Thankfully, the customer service and quality work they provided us was just as good as their reviews -- and, in our opinion, even better! They listened to our ideas, studied our simple sketch, walked the yard, offered suggestions, measured carefully -- twice -- and gave a detailed estimate. We made a few minor revisions before giving them the go-ahead. They were patient and attentive to the details, transferring thoughts to paper with prices up front. When the time came to begin work, the crew (Uriel and brother, Rolando, along with father, Vincent, and friend of the family, Gerardo), showed up on time and prepared to work -- hard. When met with unexpected events, the crew stayed calm and dedicated to the tasks at hand. When a large and aged, rotting tree collapsed as thick vines were cut away, they brought in a chainsaw and got to work clearing the back quarter of our yard and fence line. The guys built the gates to match the rustic style of the split rail fence and cleaned up nicely. Though the days here hot and conditions were sometimes miserable, the crew remained upbeat and pleasant. It was great having them here and getting to know them. Fortress recently decided to start installing commercial fences only. Okay, fine. Because they didn't tell me what I needed to do to prepare in advance for their visits. The first time, they said they needed the site survey. Okay, the second time I had that available. But then they said they needed all of the corners marked by a survey company. So I hired a survey company for $250 to mark the corners. And then they came a third time, gave me a quote that didn't reflect the borders I'd requested, and when I tried to correct it, they dropped my job entirely in exchange for commercial business. Meanwhile, my neighbor had a plan with Fortress for installation, though they hadn't signed a contract yet. They dropped her job, too, in favor of commercial business... and never actually told her. I had to tell her myself! I called the owner of the company to complain and left a voicemail, and never heard anything back. What terrible customer service. I guess in hindsight, I'm glad to give my business to a different fencing company - to one that actually cares about how they treat people.
