I have had appointments with both Bill, and Emily, and both have been tremendous to work with. The last few years, Emily has been awesome answering any and all of my (probably) ridiculous questions. She is available via phone or email for any questions I have before or after my appointment. The best part is that I know I am getting what I am paying for, and that not only is awesome customer service but professionally done taxes that each year seem easier and easier because of some of the work and recommendations that Emily has made to help me owe less each year with different withholdings and tax exemptions I knew nothing about. She is not only super knowledgeable but she is very good at explaining things in a way that someone who knows little to nothing about accounting would understand. I appreciate both her, Bill, and Susan, and the "family-like" atmosphere each time I walk into their office. They are awesome people, they take their time, they answer your questions, and you'll never feel rushed during an appointment with them. My parents have gone to Bill and referred me in my 20s. I have been going to Bill for over 30 years. I have bought countless boxes of Girl Scout cookies from his daughter. Bill and Emily have been great until the incident I am about to explain. I received a letter (no phone call, no email) indicating that they will no longer be my accountant. Having no idea why and very concerned, I called to discuss. I left a message. TWO days later I received a call from Susan "apathetic" Brunell. (referring to me as Dominck when my name is Dan)I inquired why this would be happening. Were they closing? My parents went to them. I have referred my kids, my girlfriend (my wife passed from cancer) and my girlfriends' kids. She told me that the reason I am being dropped is my check was bad last year. I told her that I had no idea. I said no one called me to explain, as surely, I would have rectified the issue immediately. She said they sent a letter and an email. I stated that I never received anything at all. I requested that she send me one of the emails so I could make sure it was sent to the correct email. SHE FLAT OUT REFUSED? She refused to engage in any type of discussion despite me explaining our history together. Gosh I thought we were like family. She was very callous and just kept repeating we will not be retaining you as "a client", really? She eventually hung up on me. ****And yes this is all over a $200 check that I had given them. I had used an old checking account check that was no longer active. Well, well enough said. I have been in customer service over my 40 year working career and supervise individuals who provide customer service daily. If they ever treated ANYONE in this fashion, they would be put on corrective action immediately and would be required to attend seminars on how to interact with customers. Susan, I have some excellent classes I could recommend. So, if you want to go to a mediocre tax individual that may have the WORST customer service, starting with Susan, then I have ever met, then you have come to the right place. Best of luck. They told us they could do all our book keeping then called to say last minute - no we can't. This year with two returns left to do called and said we no longer feel we're a fit and therefore immediately will be stopping. I could write for an hour but suffice to say DO NOT USE OR RECOMMEND anyone to them as all they care about is purchasing other accounting firms and growing to sell versus any care whatsoever for their clients. If you're a past Paul Dion client like we were you may as well leave now before they cut you off if it doesn't "fit" for them and leave you hanging.
