My Thanksgiving dinner experience 11/27/25: Arrived at Mauston Park Oasis at 12 noon. Took a booth;…read morewaitress was ready to go. Ordered two waters with lemon slices and the turkey special. Got two salads within two minutes. Before I took my first bite, the waitress brought two turkey specials with sides of rolls and cranberry sauce, and the check, then walked off. She said sorry, the kitchen is working fast. There were two other couples in the entire restaurant. She could have at least held the ticket until we were done with our salads. Five minutes later, she asked what we wanted for dessert. Now I'm pissed - why the rush when no one is here? The dinner was subpar: turkey was okay, one piece of sweet potato, a golf ball-sized scoop of mashed potatoes, the same for stuffing, green beans cooked right with a little snap, but half of them had stems connected, and some sort of stalk from the plant. The cook wasn't very observant. I wasn't enjoying this. She had already dropped off to-go containers and two desserts in to-go containers. Went to pay, waited for her to ask how everything was, but she didn't, so I brought it up. I told her in the past I was given more time to eat when I ordered a hamburger there. I looked at the clock on the wall - 12:17 - and I'm ready to go out the door. She said, 'Yeah, that's good, right?' I said, 'No, I would have liked a relaxing Thanksgiving meal that I could enjoy.' Her reply was, 'Oh well, have a nice day.' I wasn't expecting that. I walked out and got back home at 12:30, just 2 1/2 blocks away. $42.96 in one half hour. Service spotty, been there at times no problem then the next time it's not good

I also took 2 cookies for later in the day. While i greatly enjoyed the breakfast i was disappointed in the peanut butter cookie. It wasn't fresh. It looked delicious and i was hopeful but it was hard and not pleasant to eat. Maybe it just had been in the cookie jar too long. I mean it is a bakery and cafe and should be fresh. Their easter cookies and pies in the display case looked AMAZING. I wish i had chosen one of tbose. Anyway, i would go back for breakfast and for pie or maybe one of tnose beautifully decorated easter cookies. But the peanut butter cookie - i will pass on that. Staff were very nice!

I had a wonderful Denver omelette and my wife had turkey soup and salad with turkey. Saved room for desert and there were so many to choose from. I had Dutch apple blueberry pie and my wife had Dutch apple cherry pie Both were excellent and nice sized slices The service was great and the place had other things for sale. Small town atmosphere for sure. Note this is feb 26. I think the plan to close for a couple week at the end of this month for kitchen remodeling This is a must go to place.

The service was incredibly friendly, and amazingly fast, given we had a larger order and the place was fairly busy. There were plenty of options; from drink options/flavors, to bakery and breakfast items, etc. If you can't find something to order, that is completely on you because the choices are plenty. We opted for a couple of seasonal lattes, which were, unfortunately, very lacking in flavor. I typically order my coffee drinks half sweet, but this particular day I was wanting something sweet and flavorful so I skipped that directive, and was still disappointed. Bakery items and other drinks were good. There was some sort of market happening in the front of the store, which could have caused for more crowding/chaos elsewhere, but overall it felt like there was a lot of "stuff" everywhere. The seating area seems really crowded, but also didn't appear to have been cleaned in a while. There was a messy desk back by the bathrooms, and while I understand this is probably a busy work area for someone, it all just made me feel a little stressed out. Not a place I would feel relaxed to complete any work.

This year Buttercream Bakery offered sides and rolls for Thanksgiving. I ordered the Brussel sprouts, Squash, and a dozen rolls. I am so very happy with all of it! The squash was AMAZING!!! One of the other things I like is they have a Facebook page and you can order through Facebook messenger. Very convenient. I highly recommend Buttercream Bakery!
