Spent six hours fishing near shore with no catch over 20 inches. Fishing equipment was subpar, broken guides, insufficient line on reels etc. Boat, the "Fun Fisher" was also subpar. Since it was not equipped with power pole equipment we wasted time at every spot anchoring and at least 20 minutes retrieving the anchor which became stuck on a reef. Batteries were dischlarged making retrieves painfully slow. Captain Trent was a nice enough guide but the first thing he said was that catching grouper or tarpon was "really not his specialty". In short, I would never again charter with this company. For $850 plus an expected gratuity I expected to catch more than mere baitfish. read more

Our whole family can not rave enough about Captain Greg. He satisfied the wants and needs of all of us - we had an awesome afternoon of shelling and fishing! He took us to 3 different spots for hours of fun! He has years of experience and truely enjoys what's he does. We had a great time with Captain Storm!!! The first day we went out we tried 3 different spots. If things weren't happening he moved us right along to another spot. We got to the "spot" and we caught a variety of fish!! We had dolphins circling the boat up close. It was such a great trip. Captain Storm was fun and patient. He continued to try and teach my boyfriend the correct way to cast and reel them in!! When we got back he cleaned the fish for us and we cooked them at the home we rented. We've gone out on the Reel Faster boat every time we come into the area - Capt. Roger (I believe) knocks it out of the park ever-time, always going above and beyond to make sure we have a good time regardless of the conditions. We have several younger kids on board and we could not say enough good about how enjoyable the capt has made it for them - from helping them keep their fish on the line, to his great driving, and flexibility based on weather. Highly recommend !! We've caught everything from snapper to mackerel to jack to king to goliath groupers to small sharks. Booked a charter for further out to sea! They Called the day before I was getting a little nervous because there was not enough people for what I had purchased ! But they were able to get me in on a offshore charter! We had Captain Trent and he was phenomenal! He knew the right places to go and very knowledgeable on the fish, he even knew what fish we were catching before they even came out of the water because of how they fought when reeling them in! Very down to earth, very easy to get along with! It was kind of nice as well because the other people didn't show up so it was just my husband and I! I would definitely do this again and I would request captain Trent! I lost count at 10 fish before I caught one big enough to keep! Walked away with 6 pompanos, 1 redfish, and 2 snappers! read more

Great experience today with Captain Storm. We had a big group (4 adults and 6 kids) with limited fishing experience. My husband surprised me with a dinner cruise. We were welcomed on the ship and shown to our table. The waitress was zero on a scale from 1-10. Dottie or Dollie was not pleasant at all. I asked if we are allowed to walk around and I got a snotty remark. She didn't welcome us or tell us the lay of the land and what the night will be. We didn't get a glass of water until after dinner. She made the night less than perfect. The rest of the cruise members made up for it though. I would recommend taking the cruise. The food was good and views were stunning. read more

Do Not Recommend this to any human being who is looking forward to bringing fresh fish home for dinner. My dad and my uncle saved up for this trip, as it was our first time to Marco Island. We were excited to charter the 'Reel Happy' boat with Captain Scott until we realized that we caught the same miniature tiny fish at the inter coastal at home in Fort Lauderdale. This is more of some type of conspiracy tour with a story book direction which includes lots of site seeing and driving through wake zones which felt like you were in slow motion, trying to reach an unknown destination, as their was no set spots or any urgency to catch some big fish to bring home, and eat (like we saw in the pictures on the website). The Captain did his part, although I thought their would be more than one choice of live bait (shrimp) for the hundreds of dollars we had invested into this trip. My uncle even tipped Captain Scott, although he didn't even have to fillet any fish as their were no keepers nor, was their any urgency to find a strategy to possibly catch any keepers. My only real gripe was when the Captain asked my dad and uncle 2 1/2 hours in of landing any legal sized fish, 'Would you like to stop at the local gift shop to use the rest room or buy gifts?' as it came over our entire family that was fishing that day, that we were duped. I'm writing this review so it can guide other people who work very hard and are going to spend hundreds of dollars on a back water fishing trip to be educated on the experience, that this is more of a planned routine tour of no wake zones, swimming dolphins to 'wow' you, and great for children under 12 yrs old to catch tiny fish (8" and under). Definitely a fun trip for a tourist or to bring your children on for their first catch but, not for the common Angler. read more

Captain Trent was awesome! This was my first time fishing and he talked me through it all. He baited my line and even help cast the whole time. We ran into some bad weather but he got us back in time and we were ready to go, and back out as soon as the storm passed. We all caught numerous fish; mangrove snapper, whiting, trout, and I caught beautiful mackerel. Trent let us fish until the bait ran out because we lost some time due to weather, so we got more than the 4 hours. Make sure you stick around while Trent cleans and filets the fish because there are some huge tarpon that your can feed by hand. read more

Our family took the Marco Island Princess, a 2 hour tour. They do a great job here. The boat was big, very nice and clean inside, we bought the lunch, well worth the extra 10 bucks. Buffet style cold cuts, veggies, salad, cookies, lots of extras. The bartender made great tropical drinks, a Miami Vice is a great choice. Lots of bar choices here. The captain talked almost the whole time and gave a lot of information, very pleasant. If you are looking for a boat tour, this can't be beat. read more

Our crew of 5 went backwater fishing on their smaller boat (35 ft) and caught a lot. There were constant fish strikes on shrimp bait! Saw 6 ft shark near surface next to boat and also a manatee and dolphins. Our Capt was friendly, baited our hooks and removed the hooked fish and took us to three key spots for fish in our 4 hr time. He knew when to move to the next spot without breaking the rhythm of the fishing. We had a great time! read more

Went on a fishing tour with Captain Dan today and fishing was slow until we hooked a 400 llb Goliath Grouper. Took all of Captain Dans strength and expertise to land the monster but we eventually landed it. Captain Dan is awesome - really knows his stuff in getting you on fish and makes it fun. I have used this company a few times before and had great experiences but this time was not one of them. We took a half day tour and were taken to one spot by our captain and were catching fish but only one kind and about an hour in we were asking to go to another spot but Captain Chuck basically blew off our requests. For the amount we paid you would think they would at least try to take us to another spot. By two hours in half our group wasn't fishing and just hanging out by that point you would hope they would get the hint. Very disappointed and will not use for our next charter or at least ask for a different Captain. Not worth the money. read more

Our family of five went out for a four hour morning offshore trip on the Reel Faster with Capt. Roger and First Mate Devon and we had a blast! We set the trip on a Sunday for the following Tuesday due to rough seas on Monday. Captain Roger called early on Tuesday morning to push the trip back an hour to give the weather a little time to lay down a bit before we headed out. It was still a little sporty a couple miles out beyond the shore to about 12-14 miles where we fished. The crew was very personable and kind. We all had a great time, caught our share of fish and I wouldn't think of going with another charter if they are available. Easy check in, great service and worth every penny. read more

Awesome sunset cruise. Wasn't an advertised deal but asked at the booth since the Marco Princess was booked. We had a group of 8 with an elderly individual on a walker with oxygen. Very accommodating with no issues getting in the boat. Brought our own appetizers and adult beverages. Toured the inlets and viewed the various houses. Finally made it out to the gulf for a spectacular sunset. Make sure you bring your camera. Our captain was quiet but dependable. Paid $360 for a 2hr private cruise with elderly parents and siblings.
