Well after almost 35 years I returned for a homecoming weekend. My 1st meal back in the homeland was at mayor Fenoglios bbq. I had a biscuit gravy with eggs sausage. All was good bottles. While seated there the locals were in as small town America jabbing at each other over their cup of coffee. I was able to talk to Mayor Robert and 2 of his brothers my dear friend David and Dan the downtown renaissance man. I loved the home town atmosphere and friendly service. Honestly, the brisket was so-so. It was a little dry and the fact that it was cut thick didn't help. The beans were delicious. My son's cornbread was more like a cupcake. I may stop again someday and try the burger based on other reviews. read more

Having never been to Nocona, we were looking forward to the local car museum and the baseball glove factory. A completely unexpected, and excellent surprise, was Fenoglios. Chopped beef sandwich, sliced beef sandwich, and the cheeseburgers were fantastic. "The best burger I've ever had," said my eight year old, and having tried it, he's maybe not wrong. Sourced from a local butcher, there was something special about that cheeseburger. Make sure to try the hot balls too; potato, cheese, and jalapenos, all mashed together and deep fried. Service was excellent and quick, prices were fair bordering on cheap. We highly recommend Fenoglios BBQ! read more

The food is great and you'll leave full for the same price you'd pay at Burger King. The owner, Robert Fenoglio, is also the mayor of the town. He's a warm and colorful man who'll strike up a conversation with you. Each day Fenoglios's BBQ & Station makes their own homemade beans. The french fries are hand-cut and never frozen. Chicken, pork, ribs, brisket, sausage. Oh yeah, you can get burgers and other items too. One of Robert's specialties is the Bowl of Crap. Some years ago a firefighter from Fort Worth asked for his homemade beans with grilled onions and jalapenos. In a future visit, the firefighter asked if some of Robert's brisket could be placed on top. Whenever the firefighter returned and was asked what he wanted he replied, "The same crap I had last time." And thus, the bowl of crap caught on. It's a bargain. Today, Robert serves the Ultimate Bowl of Crap, which is his homemade beans smothered in grilled onions, grilled jalapenos, hamburg, brisket and sausage. We drove 70 miles to give this place a try, first and last trip to Fenoglio's BBQ, I ask if they served Ribs, NO, that should have been my first clue, any respectfully BBQ establishment in Texas has Ribs. Moving on, I ask for a Brisket plate, WE ARE OUT OF BRISKET, this was at approximately at 12:45 on a Saturday afternoon, now I know I am in real trouble. Tried the chopped sandwich with fries, the meat was pre-chopped with a ton of BBQ sauce mixed in; all you could taste was the sauce. The fries were per cooked and held, they were soggy and limp. We could not finish either the sandwich or fries. If passing through Nocona don't stop here if you want GOOD BBQ. read more

Stayed in Nocona for a week with my production crew and ate here everyday. They have great breakfast burritos and tasty BBQ. Get the "Bowl of Crap!" The cook also makes his own hot sauce and it's fire. The owner, Mr. Fenoglio, is also the mayor of the town. He's a great guy and kept my crew happy. He and his daughter showed us around town and made sure we were comfortable and felt at home, despite being more than a thousands miles from home. They put us up in their beautiful, cozy and totally awesome inn down the road. Love this town and the Fenoglios. Wish I lived closer 'cause I would visit frequently. read more
