This place is AWESOME! Captain Liz gave a phenomenal tour with a lot of information about alligators, mangroves, wildlife, history of the area, and more! There were a ton of birds and fish, Capt. Liz even stopped to point out an Eagle. We got to hold a baby Alligator afterward, that will go to a sanctuary when it gets older. The kiddos also had a blast and enjoyed the information and history too! They liked when the airboat went fast and took corners to make a splash. (We all did!) This was our first experience with Captain Mitch's Airboat Tours. We have been using a neighboring competitor for the past three years, but just wanted to try something different. It was pretty easy to reserve for six people for the next day. They were on time, our captain was friendly and knowledgeable about the mangroves, alligators, etc. We had a very nice tour of the area. The biggest differences with who we usually use: We didn't go super fast, spinning around, etc. like we are used to. That part was missed, but I know not all people want to do that. We were not offered headphones to muffle the loudness (that surprised us all, it is very loud). I noticed a couple on our boat had the foam ear inserts that they probably brought themselves. There was no alligator "show" before or after, but they do allow you to hold a small gator they keep in a tank inside. I feel bad for the gator and really hope it gets moved to a bigger space in the off hours. Hope this helps! read more

I will start off by saying that one of our party wanted an authentic experience. So I found this place because of their online ad. The prices were very fair to say the least compared to all the others. With the covid we did book a private boat just in case. Captain Duwayne was very knowledgeable and how he found his way through those mangrove trees was awesome. He expertly guided the air boat seamlessly, not once hitting any tree or branch. In all honesty, this was my first airboat tour. I did my homework and even though Mitch's had no reviews, all of the locals here in Naples told me Mitch's was the best! Well they must know...and you have to trust that just because some people advertise more and you may see some other airboat tour's name everywhere, doesn't make them the best. Mitch's has been in business a very long time...they share a nice story on their history on their website. Right off the bat, when we arrived, we were able to see a ginormous gator that "lives" underneath the store trying to keep shade. Pretty cool. Check out the website before you arrive...there is a $3 coupon per person and I just showed them a picture of it on my phone. Our tour guide was just terrific. He grew up in the Glades and he knows everything about the gators, the birds, the mangroves, and even the snakes. We crept around at first checking out the gator hangouts close by. And then, we got to really open up that airboat. I enjoyed zipping around in all that natural beauty with the wind in my hair. You may get a little gentle splash every once in a while but no bid deal. Just FYI, if you sit on the outside, you may get an occasional light whipping from the greenery as you brush by it but it didn't phase me, and that's coming from a girly-girl. No one should ever spend any of their hard earned money with Captain Mitch. He is an angry, dishonest man that despises the customers that put food on his family's table. Here's what happened on our recent visit. I had called to make a reservation about 12 days before our visit. On their website they had pricing of $40 for cash and $45 for credit card but if you said "Happy Easter" (it was "Let's go Brandon" in the Fall) they gave you an additional $5 off. I confirmed that it would be $35 each if I paid cash and said happy Easter for my family of five with the nice older lady who took my reservation. When I arrived for our tour, the cashier told me it was $45 for cash and $40 if I said happy easter. She would not budge when I explained that when I booked it was $35. I paid the $40 each but then I showed her on the website where it gave the prices I was quoted. She claimed it was a screenshot but I gave her my phone and let her scroll through. After a long time she came back and said she would give me a t-shirt. I told her very nicely that I didn't want a t-shirt but would like my $25 back. She said they can't give money back. The boat was waiting for us so she said she would take care of it when we returned. The airboat tour was pleasant going through the mangroves. I spotted a couple different alligators that the boat captain circled back for us to see and we saw birds. I was disappointed that we did not go over the grassy marshes like we had when I was a kid but just followed the paths between the mangroves. The kids got to hold a baby alligator on our return. When we returned Captain Mitch was waiting for me with his daughter and cashier standing behind him. He looked at me sternly and said, "I understand you have been harassing my girls. I can call the sheriff and have you removed from my property. " I couldn't believe what was happening. I said, "No sir, I just want you to honor the price I was quoted." He said, "If my wife had quoted that, she would have put a note on your reservation that you were getting the price before we raised our prices. But if you can pull up that price on our website, I will give you a refund." Now I wasn't born yesterday so I told him that his cashier had saw the price I had been quoted on the website and that I knew they probably changed the price on their website in the hour that we had been on the tour. The cashier handed me the $26 and change. Captain Mitch said, "I am sick of you GDamn liberals coming here and I want you to leave my property immediately and never come back!" (Not sure where the liberal came from. I am a Florida native!). It was so ironic that to get the $5 discount you had to say Happy Easter and he totally missed the whole reason for Easter! read more

Where to start? These people are terrible and disrepectful. We booked a private tour, paid $450 for the entire boat. We drove 2 hours from Venice to Everglade City to do this with relatives who were in from out of town over the holidays. When we arrived for our tour we went into the small building they have and we asked to use their restroom, and that was a mistake. The girl that ran the place told us we could not use it because it was not working. We asked if there was a port-a-pot we could use and that set her off and she got really rude and defensive. She immediately called the owner and said he would be right over to deal with the problem......seriously we just asked to use the restroom and we were a problem. The owner shows up and immediately tells us you people are out of here I'm refunding your money. We were completely shocked! who does that? read more

This was my first airboat ride, so I don't have much to compare it to. I liked the speed, enjoyed seeing the alligators up close, loved seeing all the birds take flight as we disturbed their habitat (especially the big herons). But I did not enjoy the amount of people on the boat asking stupid questions. I know it is the luck of the draw who else will decide to book the same tour. They got 12 of us on the boat. At least 3 were idiots. The guide did a good job of patiently answering questions about "if mangrove trees develop from coral" and "is that alligator tied to the tree." The guide did far better than I would have being patient with them. I would have paid more for a private ride! read more

There were not many other people on our boat - just a family of four in addition to us two - and that was quite nice: we were able to talk with the guide (at least when the engine was powered down! - those things are LOUD). The water was very high - a result of the tropical storm wannabe that had occurred a couple of days before. This cut down on the number of mammals visible, but that was no great hardship. We got to see a couple of alligators (and to hold a small one at the end of the trip). Our skipper, Jacob, was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and gave us an excellent tour of the mangrove and grassland swamp that seems characteristic of the Everglades. Our guide Louis was born and bred in the area so he was very knowledgeable about all the flora and fauna you see. Our boat had just 6 people, so it was a relaxing trip.
