DO NOT USE FERRO IRON!!! After quoting a 2 week manufacturing period, we still couldn't get a status update from Travis, the owner, and it's been 5 weeks since we signed a contract! We've asked for status twice. The first time it took multiple texts and phone calls at which point he said they were running behind by a couple of weeks. The second time it took 3 texts and a threat to cancel before he responded. Reviews of his quality and pricing were good, but mean NOTHING when you end up with no gates. We cancelled. read more

GET IT IN WRITING - Travis came out to discuss replacing a fence that extended over a block wall by about 13 inches. We made it clear, by showing him the section we most wanted to replace, that we wanted the fence to extend from the floor to the height desired. He spent quite a bit of time making drawings, which he did not share with us, but indicated that he understood what we were looking for and sent us a quote. The quote did not include dimensions. When the fencing was delivered, his team went to install it. The fence he created extended only to the top of the block wall. Prior to installation, I called him and he told me that "this is what we discussed". (It most certainly was not what we discussed.) The installation team was able to, by modifying the fencing, raise it to be 13 inches over the wall by leaving a space on the ground of 13 inches. It should be highlighted here that the installation team had to modify the fencing on the job site. It was not prepared to extend over the wall. We sent Travis an e-mail to which he responded with a phone call. In that call he explained to me that this kind of fencing is always designed to be a foot off the ground. WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT A FENCE ONE FOOT OFF THE GROUND? If this was, in fact, the case, it was never disclosed to us. In the course of that phone call, when I reminded him that his design needed to be modified at the work site to achieve "the standard", he backtracked again to indicate that the design was correct. As infuriating as it is that we were not provided with the product for which we paid (cash), it is as infuriating that there was no admission of the mistake by the provider. If we had gotten it IN WRITING, we would have been able to get the product we wanted. We will, of course, need to replace this product with one that meets our goals. Travis will not be contacted to do that (not that he offered to). Having looked at some of the other YELP reviews, we now wish we were one of the people that Travis did not call back. read more

I had to call them to send me the quote they said they were going to send, and then when I tried to get them to follow up with some other details, they never answered my email nor ever answered mt phone calls and I left them three messages. Travis came out and quoted me a price for a very small piece of fencing and said it would be done the following week. I waited for his call to tell me the piece was ready but there was no call. I left a few messages with his answering service but I guess I wasn't important enough to call back. After 3 weeks of no callback, I called and told the answering service that I wanted to cancel the order and hey what do you know Travis called me back! The business is family owned, all very nice to talk to and the installers really know their profession. I used Travis at Ferro Iron to install a fence in my backyard in Rancho Santa Margarita. He was great. On time and delivered what he promised. I was hesitant to put a fence as the backyard faced O'Neil and looked beautiful without the fence. However the fence is no nice that my backyard looks much more elegant with the fence.
