I read really good things about this place so we drove about 25 min. to get there. Having worked…read moreyears back in a traditional Greek Kitchen and accostumed to the taste and quality of the food, I can say that the food was not bad at all, but I expected a bit more flavor and the gyro meat not to be dry as it was. The tzatziki was the best thing of our four orders. I will add that not all plates on the menu online they have upon your arrival and I know and it is stated when you order that the meal is cooked to order, still, the order took over 25 min. to get, during this time we can see both cooks in front of us just talking and cracking jokes while they moved slowly around the kitchen. We did not ask for anything extraordinary and probably the slow hands from the cooks it was got us dry food at our table... I will add that some customers had two big dogs in front of us, one of which was aggressive to some of the other customers and while I understand the place is dog friendly and we love dogs, this one was making everyone nervous and the owner instead of doing something about it, just talked to the owners about the pets like nothing was happening, I guess you can't read the crowd in this sense.

Met a friend here for brunch a couple weekends ago, and it was amazing! We arrived around 11am, and…read morethe parking lot was packed! We were seated in a booth near the corner, and it was a great place to visit and talk. I enjoyed the French toast with blueberries and a side of crispy bacon. Just delicious! My friend ordered an entree that had eggs, crab meat, and hash browns and raved about it as well. Service was very good - attentive but not hovering. Highly recommend Stoney Knob Cafe if you're in the area!

Went this week with a friend who came up from Charlotte and another friend who just moved to Weaverville and we sat down for the most magnificent meal. See the pictures with the descriptions you can't go wrong with stony knob and it's not that expensive. the service was perfect. We had a young lady named Abby and we were sitting in the room next to the fireplace, which gives you the ambience of a lodge, rustic natural environment, even though the window faced the parking lot, but that was fine. We are so far on the other side of the room was wonderful.

Pita was fresh and soft, lamb was cooked to perfection, sauce exceptionally flavorful. I thought the price of $13.00 was a bit much, but if they stay in that price range I can justify it. The lady started friendly but seemed cold when I looked at iPad to review the bill. We ordered 2 sandwiches- 1 gyro and 1 shawarma. It CLEARLY on the menu says it comes with a side of fries, Greek salad, hummus, pita etc. Nowhere does it mention an up-charge for anything. I saw it said +$2.50 for each of the sides we asked for with the sandwich. I questioned this and she gave me a face like "how dare I question?" And just said "nothing is included with Sandwich, even fries". It literally contradicts what is on the menu! She said she'll tell her manager. Anyway- that was weird. Also, on the mixed grille it came with the tiniest pieces of pita, almost offensive, given the price. The entrance feels nicer for a take out place with the fake plants on the walls, but the back is closed off and the bathroom is dirty. Overall, I'd really only go for take out. And know they're cheap and will nickel and dime you.

I've been a few times and as a Greek, enjoy this restaurant…read more The restaurant is clean, and the decor is authentic. I think the menu offers quite a bit and overall the food it tasty. The one thing I would offer as constructive criticism is really watch the amount of dry oregano you add after the fact. Most of what we received had more than a dusting, which isn't pleasant with dried herbs. (Note, I love oregano and cook with it all the time. This was just excessive). The other thing I would note is there isn't that spirit of hospitality when you are there, which is what the Greeks are known for. Service was I'd say a bit below average- for example, we ordered a bunch of appetizers, and were done with quite a bit of it. When our food came out the waitress tried to deliver all the food on an already crowded table. We had to ask her to remove the dirty, empty plates first. We also had people run out of water, and she never came back to refill. The other thing was it was clearly a celebratory dinner. It would have been nice to at least ask what was going on. Not looking for anything, but typically a server would at least chat you up. All that said, we will be back and recommend this place to others. Would just recommend tasting the food before it does out to make sure its not caked with dried oregano, and bring a little more of that Greek spirit to the business.
