more

This tour was disappointing. The boat ride was pleasant enough, but too much time was spent going in circles looking for manatee noses coming to the surface. After seeing 2 - 3, it would have been better to cruise the river and look at other things. The tour advertised seeing dolphins and alligators. I understand that wildlife doesn't always cooperate, but our guide told us it was pretty rare to see those. They shouldn't have advertised like it was common. The cost was too high for what was offered. read more

Highly recommend!! This is our second time going on this tour and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Captain John is AMAZING! The tour is that much more because of Captain John. We saw so many manatees, birds, alligators, a shark, and beautiful sites! We had the pleasure of meeting Captain Allyn who made us feel super welcome! We will definitely be back! read more

I would recommend going on this tour only if you are ok with possibly not seeing what you hope for. My wife and I had a great time going out on the boat. The captain was super nice and very knowledgeable about the wild life that we saw. If I'm honest though we were disappointed that we didn't get to see a manatee very well. We saw it's nose sticking out of the water from a distance but couldn't really see it much. The water was shockingly black when we went and hard to see things very well. Maybe that is due to the time of year? We went in January. This is a fun tour just keep in mind you might not see what you are hoping for or see it super well. read more

What a great time with Captain John! On trips like these habing a great Captain can really make it or break it. He was really fun to be around and knowledgeable on the area. Now... to the trip! - WE SAW MANTEES. We also got lucky and got to see a baby riding with momma! How cool! First time seeing wild ones! Pretty cool to be honest. Also took a trip to see BullSharks which we managed to see one! Oh yeah, on the way in we saw a gator! Lol. I love Florida. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this excursion!!! This sightseeing boat trip added so much excitement to our florida trip! Captain Allen was so informative and knew the best locations to look for manatees, alligators, and other wildlife, including certain birds, fish, and sharks! During our excursion, we saw over 6 manatees, many alligators, as well as a bull shark and other wildlife, like different types of birds and fish that are native to Florida! Below are many different photos that were taken during our boat trip including some photos of gators and manatees. The boat ride was 90 mins long (plenty of time to see different types of wildlife) and the boat has a fully covered top so you don't have to worry about getting super burnt during your trip. The price of the excursion itself is extremely reasonable as well. Most definitely recommend this wildlife excursion if you want to see some wild animals along with some beautiful scenery in the everglades! read more

This is probably the only or one of the only tours southwest of Ft. Myers focused on seeing manatees - at least out of the ones I could find. I had already gone to Manatee Park and saw a bunch of manatees (not too well), but wanted to see them out on a boat instead. We used a Groupon offer for this tour and followed the map directions to the address listed, but must have missed the building because we couldn't find it at first and didn't know the address is for a storefront. We ended up at the resort kind of lost and called the tour number, where we were told to go to the tables with the umbrella next to the store. It was just a bit confusing finding the place at first, since the person on the phone didn't tell us which dock letter to go to, as the docks were all lettered around the marina. Eventually, we figured it out and were surprised to find that we were the only ones on our tour. There was another boat operating from this company with a full boat, so we really were lucky to be on the private one, even though the captain might not enjoy losing out on more tips by having us 2 only. If I could do this again, I would go at an earlier time and also at a lower tide. We went at 2:30pm at high tide, so we ended up only seeing 2-3 manatees after searching for more than an hour. Wish there were mentions on the website of when the best times to see more manatees are (as in high sighting criteria and factors), but then this company might not get business during those worse times. I probably should have done the research myself anyway before booking. You're guaranteed to see manatees very close up on this tour. It's just the quantity and clarity that may be different for everyone depending on lots of factors. The good thing is that we were provided with polarized sunglasses, which we also didn't know was ideal for viewing manatees. If only I had known about this to pack a pair for Manatee Park... We also saw a couple alligators throughout the trip and tarpon movements in the water. I'm glad our captain made sure we saw some manatees at least, even though we were unlucky for at least the first hour. Because there was another boat at the same time, the captains worked together to communicate where the manatees were, making it easier/faster to find them once they were located. read more

Very expensive. Our guide was very good. Tour was boring. Basically boated through residential areas and only saw manatees under docks. Was definitely not a manatee sightseeing tour. Been to better. read more

I researched before I booked this tour, including how long it takes to get there from North Naples (about an hour) and what it involved. This is a guided tour in a pontoon boat with no more than six passengers. Now, I love manatees. I have an awesome manatee sculpture and my former brother-in-law spent a year in south Florida studying migration and breeding of manatees in rising sea levels and water temperatures for his PhD in statistics. Asleep yet? Me, too.... But these baked potato sea cows are gorgeous. The day before the excursion we got a text saying one of the captains was ill and offered us two optional time slots. It worked out fine for us to take a later slot; we easily made our dinner reservation. We had good weather for the end of April, breezy and warm with some clouds, so we packed up the camera and some water (remember to bring water) and headed South on 41. When you drive into the port and find a parking spot, you look for the manatee excursions. It was a Sunday, so the closed office had a sign reading "Manatee excursions meet by the picnic tables." RC and I sat at a table and after a few minutes we saw a returning pontoon. The captain waved us over and we boarded with a couple from Michigan. The four of us had the pontoon to ourselves and we quickly got to know each other. Our captain was Captain Storm, who proved to be a charmingly garrulous storyteller punctuating educational manatee facts with groaner dad jokes. It was delightful. Now the tour website and our captain made it clear we might not see any manatees. They're animals, you know, in the wild and may not appear on cue for your tour. The colder months are better for spotting them. That's not to say your captain won't do everything in their power to try to find them. We lucked out. Not only did we see A manatee, we saw three AGGREGATES of five manatees! Captain Storm kept remarking that he had never seen this many in one area. We actually never left the residential Bay Area nor did we head toward the gulf because all the manatees we needed to see in our ninety minutes were right there. It was spectacular. I highly recommend this tour if you want to kill a few hours observing nature at its finest. Captain Storm will educate you well on breeding, feeding, and habits of the manatees. Just don't forget to tip generously! read more

