We had a very enjoyable trip with Eco Endeavors on a Dolphin and Shell collecting trip (about 2 hours). We booked through Tripadvisor and the process was smooth and easy. Our original booking was cancelled as some stronger winds and cooler temperatures came in, and the trip would not have been pleasant. Disappointing of course, but preferable to a bad trip. Thankfully, we were able to find another day to venture out and everything was well organized, professional, and Captain Wes showed us a good time on the water. We noted that the crew put safety first. We first saw some dolphins, and Wes pointed out different behaviors, including hunting. He was knowledgeable about both the wildlife we were seeing and the areas we visited. The water was a little choppy this day and so we stayed in the back waters mostly, and could not go out to the dome houses at Cape Romano. We were told that the hurricane has largely submerged them at this point anyway. Shelling on Dickmans island was good, not the best we've done, but there were more shells than you could carry. Remember to bring your own net shell bag. The highlight was on the return with many dolphins, and some surfing the wake of the neighboring EcoEndeavors boat. I would recommend this tour to young and old. It's the perfect length of time and they packed in quite a bit of wildlife into this short trip.

Captain Jeff took us on a great tour, pointing out various birds along our route and providing some interesting facts. Once we got close to the shelling island, we saw several manatees as well as a handful of dolphins. The beach was a great place for the kids to wander and find shells. We even stumbled across a few crabs. Our kids had a great time and we all enjoyed the trip!

My wife booked this tour towards the tail end of our trip visiting our grandson, daughter and son in law. We met at the Eco Endeavor's office, shuttled to the Pier where we met Captain Robert our tour guide. I have to say that captain Robert went above and way beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Extremely knowledgeable with the history of the Thousand Islands, the wildlife and demonstrated excellence in navigating through the waters at low tide which could be dangerous or even fatal at times. We were taken to a small island were we were able to do some shelling and swimming in the Gulf. An hour or so later we met back at the boat where on our way back we saw a couple of dolphins. We also experienced two other dolphins that were following us Jumping out of the water and swimming along side of our boat for quite some time. I would highly recommend this tour.

We wanted to book a tour to see dolphins, some of the area sights and do some shelling. We found Eco Endeavors on the internet and we're able to book a private tour for the 10 of us. The tour started at a storefront in the larger Publix shopping center. It is a brand new store with restrooms and merchandise to purchase. In order to combat the parking situation at the dock area they shuttled us over in a brand new van. This was so very convenient for sure. The van driver was a great guy. Upon arrival to the docks were greeted by Chris our captain. He was a really great guy and we also had a local woman who is a marine biologist as part of the crew. Our 4 grandchildren were treated so well. On the way out to the gulf we were treated to a spectacular dolphin show as they come into the wake of the boat continuously. Everyone enjoyed how playful they were. Then out to the dome houses to see them. All the time we were get a great education on the marine biology and the surrounding area. We then went shelling and found a lot of very cool shells. Chris then took us into a small Bay Area and we were able to find many manatees in the water. Truly a spectacular morning It is apparent that the Eco Endeavor team love what they do and respect the environment. We learned s lot from them. We highly recommend them if you are considering a water tour!!

My family and friends had a great time on the dolphin and shelling excursion. It was everything we hoped for, and it was an experience I would most definitely do next time we visit Marco Island. Capt Robert and first mate Valerie were both a pleasure to have as our tour guides and boat operator. They both made us feel very comfortable from the moment we boarded the boat until the very end of the tour.

Captain Robert was amazing retired Navy and his 1st mate Valerie was super friendly and helpful. Both knowledgable about the area and wild life.

I'm so glad we did this activity while in Marco Island. The two women that were driving the boat were funny and made sure we got a good experience. The boat was equipped with some ice and beverages. They told us all about the different islands and history. We saw dolphins and they chased the boat, we saw manatees, went to the dome house and relaxed on the beach. It was such a great experience and amazing service. Highly recommend this boat tour!

Now this is the way to do it right. Get on the water with Captain Josh. He knows these waters and the stories behind the fish and animals that live here. Extremely knowledgeable, professional and a great skipper for your tour. In three hours you will learn and see more than you could figure out in a month of boating in the area by yourself. We took advantage of a private tour, Josh was waiting at the dock when we arrived at nine. We did shelling out on a private beach. We saw dolphins. We saw manatees. We saw all kinds of birds - Plus all the usual attractions that bring people to the waters off of Marco Island. We brought along some cold water and snacks and by noon we were back at the dock with a tremendous appreciation of the wildlife in this area. Eco Endeavors gets the double thumbs up when it comes to a terrific time on the water. Enjoy!

Turns out you just have to look for their truck in the parking lot. That wasn't made clear at the time of booking. It was a fine boat ride, but felt more like a water taxi than a tour. We saw dolphins on the way to go shelling which was neat... but so did every other boat in the vicinity. We only had about 1.5 hours to go shelling which wasn't nearly enough time. Keewaydin Island was beautiful but we didn't have time to enjoy it. After our boat taxi ride was over we tipped the driver $30. Mind you this ride didn't include food, drinks (other than water) or snacks. A day later we got an automated email asking us for a tip (if we hadn't already). Mind you we did NOT take a private tour- it was two groups of 3 people. The email said: "If you have not tipped * Boat captains often rely on tips as a significant part of their income, particularly in the tourism industry where tipping is customary. A 20% gratuity or Minimum of $100 per Captain on Private tours is customary for this type of tour. If the captain was amazing feel free to tip more." Excuse me? We paid $370 for 2 adults and 1 child for a less than 3 hour excursion to Keewaydin Island. They were expecting an additional $50-$75 in tips? This was by far the most expensive boat "tour" we've been on, and we've done many- Italy, Mexico, Zimbabwe, Hawaii, California, Maine, and three others in Florida. I wrote the company an email bc they send out 2-3 emails afterwards asking you to leave a review... and if it's not 5 stars to email them directly. They never responded. Two sets of my in-laws were wanting to go on a tour in the coming weeks and we told them both not to waste their money on Sand Dollar Shelling. So now I'm telling you too.

At about $600 for our group of 6, we thought it was expensive, but you only live once, right? Well, now that our vacation is over and done with, I can say that that was the best $600 ever spent! First off, we had a private tour. After doing research, other excusion companies were charging the same or more, and you were on a boat with a bunch of other people you didn't know. It was just our little group of 6 and our captain on this boat. Second, we saw dolphins. Dolphins doing it. I didn't know that was on my bingo card, but here we are! It's pink. That's all I'm sayin'. Third, and the most exciting, we saw a manatee! Sure it was only one, but after Captain Jeff explained that we might not see any, and also why that might be, we were ecstatic and thankful. Lastly, the shelling. We didn't find anything spectacular, like a sand dollar, but we all found nice, intact, beautiful shells of different kinds that will forever remind us of this awesome trip. Captain Jeff was not only friendly, he was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the animals. We learned a lot and had fun at the same time. Highly recommend!!!! 124/2025
