    Open face roast beef sandwich

Had lunch here with my wife. I had the open face roast beef sandwich with fries as recommended by the waiter. It was very good with tender braised beef and plenty of gravy. My wife ordered the poutine and reported it was very good. We will be back.

This place is everything you are looking for in a small town midwestern breakfast place: Gaggle of retired elderly people: check Exceptionally kind and relatable small town waitress: check Whiteboard with the daily specials: check Laminated menu with every standard breakfast staple: check Ever flowing coffee: check Slightly out of place interior design: check Old man who hands you a card with a picture of him dressed as Santa that reads "I'm watching you": check The breakfast was small town stellar. The coffee was coffee. Everything I wanted but nothing remotely special, just how I wanted it.

    Poutine

The service is good but however the food was not appealing or tasty. On another note the poutine was criminal and should not be called poutine on their menu. The gravy was gloopy and the cheese curds were fried. I also ordered a side of turkey sausage the patty came out pale and scabby.

Stopped in here on Easter Sunday, and it was near 1pm. At first we thought that they were closed, but once we came in, all was good. We ordered, joked with the folks who were there and had our meal. Yes, they have corned beef hash. Yes, you can get pancakes instead of toast, they have rye toast, and cheesy grits. Scrambled eggs are freshly cracked (not the mix you get at chain restaurants) and the pancakes have a little malt in them. Very nice. The workers are like family--very friendly. The restaurant has a nice decor with hand painted murals, Michigan photos on the walls. Prices are reasonable.

Galley-like set up as you walk in. Breakfast diner vibes more than 'cafe and bakery'. Kitchen to your left as you walk down short corridor into cafe. Sloth-like chill attitude encouraged; the hashtag is #letshangtogether. Had fun looking at all the little sloth decor throughout. Lots of light and glass. VERY limited seating; seats about 15 (?) inside; mostly 2 tops and a 6 top. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly, permitted to sit where ever we would like, then handed menus. Turkish music playing was just a bit too loud. Hospitality. Friendly and helpful. Owner-chef seemed very happy to be there, singing and engaging with his regulars. Offerings. Basic breakfast and lunch items with Turkish and Mediterranean classics. No flavored lattes but other basic espresso drinks offered. Chai was excellent. Had the Turkish coffee because it was a Turkish joint; was REALLY good; strong. We had the Simit Platter; sesame-like NY bagel, feta chunks, and olives. All very good. See pics. Apparently they offer cooking classes, catering, and meal prep pick-up -- for ever-changing healthier, fresh, easy-prep take-out options. Of Note and Last Impressions. Lot parking. Overall, fun.

It was tasty and even better with the bread they provided. It could've been packaged in a better way because the oil dripped out everywhere by the time we got it home. Maybe a plastic container with a tight fitting lid. The mezze platter was also quite nice, especially the carrot appetizer. The bulgur patties were also flavorful. The artichoke was slightly disappointing because it didn't have any other flavor than salt and vinegar, similar to canned/bottled artichokes. The salad was fresh and the dressing was light. Overall, this was a light and tasty lunch.

We all had grilled sandwiches which were basically tasteless and served lukewarm not hot. Also, we asked for one sandwich without pesto, and they didn't even get that right. I brought my husband here in his birthday because this place is the only place that serves Indonesian food close to Kalamazoo in Michigan. (Served on Friday and Saturday only) The Indonesian food offers last only until the end of November but i truly wish if they make it a permanent dish on the menu. We ordered beef rending and chocolate lovers toast. (The cafe is specialized in toast dessert) Oh my! I can't discribe enough how delicious both were. The beef was very tender and very delicious. It came with basmati Rice, salad , cucumber and Indonesian crackers. For $17 only. It was a good portion and it eas served in a very eyes satisfying way. Very good deal.100/10 The chocolate lovers toast was beyond our expectations, it came with vanilla ice cream and filled with cinnamon and chocolate sauce. 10/10 The owner cucu helped in celebrating my husband birthday and arranged for the surprise. There was a japanese maids show in the same day taking place at the cafe. Fun and entertaining! I highly recommend this place! And I am definitely considering myself a regular her from now on!

The place was nice and clean and had a nice coffee shop vibe. Freshly made brussel waffles and the combo leige waffles were fantastic. We shared the banana chocolate brussels waffle. The chef was even kind enough to give us a sample of a waffle she was trying out! Will definitely be back again soon!

The dark salted chocolate is a Belgian waffle but not your typical "we just used pancake mix to make your waffle". It was amazingly crunchy, sweet and satisfying. Also ordered the protein coffee and it wasn't so hot it would strip the tastebuds off my tongue but a very sensible "hot" coffee. You order at a kiosk and it's nice that they have a picture of every offering on the wall. Service is good. At least to me, place isn't very whimsical as I found the place very plain. Yes, I saw one round elven door but had no idea there were others. It's nice that they had toys and a table for the little ones but placement could have been better or more separated out since toys are between a regular table and the kids table. I assume if more children showed up it would be a bit challenging to be the table so very close to the toys. That said, sit away from the toys and make sure to order one of their delicious offerings!