We are so grateful for Alan (spelling), and his intense desire to find Manatees for our grandchildren to see! He explained so much to them about the manatees, their needs and wants and the history of them. He told the children about their habitat, eating habits and so much more! After searching, he was not willing to give up until he found a family to show us! We calmly saw them as they traveled for a snack and then onward! The hosts of Manatee Eco Tours were awesome! We were greeted at the dock by the owners Captain Barry and his lovely wife Carol, who offer the best small boat tours around. They showed us to our boat where we met Captain Andrew and First Mate Bella the Dachshund! Captain Andrew was very informative (and full of stories!), telling us about the manatees and wildlife and anything that we asked (and we ask a lot of questions!) and First Mate Bella just added to the experience. Of course we always miss our cats when we go away, so just having Bella onboard was nice! She saved our butts on one occasion when a gator decided to jump off of the beach and towards our boat. Even though Captain Andrew had everything under control, Bella proved to be a fierce first mate who takes her job seriously. Don't worry, she is rewarded generously with treats and belly rubs! Captain Andrew and First Mate Bella make a great combination and made our Manatee Ecotour experience memorable for sure! We were blessed to see a mom and calf manatee, along with many other manatees, gators, and crazy pretty birds along the way! 11:30 was the perfect time for us! If you are visiting the area, be sure to check them out!! I'm not usually one to book a tour as I consider myself to be a bit more on adventurous than planned activities... but wow am I glad I did. We booked the 3-hour trip at 9 am and couldn't have asked for more. The 3 hours was definitely worth it and the experience was well worth the cost. We had Captain Ed for our 3 person crew - all ladies in our twenties and thirties and we can not say enough good things about Captain Ed! It was the perfect mix for us of fun, chill, adventurous (you get to drive fast!) and interesting. We saw all kinds of marine life and birds, and the stop at the little beach was a perfect chance to get out and take some photos on a private stretch of sand. He made us feel very comfortable, safe, and taken care of. I would not hesitate to refer Captain Ed to any group and this company for making it easy, relaxed, and showing us a wonderful time. read more

My mom and I were visiting Marco Island and wanted to go on a manatee tour. We found Manatee Eco Tours on Groupon and scheduled our tour for a Saturday morning. It's located in the Port of the Islands Marina. It was only a 20 minute drive from Marco Island. There were only 6 people on our tour, which was nice. Paul was our tour guide. They give you sunglasses that make it easier to see under the water of the marina. The tour was very pleasant. Paul was very informative, telling us about the flora and fauna of the area. We didn't see any manatees on our tour, so our tour date and time were recorded, and we were invited back for a future manatee tour free of charge. read more

Captain was great. Only saw a mother and cub but was relaxing and great tour. Very knowledgeable guide and learned a lot of cool things.

It was a good time for a newbie First was rained out so we were booked for the next slot, same day. Typical Florida weather, no big deal. Only saw a couple gators, we did see a handful of manatee which is really why we went. So that was great! They were all in one spot at the beginning, the rest of the trip was a few birds, couple alligators Nothing real exciting. It was overcast and in and out of rain so I believe most were just hiding out Will do it again on a warm day without rain clouds messing things up. Matt was our guide. He was nice and kept us informed on the wild life and vegetation. Answered questions. read more

We had a very lovely private boat ride with Capt. Kent. It was a slow pontoon boat through some lagoons near the marina. This was a perfect ride to take with our one and a half year-old son. We saw manatees and alligators as well as birds. If you're expecting a fast airboat ride through the Everglades this is not the tour for you. We "won" a buy one get one free from our hotel, so we saved $38. As of writing this review there was only one other review which was very negative. I'm assuming that person was not able to the research before booking the tour. Our tour was as we expected. And I don't know why you'd be shocked that it's customary to tip the captain. You would tip a taxi driver. read more

We spent a chilly Christmas with Captain John and it was AMAZING! Despite it being rainy and about 40 degrees, his warmth, enthusiasm, wealth of information, and dad jokes made us forget the weather! We saw manatees, alligators, blue heron, ospreys, and SO many intriguing wildlife, and for each animal appearing he shared so many facts that were both amusing and informative. While experiencing the boat tour, we held gator heads, snake models, and even got to take home some beautiful handmade ornaments from his wife! Even after our trip, he was so gracious to check in if we lost a pair of sunglasses. His kindness and jolliness was above and beyond.
