We were in town for a night to visit nearby Falls Park and the downtown area. There wasn't a chance in hell that visit wasn't going to include a brewery, and that's where Fernson comes in. I read through the reviews and this brewery seemed to stick out. We were short on time to see many things so I only stayed for one beer, their porter on tap. At the time I don't believe they'd even given it a name yet, it was simply listed on the big board as a porter with the ABV and price. Anyways, the porter went down fast and easy as all good porters do. They had a nice beer menu here and food as well. Seemed like a nice place, I'd roll back in if I were ever to visit Sioux Falls again. Cheers. read more

Awesome location with the best patio on Phillips ave.. I'm not a beer drinker but they have yummy fruit flavored slushy libations.... I have family members that enjoy the golden hops.. The food is pretty good for bar eats. read more

YES YES YES! FERNSON is slayyyying the craft brew game! We stopped in here on our cross country road trip and out of all the breweries we visited across the country Fernson was a favorite. Fantastic brews & really amazing staff. With ample space and a beautiful tap room Fernson sould be on the top of your list to visit.. OFTEN. I had a flight: Sour IPA with apricot, blood orange and hibiscus IPA, sour with fruit && Gallivant hazy IPA! They were all pretty good but my two faves were the gallivant and sour IPA with apricot! Hubby doesn't like IPAbut did enjoy the other two! He got the Lions Paw and enjoyed it! Huge building, brand new and looks great inside! Kid friendly! read more

Was in the area so stopped in for their Black Friday tastings. They had about 5-6 barrel-aged dark beers. I had a couple and they were good. Location is close to interstate and a big room with bar at one end. The downtown location had a little more ambiance than the brewery location. read more

After spending a week and a half driving cross country and camping I was in search for a beer. We camped across the street at the KOA, and this was conveniently located across the street. I called over to see if they were dog friendly (they are) so my dog and I headed on over for a couple beers. Staff was super friendly, and the beer was great. It was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Doing the brewery tour and this gem was the highlight of the day... The taproom was large and inviting..loved the decor.. Now to the beer .. Awesome brewery! Not only did they have great beers, but the staff was so friendly. I'm an IPA drinker, and I enjoyed their IPA very much, but I also enjoyed their other beers on tap as well. We were just stopping through Sioux Falls on a road trip but they made us feel so at home, even offering up places to eat for dinner that night in town. Found myself in Sioux Falls for a couple days. Checking out the local Brewers. First stop was Fernson Brewing Company. This place has a great vibe once you get past its industrial location. Friendly and helpful folks pulling the tap handles. I recommend that you try their Barrel Aged Farmhouse Ale (aged in Cabernet barrels). The flavor of Cabernet and oak are a great balance to the Farmhouse Ale, but watch the high APV. Their more traditional varieties are excellent too. I enjoyed a porter. You can't miss with a stop at Fernson. read more

Great craft beer. Friendly service.

We have driven from WA to WI and now headed back. On our 2,800 miles thus far, Fernson served up some of the best beer we've had - my all-time favorite bottled craft beer (Bells and O'Dell) included. It is a super stylish place that would look at home in Portland or Seattle - with tasty beer and helpful, friendly service to match. They just started serving on Wednesday nights (lucky us as we were just passing through) and clearly, the word hasn't gotten out - we were 2 of 3 (and then 4) people there. This place deserves to be packed :) Oh, and we got a free pint for checking in on Yelp - major bonus but I would have given it 5 stars anyway. read more

Really great beers. Rob the bartender made us feel right at home and even offered root beer to our 6 year old, which was really cool. The servers knew their stuff when it came to describing the beers - you don't see that at a lot of places these days. Large taproom with a big window to view the brewery. Nice variety of very clean, well-made beers. Will definitely be back next time we're in Sioux Falls. read more

Incredible! I have yet to taste one of their brews I haven't liked. The Curio is a must try! It has hints of pear and is ever so slightly tart. I can't get enough of this one-delicious! I would love to see a taproom open in Fargo, ND:) read more

Beer lovers, the IPA at Fernson is honestly one of the best I have had. Also, their nitro is very divine. If in Sioux Falls, make this one of, if not, your first stop. Their bar is comforting and decorative and not a place to miss in town. Service was exceptional and we made friends out of it as well- what more could you ask for out of a bar.
