They do not compare to the quality, efficient, warm, and professional service that Manuel Memorial provides. From Angie, all the way down to their interns, they are all remarkable. They buried my sister in 2010. There was a discrepancy in the casket that was noticed the night before her funeral. Angie not only corrected the issue, but upgraded my sister's casket. We walked into the church the next morning and we shed tears not just because of our loss,but because of how beautifully she was prepared. She looked like the Princess that she was! Angie followed up with us weeks afterwards, to make sure we didn't need help with thank you cards! Since then, they have buried two of my uncles, a few family friends, and members of our church, all from our referrals. We even stop by just to say hello to them when we are in the area. Their staff is truly a family. I feel so indebted to them for going above and beyond their duty at such a pressing and dire time of our lives. I highly recommend them!

My mother's wake and funeral were in 1995, and my brother's wake and funeral were held at T&K in 2017. There was no problem, and our family was satisfied with everything. Both of these times, our dealings were with the same woman. My less than satisfactory experience with my husband's wake and funeral were overseen by a man (I won't even use his name). I've instructed both of my children that when I die, DO NOT hold my wake and funeral at Thomspon & Kuenster.

Since no other resolve was offered, I am requesting a refund because of the color content and the partially illegible wording on the printed obituaries. This occurred after the service, by the way, so none of the guests received the reprinted copies. Overall, I was very disappointed with the personnel, with the exception of Karen Jones. The lack of communication, the unwillingness to listen and lack of an attempt to resolve the issues I was experiencing that was taxing during an already stressful time. From the moment we sat down with Dan to make the arrangements, we immediately felt comfortable and supported. Dan guided us through everything with compassion and expertise. He was incredibly knowledgeable about my father's military benefits -- something we hadn't even thought about -- and he even went with us to the cemetery to help with those arrangements. Dan also coordinated the church services and luncheon, taking so much off our shoulders during an overwhelming time. The wake and funeral services were truly beautiful. The facility is clean, modern, and very well-kept. The staff was wonderful, and the slideshow they created was absolutely beautiful. Even a week later, when I returned to pick up the death certificates, the kindness and care from the staff remained just as genuine. It's heartbreaking that we needed these services, but I am so grateful that we chose Lawn Funeral Home. They made an incredibly devastating time as smooth and comforting as possible.

We were out and about visiting our moms for the upcoming Mother's Day, and had a stop here at St. John-St. Joseph's. This cemetery is very old, easily over 100 years, and is very well kept up. The grass is always mowed, and weeds don't run rampant around here. Also, the groundskeepers do an excellent job of righting any headstones that get too far off kilter. I like the fact that they let you visit and plant perennials or annuals at your gravesite. They don't guarantee anything, but you are welcome to try. Water is available at many spigots around the property to help you get plants settled in. I never worked with the property staff, and so cannot comment on same, but it is run by the Gary Diocese and I suspect run very well. Beautiful grounds and grounds-keeping ... recommended when you have loved ones in need.

The staff was great to deal with and everything the day of services/burial went without a hitch. I'll be back here time and time again when l want to say hi to my family and pay my respects.
