I needed food for a pretty large party at home on a Sunday and was considering options. Fiesta Mexicana was awesome! Everything was neatly packaged up, easy to pick up, bring home and serve. Saved me tons of cooking, the price was great and the food was a big hit. Big pans of enchiladas disappeared, as did the appetizer platters with taquitos, flautas and quesadillas. I called a couple of other places before happening on Fiesta Mexicana. Fiesta Mexicana was the best to work with, letting me pick the food up early before they opened to make sure we had the food on time. I stopped in because it looked lively as I was driving by. The every first impression you get from a Mexican restaurant are the chips and salsa. Chips...not bad. Salsa...to be desired. They also served bean dip, but it was rather bland. I ordered a michelada and that wasn't very good either. My main meal was the chile verde. It was a decent portion, but again lacked flavor. My husband and I were looking for a Mexican spot one night and we happened upon this place. We were pleasantly surprised with their food because we have been to a few (a lot) of Mexican places in Spokane and surrounding areas that just taste like warmed up freezer food and this place didn't. We're from the Midwest so having salsa and refried beans with chips was new to us also but we love it. The only thing is the first salsa they give you is not spicy at all so if you want something with a little kick they do have a hotter option upon request! read more

Quite possibly the best Mexican restaurant in the city. Every time I am back in Spokane I make sure to go to Fiesta. They can get pretty busy at dinner time, probably because everybody in the area knows how good this place is, but if you go before the rush your food prepared quickly. They aren't slow by any means even when it's busy, rather just incredibly fast when it's not busy. My family and I explored the menu for a while and have found our favorites. My dad always gets two enchiladas, which are great. I tend to stick with the Carnitas de Res, Carne Asada or something Colorado (it's been a while). I've never been disappointed with what I've ordered, even when exploring the menu. They bring ample chips and salsa, which is really good but not spicy enough for my liking before the meal. Afterwords a free dessert of a tortilla chip with whipped cream, strawberry sauce and honey, or something like that. My parents never ate those so I always got three! It's reasonably priced to for a high quality sit down restaurant. The past few times I've been back in Spokane my family has taken advantage of the take out option. You can order online or call them up and place your order. About the only disadvantage with take out is they use a lot of plates and foil to wrap your food. It stays warm but is a bit excessive. Take out portions come with what appears to be less chips, maybe it's just because they don't bring you more. But you've got your food already, you won't be killing off multiple bowls of chips while you wait to depackage the meal! read more

Rarely does Yelp let me down - this was one of those times. The restaurant is old and tired like many great Mexican restaurants, but the food was pretty basic. I live in Montana and our Mexican joints run a strong 2-3 stars which is much better than this. Prices are okay, portions are fair, service was great. read more

Great service! Were given all the chips and salsa and beans we could handle when we sat down. The menu is pretty normal for a Mexican restaurant and the food portions were large which was great! The Happy Hour ended at 5pm so get there early if you want to take advantage of it. The restaurant has a nice Mexican feel to it. read more

My wife and sister in law were both served spoiled meat which was brought to their attention and taken care of for my sister but my wife however didn't realize her food was spoiled until later in the day when she started to feel really ill. We recommend steering clear of this place, if they can't keep track of their expiration dates on their food then I can only imagine what else they fall short on. read more

I went by the other reviews on Yelp and they were right on the money. Good service, good chips & salsa and the carne asada was excellent! My only problem was the steak portion was a bit on the small side in my opinion. Since I was still hungry I ordered a chili relleno as well. The relleno was definitely the weakest part of my meal and I don't think I would order it again. The "sopapilla" was a fried tortilla with whipped cream and strawberry sauce... ummm ok... I've spent a lot of time in New Mexico as well and this definitely wasn't my idea of a sopapilla. Anyhow, I would definitely recommend checking out Fiesta Mexicana. The Lo-Down: Very Americanized Mexican food, weak salsa, chips were okay, alcoholic drinks needed some serious help, service was very good. * If your idea of "great" Mexican food requires every plate to be served with rice and beans, sprinkled with white and yellow cheese to be "authentic" then you might really enjoy this place. * If you are used to eating at other "Spokane" Mexican restaurants you will most likely think this place is da bomb. * If you think Chimichangas are a "Mexican" specialty you will enjoy this place. If on the other hand you are expecting authentic or even California/Arizona - Mexican style food you will be disappointed. So why the three stars, because with very few exceptions Spokane Mexican restaurants are catering to the likes of their customers and not to the authenticity of the cuisine. I don't blame them, they have to stay in business. So for Spokane this is a solid 3 stars, it's certainly better than many other choices but if you were comparing it to so-cal or Tucson restaurants it would be a 1 star. read more

