I can't believe I haven't written a review of this place before. I am here all the time! Very attentive staff, consistently good drinks, free popcorn (in addition to a few good options and pizza), and every sports package imaginable on the plethora of tv's around the bar. They always have deals through their app Fivestars, for downstairs AND the Copper Room (speakeasy cocktail bar) so be sure to take advantage of that. They are cycling through some staff right now, but the owner is always around to correct any issues you have. I've never had a bad experience at Ben's. By far the best place in town. Normally a g​reat place to stop. It's 1:38 now and we sit down at the Walnut though. Why because we walked in to Ben's and sat at the bar. Read the menu, picked our drinks and waited, waited, waited. 3 people behind the bar and I believe 1 waitress on the floor. 4 people it's chill, slow and not full. The girls look our way but not once even walks down the bar! The blonde girl is on the till or walking to the back and the other brown haired just does dishes and then stands there. After 10-15 of realizing we are being ignored and will not receive service we got up and walked out. read more

A great place to be. Clean little sports bar, lots of TVs, and a good place to sit and drink. Not a place to be if you want the wild bar atmosphere. If that's what you desire, then get on main street and start walking east. It's a good beer bar for South Dakota. Great selection. Love the scenery and variety. Prices can't be beat. Loved the selection from ciders to IPAs to wheat beers. Can't beat the prices here. This is my favorite watering hole in Yankton. It's a place to sit down and have a conversation, not a place to party. If you want to sit around and get shitty and chase some tail then you might wanna try some other places. they have a nice covered spot outside to sit. And contrary to the one negative review about the service, the service is what brings me back. A beer is a beer, going to a bar is about the service and the atmosphere. Ben's has both. read more

I have been going to Ben's ever since my college years as it used to be the only bar that banned smoking. Now almost 6 years later this is still one of my favorite spots in Yankton, and it continues to improve with selection and events. Service is always great, I believe you can order pizza there earlier on in the night and they always have complimentary delicious movie theater style popcorn that is self-serve. They have a large variety of beers on tap, and a relatively decent wine list. They also have an upstairs room that is available to rent out with a separate bar for parties or private functions. I think the bartenders are what make this place successful. They are extremely friendly and helpful but better yet, knowledgeable. It's hard to get a well mixed drink in the area but they seemed to know just what I want. The gal working in the copper room on the 4th of July was great! read more

Stopped in yesterday afternoon for a beer and was pleasantly surprised. Great attentive waitress, hot fresh popcorn and a great variety of beer on tap. Started with Ben's West IPA and really enjoyed that. Ended with a Dogfish sour. Will definitely stop back when I'm in town. One of the best brew pubs I've been in. read more

Ben has been back to brewing for 6 months now and the beers he and Brewmaster Perry have done are excellent. His Westside Park IPA has gotten great reviews and is a very solid IPA. Always great service as well. read more
