Dr. Kornafel was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. She is competent, empathetic, compassionate, a strong advocate for her patients, and she tells a pretty hilarious joke. I've always felt safe and comfortable in her care knowing she's the best out there. She is incredibly patient and will listen to you, she takes her time at your appointments and doesn't rush through your questions or concerns. I always felt better knowing I wasn't just a number at someone's facility. She takes her job more seriously than anyone I've ever met and I'm pretty sure she'll tell you herself this is her life day in and day out. She has truly been my guardian angel and I knew we would have a successful pregnancy under her care. I am happy to report I am currently 15 weeks pregnant as I write this. Not only is Dr. Kornafel amazing, but so is her incredible staff. Jane, who is the office manager, is the most kind, organized, and caring individual. She answers every question/concern promptly and has excellent communication with her patients. She was also so accommodating and always made sure my appointments didn't interfere with work. You're not going to get another Jane if you go to a big facility, she goes above and beyond to be available for her patients. I'm guilty of texting her on several Saturday nights and she was always ready with a response and never made me feel badly. Emi, one of the incredible nurses who you'll work with, is also kind, compassionate, and incredibly competent at her job. She and Dr. Kornafel work very well together and they make an excellent team. I remember literally shaking from nerves during my transfer and Emi rubbed my hand and reassured me it was going to go well. A week and a half later, I got the best call of my life from Emi telling me I was pregnant. I will never forget that moment and how I felt her celebrate this moment with me. She also came in on a Saturday so that she could be there at my egg retrieval even though she doesn't typically work at Harvest on Saturdays. I was so appreciative that she would rearrange her schedule to come in on a Saturday for me. Lastly, I don't know the embryologist, Van, very well as she started to be there more just before my transfer. But from the few times I've met her I can say she is warm, personable, and from what Dr. Kornafel has told me, a top notch embryologist with extensive experience in the field. I can't thank the amazing team at Harvest Fertility enough for helping give me the best gift in the whole world. I never doubted them and always knew I was getting my baby one way or another. I look forward to going back for baby number two soon!

Deeply Disappointed with Life IVF - Please Read Before You Choose This Clinic…read more I normally don't write reviews, but after my experience with Life IVF (Arcadia & Irvine locations), I felt it was important to share in hopes of helping others avoid what we went through. We started our IVF journey at the Arcadia location, expecting a full-service clinic. What we quickly found out is that there is no doctor on-site--all procedures, including retrieval and transfer, are done 45+ miles away in Irvine with Dr. Yelian. The only doctor at Arcadia was Dr. Johnson, who only offered brief telephone consultations. During my treatment, I never saw a doctor in person until the day of egg retrieval and embryo transfer. That alone was unsettling. What made it worse was after my egg retrieval, Dr. Yelian mentioned I should look into adenomyosis--which was incredibly disheartening since that was the main reason I was pursuing IVF to begin with. It was clear he hadn't even reviewed my file. I felt like just another number in a system that prioritized volume over care. Following the procedure, I experienced severe pain that required a trip to the ER. Not a single nurse or doctor from Life IVF followed up with me, asked how I was doing, or offered any aftercare guidance. The lack of compassion was astounding. Then, after our first embryo transfer failed, I wasn't even informed by a doctor. Instead, a nurse casually told me the transfer didn't take--without even checking if my husband was present to support me. She offered no next steps, and it took three days of me calling repeatedly to finally get a callback from Dr. Yelian. After everything, I made the decision to transfer my remaining embryos to another clinic. Shockingly, Dr. Yelian tried to scare me during the required phone call by saying other clinics might "put the wrong embryo into you." I was appalled that a doctor would say such a thing--clearly a fear tactic, and highly unprofessional. In the end, we found a new IVF clinic, where we received thoughtful care and attention. We had a successful first transfer and now have a healthy and happy 1-year-old. It's taken me time to write this review as I've been busy with our preemie and adjusting to new motherhood, but I can't stay silent. People deserve to know what they're walking into. If you're considering Life IVF in Arcadia or Irvine, please be cautious. There is zero continuity of care, minimal doctor interaction, and very little compassion shown throughout the process. When I attempted to return the call five minutes later, I was told I had to schedule a formal doctor's appointment. I left with significant marks on my legs for days afterward--something I absolutely would have declined had I been given the opportunity to make an informed decision beforehand. To their credit, management acknowledged my concerns and confirmed that this technique is not part of the massage service they offer. However, the resolution offered didn't reflect the seriousness of what happened. When I respectfully explained why I didn't feel it was appropriate and asked them to reconsider, I never received another response. Everyone makes mistakes. What matters is how a business handles them. Unfortunately, what began as an issue with informed consent ended with poor follow-through and communication from management. After years of supporting this business, spending hundreds of dollars on services and gift certificates, I expected much better. I hope they take informed consent more seriously and do a better job standing behind their services when they fall short.

Can't really say the same for the HRC - Pasadena staff and nurse. They were pretty useless and lied to us on our first visit saying they were closed at 10 AM Sunday. They aren't closed. Their staff just wanted to leave early because there were no other patients scheduled past 9:30 AM on that Sunday. I fought with three receptionists/staff/call operators until I finally got my foot through the door. Best advice is to advocate for yourself and try to connect with someone that is not just a call center operator if it's something urgent or can't wait until the next business day. They also didn't show us how to do the injections so we YouTubed everything. Good luck and hang in there! You are putting your body and mental health and work schedules through a lot in this journey but I commend all the ladies out there for even starting your journey.
