Thanks to a Yelp event I was able to discover this hidden gem. I've been here TWICE since then to try a few different types and ALLLLLL of them have been BEYOND. We have tried the Beni, Jefa, traditional, hot Cheetos and my personal favorite the Ruffles. CREAMY, HOT CORN w/ savory ingredients. At this rate, you'd never get bored. They've been here 5 years and will definitely be on my weekly radar! Though a small cup could absolutely fill you up (priced around 5-5.50), I do recommend medium and large if 2+ are snacking. The cajeta's are pretty standard and so is the ice cream, but a good add on if you find the corn is too spicy. They do have certain cold treats that I'm hoping to try during my next few visits. The interior is CLEAN, pretty spacious for small parties and they have affordable catering options too! You can't go wrong having an elote party! (Just invite me too!) I've seen the owner in there every time I've been and he's SUPER kind and offers helpful recommendations based on what you want out of your treat. Don't sleep on this place, you are TRULY missing out.

Today I learned that the flavor for P'tit Basque can be optimized and enhanced if the cheese was shedded and ribboned to create more surface - essentially allowing it to breathe. The Oui Oui Board was a great little brunch treat. Not sure about an item on the board, yet ask the staff. Also love that the shop is Latina-owned and LGBTQIA+ friendly. We'll definitely be coming back.

Let's talk boards: each one is a curated experience, not just a pile of meats and cheese. From their manchego offering to the locally sourced Indigo ridge from River Whey Creamery, every bite feels intentional and indulgent. Whether you're treating yourself or impressing guests, CheeseMe makes you look like a hero. But here's the kicker--it shares space with a fantastic coffee shop, so you can sip your cold brew while diving into a weekly specialty sandwich, pasta salad, or rotating board that's always on point. The flavor combinations change weekly, and somehow, they always slap. I still dream about the Caprese sandwich and the Mexican elote pasta salad. The vibe is chill, stylish, and welcoming. You can tell this place was created with love and a strong sense of community. Latina-owned, woman-powered, and full of flavor? Yes, please. Do yourself a favor: come hungry, leave happy, and bring a friend so you can try twice as much and as the their slogan suggests, come for the , stay for the cheeseme!

The Layout & Vibe It is a massive warehouse-style shop filled with every kind of candy imaginable. They have a huge selection of American classics and imported Mexican favorites, but their homemade line is where they really shine. * The "Batman" Rule: You can't miss the life-sized Batman statue--just a heads-up that there's a "Do Not Touch" sign on him! * Organization: The shelves are packed with everything from bulk lollipops and "Glow Pops" to stacks of de la Rosa Mazapán. What to Grab * The Classics: You have to get the de la Rosa--it's a staple for a reason. * The "San Antonio" Specials: They are famous for their Chamoy pickles (look for the Big Tex Dill Pickle in Chamoy), Picositas belts, and those spicy tamarindo chili balls. * Party Needs: Beyond the candy, they have a ton of party supplies and authentic piñatas if you're prepping for an event. It's a combination restaurant in the front and small market at the back, which gives it a warm, community feel. From the outside, the building looks a bit run down, so if you're coming purely for ambiance, just know the real highlight here is the food and the service. If you're looking for delicious Afghan comfort food, you should definitely give their Qabuli Palau a try - or order it for takeout. The Qabuli Palau was excellent. The shank meat was so tender it practically fell off the bone - flavorful and hearty. Service was warm and welcoming. You can tell it's family-run, and that personal touch really shows. There is a restroom available for customers (I didn't personally use it, so I can't comment on that). The space overall could use a little facelift, but the food makes it worth the visit. My total came out to $36.51 for 2 dishes, a hot tea, and a small chocolate bar. After reviewing the itemized receipt (with San Antonio sales tax at 8.25%), the math didn't quite line up with the posted prices. One small piece of constructive feedback: the menu pricing appears to be outdated, and it might be helpful for the owner to update the menu or clarify pricing so it doesn't accidentally cause confusion or trouble down the road. I'm sharing this because I'd hate to see a hardworking family business run into avoidable issues. Overall, the food and hospitality were the highlights for me. Don't judge it by the exterior - just come for the Qabuli Palau and the welcoming service.
