Over the last decade, streetwear has really come into its own- building up from brands like LRG, Obey, and Stussy into The Hundreds, Triumvir, and countless others. Avenue's been through all of that, and the minute you walk in, you get a feeling that these guys really ain't no joke. The folks at Avenue live the lifestyle and believe in the art- because of that, the stuff they carry is always fresh and legit. I remember stumbling into Avenue back in high school, trying to find a place to quench my LRG fix. The main man behind the register, Arthur, not only helped me with what I was looking for, but really took the time out to explain the finer points of streetwear. Every time I stop by, he's always there doing his thing, and mindful of stuff I'd be interested in that's already out or coming out soon. It's places like Avenue that really show what OC is all about- not all that pretentiousness you see on Laguna Beach. They've been around for awhile and have their established sources for discounted items. The stuff they carry is truly unique in today's market. It's not the overstock merchandise you see from large retailers like Amazon. In fact, their business model has been probably around longer than Amazon's mega footprint. We need to keep these mom & pop stores! I needed a a poop bag holder for our dog's leash. They had several to choose from. I didn't expect to find high quality men's skincare products. Their pricing is a fraction of what you'd pay elsewhere. I stocked up! I bought a handful of other things too. These impulse purchases will come in handy. If you see something you want you have to buy it as they won't restock from the back and often it's a one or two of a kind item. Many items are amazon returns and store close outs - some name brand and some unknown or store brands. You often have to read the white tag on the box as they are taped shut. If you want to see something in a box just ask the staff, they generally will open it for you. I get many of my health products there - like antacids, cold/allergy, hair dye, and anti-aging skin care. Cleaning products and every kind of miscellaneous household good that you can imagine - it's there, or it was there last week! Food is a gamble - check the expiration dates. Check the prices online compare before you buy- most are great, but some are not - but that's part of the fun of the hunt at Wesco - finding the deals! Closed on Mondays - limited hours on Sunday.

I had paid in cash, but the cashier who originally helped me forgot to give me my receipt back. Instead of trying to understand the situation or offer any helpful solution, the manager immediately approached me with an attitude and was rude from the start. What disappointed me most was that she refused to acknowledge that the missing receipt was caused by an employee's mistake, not mine. Rather than handling the situation professionally or showing any empathy, she made the entire interaction unnecessarily unpleasant. In the end, I had to settle for store credit because she was unwilling to work with me. A good manager should know how to de-escalate situations, listen to customers, and lead by example. Unfortunately, this manager did the opposite. Her communication, attitude, and overall approach to customer service left a very negative impression. I shop at TJ Maxx often, but after this experience at the Fountain Valley location, I'll think twice before returning. Manager position should be given to individuals who are highly trained in customer service not someone who just rolled out of the bed looking like she don't even wanna be there. Absolutely terrible.

He threw my figures down on the counter and told me it wasn't his fault I wanted to "get rid of this shit." He then told me to leave. When I pointed out that throwing my belongings on the counter was rude, he started screaming at me, aggressively saying I shouldn't call him rude in his own store, and demanded I get out. He kept screaming and insulting me and wouldn't even give me a chance to gather my things and leave. I will never come back here, and I would not recommend this store to anyone. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at a collectibles shop.
