I was roaming the streets of Zurich and found this little gem tucked away in a larger alleyway and…read morestopped to take a photo. I read their "Spring Specials" Board and saw the Karotten Suppe and decided to sit for a spell and enjoy a bowl of one of my favorite soups. As the name suggests, Zoup - they sorta specialize in soups I suppose, (as well as other things I'm sure) with seasonal offerings/variations. I initially wanted carrot and ginger but I opted for the carrot-mango-orange variant. What's cool is that they offered to add some fresh ginger in as well. Win! Win!! In addition to my soup, I also ordered a Panache which is just a beer with a lime soda topper that's pretty refreshing. The staff was very courteous and helpful as well as linguistically patient with me as we both tried to communicate with one another. The ambiance is traditional Cafe European with a nice airy seating area to people watch without feeling like people are on top of you. So, if you are in Zurich and a soup person then this is the place for you.

Charming and cozy restaurant with a variety of soups, Asian fusion style food serving lunch,…read moredinner, alcohol, homemade coffee and freshly baked desserts. *Great spot if you're dining on a budget, since Zürich is not a cheap place to dine or stay. Many specialties on the menu, I ordered: Tom Kha Gai: Thai soup with fresh chicken, mushrooms, baby corn, string beans and green bell pepper. This is non spicy Mulligatawny: Indian curry soup with fresh chicken and baked apples. Topped with dried saffron. Comes with vasnati rice. Comes with basmati rice. This is non spicy Dessert: Swiss "Deep dish style" Apple pie. A MUST ORDER if available. **Desserts vary on season and may changes each day *outdoor/ patio seating available

Came here on a Monday at 8pm. We were able to get a table for 4 of us…read more The prices here are a bit lower than the rest of the restaurants in the area. Ambiance (5 stars): It has a very homey feeling to it. Especially with the rules that you share tables if you do not have a big enough party and no reservations. Food (4 stars): - Mixed meat (4.5 stars): would recommend. - Salads (3.5 stars): We got the mozzarella salad and a large mixed salad, both were good but came with too much sauce/creamy. - Goulash Soup: (4 stars) comes with bread, it was very hearty. - Traditional roasted pork, tyrolean bread dumplings with bacon sauerkraut, gravy. (4 stars) It was tasty, but nothing outstanding. - Apple Strudel with custard sauce: (4 stars). It was pretty tasty, but a pretty small portion, nothing outstanding. - Ice cream (5 stars): With the umbrella very good. For 4 of us the bill came to 106 euros. Service: (4 stars) The waiter at the start was trying not to speak english, but after a while he warmed up to us, and was friendly. A few interesting things about the restaurant: - you share tables, most of the tables seat about 10 people. - They do not do reservations, first come first serves - 30Euros minimum if you use visa I would come here again.
