It was our first time visiting the center and we really didn't know where to begin. My husband walked over to a gentleman working on a forklift to let him know what we were looking for and ask him where to begin. The gentleman's name was Joe and he dropped everything he was doing to assist us find the type of rocks we were searching for. He helped us take the rocks to be weighed and helped my husband load the rocks into his truck. Joe was very pleasant and made our search easier. I then proceeded to the cashier to pay for the rocks and was welcomed by two friendly cashiers. With all that is going on in today's society, it's pleasant to find a business that still values its customers. Although the weather was crappy, I walked away from Timothy's with a big smile. It was a great reminder that there are still people out there who are willing to go the extra mile to provide exceptional customer service. Every plant looked well loved and taken care of which made it that much more difficult for me to choose one - there were just too many calling my name. There was also a variety of beautiful planters and plant supplies that made it easy to visualize how to style any of their plants. I opted for a moonlight snake plant and a gorgeous wreath that was handmade by the owner herself. She was so friendly and welcoming, and went as far as to let me know that she would be willing to help me find a plant I may be interested in if they do not have it in store, which is something I really appreciate in any business. When I told her we were instructed by our landscape architect to come today at the appointed time, she continued to berate us, stating this breaks the rules and only landscaper is allowed to come. She and Pleasant Run have lost my good business forever! No customer should ever be spoken to and treated so poorly and unprofessionally. The one star is for the workers that loaded my plants.

In the fall of…read more2014, I purchased four Leyland Cypresses from Chesterfield Gardens for approximately $500 total. I followed all of CG's instructions, and yet every single one of them died. I returned in the spring of 2015 to see if Chesterfield Gardens would replace, or at least give me a credit towards new ones; they declined both. They said that it was a very bad winter; however, the trees started turning brown before the winter even began. To their credit, CG did offer for me the chance to purchase more at cost, which I declined because I didn't want to spend another $250 on the same trees that had just died. I wanted to support a local business owner instead of shopping at a box store, but given the fact that Home Depot will replace any plant for up to a year after your purchase, the smart consumer choice is obvious. You're better off getting your shrubs/trees/bushes at Home Depot than at Chesterfield Gardens. I wish that I had read a review like this about CG before I spent $500 there; I would have shopped elsewhere.