In Spokane for business for a week and Yelp steered me right everytime. I had the Carne Azada and it was delicious. Tender, juicy and had a great grilled steak flavor. For a mexican food lover, living in France you just don't find the real deal. Which is why I make sure to stop at Fiesta Mexicana every time I make it back to Spokane. Great staff, great service, and most importantly, great food! The chimichanga is my go-to choice, but the enchiladas and burritos are also delicious. We showed up with a party of 8 without a reservation on a Friday night when they were very busy and they got us in super fast! The food was great and so was the ambiance! I was here last weekend when I was in town visiting my sister. This is the second time I have been here and I have to say I was pretty impressed with their food. I really liked their salsa. It had a bit of heat and tasted homemade vs. Azteca. For dinner I had their chicken fajitas and this also had a bit of heat which I really enjoyed. I was also impressed by their prices. We had dinner for 4 and 1 drink and the bill was around 60 dollars and we had great service. Next time I am in town, I think I will have to hit up this spot again. read more

We love the fiesta margarita, and even the tofu fajitas (don't laugh). I am a total carnivore, but my friend who always orders them love them, and I always sneak some! Also, if you love hot, ask for the habanero salsa. I am sad when they don't have it, but love it so much, I would buy it if they sold it. This is a hidden away jewel for Mexican Food fans. Tucked away on South Grand, we enjoyed the small neighborhood it shares. The food is consistently excellent. They serve some of the best Carne Asada I've ever had. The service is just icing on the cake. This is the best Mexican restaurant in Spokane, hands down. Their prices are decent and the product is delicious. My favorite dish is that a arroz con pollo. The special Margarita is huge, you're gonna get tanked. Also, they have a back room for groups. When I reserved it they gave me a nice discount on the total bill. read more

Bonus that they provide bean dip as well as salsa with your free chips. Kids menu is a good deal with each item under $5. We went here since our normal spot on the south hill was wayyy to busy so we decided to try a new spot. No regrets! They started with a pitcher of water and chips and dips (salsa and refried beans) which is a nice change since most places don't do refried with their chips. I'm pretty picky on mexican food but they were already off to a good start. We ordered the macho burrito and chicken nachos and were pleasantly surprised with both. Both had plenty of flavor and good meat (also a bonus that they put fresh tomatoes on the nachos when I didnt want onions). While we were eating the place got pretty packed, a few large tables and a few small tables but they still made sure our drinks were full and we were happy. Prices were reasonable and they even give you a little dessert when checking out. We will definitely be back to try more of this place! read more

Worst service I have ever had. We went in on a Tuesday night at about 630. The restaurant was full. A woman walked by and asked how many, she walked off talking to herself and then walked back and forth in front of us several times doing other things before stoping again and asking us "how many" again as if she had never seen us before. We should have left at that moment because this is how the whole night would go. Although the chips and salsa and bean dip and water came fairly quickly, it took 9 minutes for our order to be taken (I timed it with my phone). After asking three different people for my drink, it arrived 1 minute before my husbands food, which arrived 37 minutes after it was ordered. Mine arrived 45 minutes after it was ordered. He was almost finished with his by the time mine arrived. No one ever came back to the table to check on us after we received the food. Although the food was pleasant, they skimped badly on the cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Of course I couldn't tell anyone this or get any more because no one came to or by our table to ask. After we finished eating, it took 12 minutes for them to offer a check and after waiting 9 minutes for them to pick up the credit card, we finally went to the front to pay. As I said the seasoning there is quite good and the location is nice, I wish we could go back, but the service is just too, too bad. We will not return. I recommend you avoid it as well. read more

I had a hard time picking out something from the extensive menu. It all sounded great. Settled on the chicken burrito. It did not come with anything extra, and it did not need it. It was delicious and filling. My sister had the Mexican pizza appetizer, and said it was very good. Chips were good. Came with a bean dip option as others have mentioned, a nice touch. Service was good. We must have had 3 different Waiters. Oh, I also had a mango margarita, and it too, was excellent.
