Felly's Flowers is an institution in the Madison area, serving the community for decades. That said, my recent experience was "utter failure". I called before noon for next morning delivery. On hold so long, finally called back. I had picked out a couple of examples from the website, the person answering was not familiar with their examples on the web. While she was searching, she suggested an arrangement she'd made "the week before" ... I declined the offer, as I preferred "fresh" flowers. She eventually came up with something "similar" to the examples on Felly's web site. Said she could not get them delivered timely the next morning, so we agreed on "this afternoon before five". The location would hold them for me until morning. She never gave me the final amount, I'm estimating $175. The ordering process took over a half hour!! When we arrived at the event the next morning, there were no flowers. I called Felly's and the person said they'd be delivered "this afternoon" .... Which would be after the event! She acknowledged an error had been made and "apologized". I asked if she could get them delivered yet in the morning, but despite their error that was a definite "no". Afternoon, after the event, take it or leave it. I canceled the order. I got a call back and the person acknowledged there had been an error and "apologized". Asked if I still wanted the order...I stuck to the cancellation as the event would be past. The employees didn't seem to understand how the timing could be important. I had originally called a Felly's location near the delivery point. I now believe deliveries are prepared at a central location, so it may be prudent to call their main number. They may have more knowledgeable people, less prone to error and a better chance of getting delivery when agreed upon. Or, you may try a more "hands on" florist for your orders with better product knowledge and care. read more

We ordered flowers the day of my mother-in-law's birthday. We picked an arrangement and upgraded to the deluxe version. We paid $215 not including a tip. This included a $12 delivery fee. The arrangement that came looked exactly like the regular arrangement. - minus about four stems of hydrangea. While the flowers were fresh, this was NOT the deluxe version - it had maybe eight roses, two stems of lilies, and about five stems of bells of Ireland with a little eucalyptus and two very anemic green hydrangea. It was absolutely NOT filled to value, which is a requirement of most wire services. Felly's clearly didn't think that we would know any better. However, I worked as an executive in the floral industry, and I've personally done flowers for weddings on multiple occasions. I know what this cost to put an arrangement together. In fact, I just did my daughter's baby shower, including six large arrangements for $200, sourcing flowers from wholesalers and Trader Joe's. This $215 arrangement probably cost them less than $45 all in. Sufficed to say - We will not be going to Felly's with future business. read more

After working in a flower shop for more than 10 years, I am pretty particular about my flowers. These were the nicest red roses I can ever remember receiving. They were delivered on January 16 and they are just as beautiful today! Driver was communicative and made sure not to leave them outside since we weren't home. My boyfriend purchased 2 dozen roses to be delivered for Valentine's Day. Sadly they never got delivered and we had to call- they told him they forgot to put it in the system. That's a huge mistake on Valentine's Day! we were told they were going to deliver the flowers the next day and for the inconvenience they were going to add more flowers but the flowers arrived today with not even 1 extra flower. The staff has been very polite and helpful every time we have gone into the store or spoken with someone on the phone. I had asked them to make me a grand bouquet of flowers for a friend who just got out of the hospital. They had a very nice bouquet in the refrigerator of large roses but I wanted something more spring. I told them I would be back in two hours to pick them up. I told them by budget was $100. Well I must say upon my return I was more then disappointed. The flowers where not GRAND at all. Just a regular bouquet that I could have put together myself. They put the vase in the box and I noticed the vase was very full but she said it would be fine. I put them in the front seat to ensure safe travel. On December 8th I sent my Aunt flowers without making sure she was home. Of course she was out of town. I received a call from one of the associates, who could have not been nicer. I live in California and thought for sure they would have just left the flowers at the door. Nope! They called me and when I told them what happened they sent my aunt a brand new bouquet at no charge when she came back from her vacation. I will always use them to send gifts to my aunt. Felly's Flowers was great to work with. I had them deliver a bouquet of flowers and a mylar balloon to my sister-in-law, sameday, for her birthday. All of the ladies I spoke with on the phone were extremely sweet and helpful. I even called the next day to confirm delivery. A little disappointed in Felly's Flowers in Monona. My wife is working through some health issues and some friends sent her flowers last week. Felly's tried to deliver the flowers on Saturday but no one was home at the time and they wouldn't leave the flowers on the stoop. They left a note to call so I did around 4:00 PM to schedule a delivery time. They don't deliver after 4:00 PM on Saturdays and they don't deliver on Sundays at all. I scheduled a delivery on Monday at 4:30 PM since my wife would be home at that time. On Monday, my wife called Felly's to let them know that she was not going to be home until 4:45 PM on Monday. Felly's said they could not deliver that late. She made arrangements to have the flowers delivered on Tuesday to her office by 2:00 PM as she would be leaving for an appointment at that time. Felly's did not show up until 2:15 that day. First of all, my wife really didn't need the stress of trying to get delivery of flowers scheduled that was convenient for Felly's. Secondly, Felly's felt no need to make sure fresh flowers that were to be delivered on Saturday got delivered quickly. Seems like their customer service skills need to be a little fresher. I would suggest trying another florist if you want to make sure flowers get to the the person when you want them delivered. read more

I'm in Boston and had a gift basket and flowers sent to my GF's Madison hotel. I asked Felly's to replace the generic card that typically accompanies flowers with my handwritten card, which I'd overnighted to them. Not only did they handle my request with grace, they also stylishly put the card inside the wrapped basket itself and put up with my phone calls asking if everything was going according to plan. Not impressed, ordered flowers for a friends bday and they were not available at university ave location, so had to pick them up in monona, which is fine, I wanted a specific flower, so when I got to the monona store, the flowers which had already been paid for were very different (much much smaller bouquet) than what I was told I'd be getting, after questioning the cashier, i was told that was what you get for the price I'd paid, poor customer service, the cashier knew I wasn't happy but didn't seem to care. read more
