My ex was bringing me in on a modification trying to get a king's ransom in child support and cut back on both my time and legal rights with the kids. I had interviewed other attorneys and was told the cards were not in my favor and that regardless of how badly my ex behaved the system was going to operate in her favor because she was a non-working Mom and I was a working Dad (basically I was told to prepare for the worst). When I went over the details of my case with Chip he assured me that what I was dealing with (my ex's flagrant violations of orders and refusal to respect my role as a parent) was not OK and that he could fight to make the situation work better for me and my relationship with the kids. In brief, Chip was not only able to help me defeat my ex's attempt to undercut my ability to be a parent to my kids, he was able to help me win sole-legal and physical custody of my kids by helping the court see just how bad her behavior really was. To say that this reversal of fortune was a life-changer is an understatement. Chip found ways to get the court to see how unbalanced my ex was... she did us some favors along the way by no showing certain hearings and becoming more brazen in her willingness to violate orders... but had I been with any of the other attorneys I interviewed we wouldn't have even been in position to capitalize on her errors... they were all working to minimize how bad my losses would be rather than adopt the mindset of working toward a win for my relationship with the kids. It's a slight shift in mentality that paid major dividends as my case progressed. I found Chip easy to work with, responsive to feedback and questions, and open to modifying his approach dependent upon what I had in mind on any particular issue. His legal writing style was also a breath of fresh air after having had my legal rights trampled on for years. It cannot be overstated how nice it was to have someone in my corner who was serious about fighting for my rights... his ability to hold the line even when the case got increasingly more complicated made all the difference in the world. My former spouse hired Nick Plante as legal council to request Modification of Divorce agreement…read more(4th time). Attorney plante reached out to my previous attorney of which I did not hire. After receiving a demanding and threatening email stating the buyout and how it was to be handled, of which was not in my best interest. I promptly responded with an three (3) alternative means of resolution, that was in January of 2025. I left numerous phone messages requesting a call back along with emails of which Attorney Plante blatantly ignored me. I hired my own legal council and after wasting approximately $2000 and 5 months of waiting, Attorney Plante has ignored and ghosted my legal council along with myself. The matter being brought is frivoulous and without merit. He ignores and is disrespectful of other Attorney's time. He apparently takes the money and that's it. No real representation or follow thru on the matter. I did receive a complete insulting and low ball offer, only to be told that the had not run it by his client. Again have not heard anything from Attorney Plante since April 2025. DON'T BOTHER WASTING YOUR MONEY ON ATTORNEY PLANTE!
