If they screw something up and say they will be back... you can count on a no show, no call, and the silent treatment. As someone who has spent north of ~40k, it's sad. You wouldn't expect that from Mike. Still have the red wax and colored caulk smeared all over my new deck boards and face boards. They did make sure to soak it with gasoline before leaving. Thats awesome on composite. Like Mike says, "just hide it with WD40 if it still shows." I'd love to remove this. I'd love to have him call me back. If you see this and are considering using him and he picks up the call. Ask about me. Tell him I'd love a call back. Respect is earned just like reputation. Sad. Mike if you see this, don't worry about sealing the colored and stamped concrete I had you do under the deck. You can keep the money. I got it taken care of. We were very excited about what we heard from Mike, so we hired them. We were given a time frame that they would start, but it ended up being several months later. That winter was an extremely cold one. No problem! We also agreed that they would take down the leaning part of the fence right away. They did not do that. As a result, we received a violation notice from the city. Mike was nice enough to contact the city and let them know we had hired them and came and took down the leaning part. Fast forward a few months later, they finally get the fence up. Shortly thereafter there was an issue. We were told we have a 7 year warranty, so we called them. After multiple calls, they came out and fixed it. Great! Currently, one of my gates is literally falling apart. So, of course we reached out to Mike again. My husband initially reached out to Mike at the beginning of last year. He told my husband, they were behind again because of the weather, but they would take care of us. Great! No problem! Quite a bit of time passed so we started reaching out to Mike again. We texted and called all of last year and have not received any kind of response. I don't typically do reviews, but to be completely non-responsive is not ok. Unfortunately, they do not honor their word, so we will have to find another company to fix our fence. I really hate that they have chosen to do business this way. I would not recommend them.

The next day I called again and they said someone would call me and they never did. I never did hear from them anymore. My job was pretty small so maybe they just didn't want a small job.

I abstained from writing a public review when the fence was installed 5 years ago after an…read moreabsolutely deplorable install process. That is a choice I now regret. In July 2023, a wind storm pulled one of the fence posts away from the house. I naively paid for the repair in full in advance and now regret that as - once again - Chesley Fence techs have lied about their install practices not only to the ladies in the office but also to me, the customer. Attached are photos of before and "after" the repair from Oct 30, 2023. The Chesley tech literally claimed to have fixed it and between the time they left and I got home a few hours later, the wind must have blown it again. Keep in mind this was on Oct 30, 2023 and there was no storm or high winds on the day of the repair. I will be taking legal action if Chesley is unable or unwilling to rectify this problem. Attached are photos of the before and after. It appears that Chesley Fence is living off their old (and better) reputation but it seems that their quality expired when Tom Chelsey retired.

They even managed to toss in the fast that they local big box stores have fencing that is subpar. Not that I asked but I guess that is the attempt to discourage you from going there to get quotes. Out of all the companies I talk with Chesley was the only one to have negative things to say about another fence installer company.. I won't even get into how they are overpriced by almost 2 thousand dollars for the same job quoted be all the others.

Very disappointed with the professionalism of this company and quality of the product. First off…read morethey emailed Sunday night saying someone needed to be home at 0800 the next day to confirm placement. Luckily we didn't take off work because they canceled that day. Almost every single post had multiple scratches. We called and complained the first day and was told they would touch it up. After installation was complete, it was evident no touch ups were done. The owners stated that they can't control how the poles arrive to them. They suggested we buy paint and touch them up ourselves. When you spend 6 grand on a fence you expect there to be minimal damage to start. After multiple emails, they stated that when they had time they could bring a can of spray paint to try to pacify us. Also gate was very uneven among other issues. Still charged us full amount even though the poles were all damaged.
