I'm not sure why my first review for Fiddler Blues does not show up, nor why the other positive reviews for this restaurant (from other reviewers) are now not showing up, but I'll try again because my experience at Fiddler Blues was so great that it deserves a rave review and it doesn't seem fair that only the negative reviews are still showing. Not sure what it was in YELP's review program that deleted only the positive reviews but it seems like a disservice to this restaurant to omit the reviews of patrons with positive experiences. Anyway. Fiddler Blues is a lakefront restaurant - very casual and informal. The decor is nothing special, but when I dine out I am concerned with cleanliness of the establishment and the quality of my meal. Fiddler Blues met both of these (cleanliness and good food) expectations. We were there June 14, party of 7. We ate out on the deck and were very pleased with the service. Our waitress attended to each in our party within minutes of our staggered time arrivals and continued to check on us throughout the evening. My husband ordered the fried catfish, fries, and salad, and I ordered the fried shrimp, salad, and fries. We also had a side of slaw. Our food arrived in a reasonable time and the waitress seemed to take extra care to ensure all orders were correct and we were happy with the food. She was friendly but not too intrusive - we all remarked at how good the service was. The catfish was really good.....but the shrimp was amazing! Very large, crispy breading, and cooked to perfection. Two in our party are from the northeast coast and are accustomed to great seafood - and they agreed it was as good as any shrimp they had ever eaten. The fries were great - different cut and seasoned with garlic salt. Warning - the cole slaw is really spicy but I loved it. My margarita was perfect, the service was great, the food was excellent, and watching the sunset on the deck with friends made for a wonderful Friday night. We will be back.....often! read more

4-18-2026 Previously I had given giving a less than stellar review on this establishment. Last night I went again and ordered a Fiddler cheeseburger with onion rings, firecracker shrimp, Fiddler fries and I went ahead and got chicken wings. If I get home I found that the chicken wings were cooked to perfection, the Fiddler cheeseburger was very good but they don't put condiments on it. They offer you packets but you have to put it on yourself so I whipped out some ole Duke mayonnaise and ketchup and did it myself, the firecracker shrimp were good and the Fiddler fries were mediocre. Overall the experience was good though and I was really impressed. By the way, the onion rings were fantastic. I think they make them there. They're themselves. They don't seem to be pre-breaded. I got there just as they opened at 4:00 and they got slammed almost immediately because it was a nice day on the lake and everybody was wanting something to eat. I'll be back. It was good. read more

Came across this place while delivering something to Prosperity. Cute little spot in the river. Place is a little loud but lots of seating inside and out. We started with the fiddler fries and crab bites. Highly recommend the fiddler fries. The crab bites were not good at all. Very bland in flavor. I had the catfish platter with onion rings. My husband had there Sirloin special with collards and baked potato. Fish was cooked to absolute perfection, onion rings delicious, steak flavored and cooked beautifully, collards tasted sour and baked potato was good. I also got a blue Murray it was ok. For the flavors listed all I could taste was cherries and it wasn't one of the flavors listed. Ended dinner with their new toffee cake dessert. Now that was delicious!!! Service was ok. Had to look for our waitress a good bit but overall. Would definitely go here again. If you haven't tried it. I definitely would. read more

Cool place on the waterfront, great atmosphere, excellent service, friendly staff. Felt a little overpriced for the amount of food - I ordered the grilled catfish and it was 4 of the tiniest fillets I've seen. However everything I ate tasted very good, my wife ordered a burger, I had a couple bites because I was still hungry after the tiny catfish and it was great! Their fries were really incredible, probably the best I've ever had. Side salad was very fresh and coleslaw was nice. I give it a 4 out of 5 because I felt the portions were a little skimpy for the price, but we can all thank Biden for paying more for less in all walks of life. I will definitely go back! They have a really nice bar too, we had our kids with us so we weren't drinking that night. We are leaving the kids home next time so we can sit at the bar and enjoy a few adult beverages. read more

My mom took me here for a dinner date as this is near their summer home. We grabbed their cheeseburgers and they were one of the best I ever ate.. loved their fries too. I have eaten food from this place twice and have not tried their burgers, but we have had their pork chops, chicken with pasta, and steak. For each entree, we felt the quality of the food did not match the high costs. The steaks were a special and very fatty. For each order, we felt the quantity of food was not sufficient nor industry norm. For my last order, I called it in. When I went to pick it up, I was told to speak to the bartender. The bartender ignored me until I spoke out loud enough to get her attention. There was no signs or indication where to go to get your pickup. The servers did not seem interested in helping. Went there from a lake ride for dinner around 5:00 p.m. A storm was brewing on the lake and we figured we may be there a while until the radar shows it passed over. Boat parking is minimal but manageable. No one was there so we parked sideways. I believe the parking you head into the ramp/dock. Several of the cleats were not secure and/or missing. Service was Okay. Our waitress sounded like she was new. We just rolled with it. Order a drink which was good. The special for the day was fresh catfish. You got three huge pieces and whatever sides. We order a key lime to go, but ended on eating there since the storm was in the path going home on the water. Prices were acceptable for the lake. We will probably attempt traveling there again for a meal since there are minimal places on Lake Murray to eat out. Weekend menus look interesting and look forward to trying. read more

The back of the menu apologizes for their slowness and makes a joke about it and tells us to relax and grab a beer. Besides wasting your customers time at your establishment this isn't acceptable in service. It's not a joke and no I won't relax and get a drink. AND that should have been the tip off to leave this place. 25 minutes after getting menus our table of 6 got all of their drinks. Another 15 minutes to order when we found out that they were out of hamburgers (Saturday night at 7pm) which is half their menu. We ordered what we could and another 30 minutes later were told by our waitress that the they were out of everything?? How does a restaurant function without having any food?? How does the waitress and kitchen not discuss what is available and how many? It goes with the pattern on their menu. The customers are not there to be served properly they are there to make this shithole a couple of bucks. I'll go ahead and tell you this place won't be open long with this type of service or food. The food is consistently good. The Service is usually excellent, depending somewhat on the waitress. Folks are super nice and the view of the lake is outstanding. Can be very crowed on the weekend and summer. Fall and Winter are our favorite times to go as most folks eating here are locals. read more

We went here on a Thursday night and had a great dinner. We tried the fried shrimp and the fried catfish and both were excellent. The sides were also fantastic. We had salads , green beans, and potatoes and they were so much better than the average sides you usually get at seafood restaurants. My margarita was one of the best I've had and our server was quick and efficient. Lots of people seem to be hearing about what a good place it is because it was full of customers! This was our first trip up the lake by boat to eat at the Fiddler Blues. Our service was timely and good. We had 3 different entrées, hamburger, fried shrimp and salad. We used to go to this location under different ownership. We really liked it and were sorry to see it go. You never know which way the next owners will take it. We ate there tonight and it was great! Might give five the next time here, food was very good cooked beautifully not dry but cooked. Some different flavors of beer on tap but also the normal ones you see. Waitresses are very attentive and they know what they are doing by having a good group of them on hand for a Saturday night.
