Janice was very communicative throughout the process, providing ideas and sketches while she was planning everything out. The day of, the venue we booked decided to cut our setup time short because there was a party that booked lunchtime and was running late. Despite this setback, Janice and her team were there on time working on setting up while the restaurant workers were cleaning up. I can only imagine how chaotic it must have been, but everything was setup on time and came out beautiful! The theme was like XLB on CNY, and Janice ran with the idea and brought it to life. We loved the addition of the fans and flowers! There were also some lanterns that they were able to attach onto the walls that added to the theme, but we forgot to take pictures of them. Overall great experience working with Janice and extremely happy with the result.

Janice was so great to work with: attentive to details, followed up on questions, and accommodated…read morerequests. She was so flexible even when we had to change venues last minute for our event due to weather, and she and her team worked through the rain to get our balloons set up. The display was beautiful, and exactly what we were looking for--a subtle bunny theme for a Year of the Rabbit and Easter 1st year birthday. We got so many compliments from our guests and other family and friends. We will definitely call on Janice again for future events!

Bored of the typical, drunken Halloween weekends, I began a search of an out of the ordinary event…read moreto attend. I stumbled upon the OOTBE Halloween Hunt on a Yelp board. The details were vague, but intriguing: $25 per person Hunt was 1.5-hours The hunt will take you through haunted spots in Hollywood. Bring a flashlight Whhhhaaatttt? A flashlight? What kind of hunt was this?! I was so intrigued, I immediately called my best group of friends and spread the word - we had something super cool to do for Halloween! The night of the event was great! I don't want to reveal all of the details (that's that fun in it!), but the event was challenging and fun. We learned alot of about Hollywood and had a great time doing it. I would definitely recommend this to someone who literally enjoys thinking outside of the box. One of their next events is based around Hollywood scandals. Is it bad we're already getting together our team? Tip: Arrive on time. The event begins promptly.

Everyone in my office wanted to do something "new & fun" for the office Christmas party... but no…read moreone offered up any ideas. So my co-planner & I ran to the internet & found Out of the Box Events... they're located in LA, but do hunts in San Francisco as well. We weren't sure how this would go over with everyone, but thought we'd give it a go! Kristin at OOTBE was super-fantastic! She did research on our company & worked that info into the scavenger hunt as well as cool history about SF. She was also cool with me e-mailing her non-stop with random questions. So the day of the scavenger hunt arrives & Kristin's on-time & completely patient with the chaos going on in our office. Each team got a polaroid camera & a list of clues... and we're off! We ran around the city taking silly pictures & deciphering clues. Trying to throw our competitors off the trail when we could. You get points for creativity as well as finding the clues.... so that made for some fun photo ops! We ended at a hotel bar and had a drink while Kristin tallied the scores! My team won (and not because we were the ones who hired Kristin, but because we're awesome)! Ok - so the point of this long review is this: Hire Out of the Box Events. They're top-notch!!! I promise you'll have a great time!

She was available for me…read moreany time leading up to the wedding, involved me in the planning as needed, answered any questions whenever I had them, put my mind at ease, and herself was very organized and professional. The timeline was particularly impressive for the day of, which she shared with me and we built together, and everything went so smoothly on the wedding day ! We could not have pulled off our perfect, gorgeous wedding without her!! Kimery knows everything there is to know about any facet of weddings. And she has great instincts and amazing suggestions that always made things better, and that were always in service of our vision and the feeling and style we were going for specifically. She always heard us and advocated for us and was in our corner at every step. She was also able to guide us in choosing vendors and vendor packages, and in connecting us with anyone we needed (or wanted), even as new ideas came up! And we had the most amazing folks working on our wedding, literally not a complaint about anyone or anything! She went above and beyond in every way, most significantly when we lot our venue two months before our wedding date. It was a scramble to find a new venue that could do the same date, which Kimery was indispensable in. And then after that we had to re-jigger our plans to the new venue, which at times was overwhelming, but Kimery always talked us through those moments and made it manageable for us. Alex and I could not recommend Kimery more fully. She will make your wedding better, the planning more manageable, and the day-of execution go as smoothly as possible. She really is that good!

Because of COVID, we were limited to outdoor venues. These two ladies transformed a drab parking lot into a vibrant and fun party area. The vendors they booked were fantastic. Staci and Phyllis thought about every little detail to make the party special-color scheme, branded signs, napkins, and cups. They even brought outdoor games for the kids-giant Jenga and Hacky Sack. This duo was able to put this kiddush lunch together in less than 2 weeks, as we were the first during the pandemic to be allowed to have a kiddush lunch. The other party plans they had as backups were also amazing. Throughout the planning process, they remained calm, and never complained when the pandemic caused us to plan, re-plan, and again re-plan. I couldn't have done this without them and this party made the day extra-special

This party was the chance for me to REALLY see the scope of their services and expertise. In addition to being organized, budget-respectful, efficient, etc., I learned to appreciate what visionaries Staci & Phyllis really are. Thanks to their perspective, our small home and broken-up outside space ended up being the home of a beautifully flowing and festive event. They know how people eat and drink and move and all of that expertise guided our decisions.

They have made my planning so easy, I had over thought my experience and brought extra games, prizes ... I didn't know what to expect. But once we arrived, our host had everything beautifully set up. So as a busy mommy of two you know I had my hands full. All I had to do was set up my food and start the music, Forget the games. My guests ate, kids ran straight to the water and conversations began. Before I knew it our time flew by. I would absolutely recommend booking for your special event.

Obviously we couldn't bring people in to SoCal without taking them to the beach, so we organized a beach cleanup, after which my boss wanted us to "all hang out for awhile afterward." I asked him what he had in mind, and he said, "I don't know; surprise me." After the panic wore off, I quickly started googling catering companies and landed on Sam at Santa Monica Picnic Co. He was so patient with my *many* questions and the fact that it took a month or so to finally book them. :) He was also incredibly responsive, whereas the only other company able and willing to go to Zuma for us at the needed time... wasn't. To cut to the chase, everyone could not BELIEVE it when the beautiful spread they were walking past during our cleanup turned out to be ours. I'd also never told my boss what I was cooking up, so as we all got back to our Heal the Bay tent to regroup, he leaned over to me, motioned behind us, and said, "is that for us?" I winked and his eyes widened. The setup was beautiful, the food received rave reviews, and they threw in four cornhole games which kept our very active/competitive group entertained; they were even prepared with a music playlist, though offered us the option of hooking up our own. Howard was wonderful to work with onsite, radiating positivity and warmth. It wasn't 15 minutes in until my boss was asking me for Sam's contact information for a future personal event. Everyone absolutely loved it - it was THE perfect way to end our meetings for the week. I cannot recommend them highly enough. (Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of the setup without my colleagues in them, but I think several people snapped some, so if I can get my hands on them, I'll edit my review to include.)

We…read morehired Kaden and Mimi to help with my mom's retirement party and we couldn't have been happier with the outcome. It was also really fun working with Kim. She's super down to earth, very detail oriented and has some really creative ideas that will take your party to the next level. We hired her to also do the flower arrangements for the party. My mom is really into flowers and creates amazing flower arrangements herself, and even she was impressed and really happy with the outcome of all the flowers and decor :) Kim was also helpful when we had a hiccup with our chair vendor the day of the party. Not only was she able to resolve the issue within a few minutes, she was also able to convince them to drop off rather than having us pick-up with no extra charge. The day of, she was extremely helpful and really reduced the overall stress that we often feel when we throw a party. She arrived early to set-up, took care of all the vendors (so we didn't have to step away from our guests), and made sure everything looked perfect throughout the party. She even stayed after to help with some of the clean-up and ensure that everything went off smoothly. I can't thank Kaden and Mimi enough for making my mom's retirement party so special! Do yourself a favor and hire them- you will not be disappointed!!

With all the decisions to be made and options to choose from, Kim kept us on schedule and helped simplify the decision-making process. She is well-organized, fast to respond, and absolutely steps into the breach when any issues arose. She's great!
