We visited Italy and Croatia right after Hurricane Sandy. In fact, our flight was originally planned to link through EWR New Jersey as the hurricane hit. Needless to say, our flight was cancelled, as were our next rescheduled flights. Throughout this, I was in contact with Feliz in Roma and our other booked lodging for our month's planned vacation. Federico was most understanding and accommodating of our change of plans, unlike other establishments who, understandably, charged sometimes very high cancellation fees. Feliz in Roma made the necessary changes when possible, and gave us a break on fees we could not recover from the booking agency. I recommend booking directly, if possible. During a very stressful time, his cooperation and understanding was a boon to my increasing confusion as I dealt with the many changes and adaptations for a planned month-long vacation.
We used Feliz in Roma as the hub of our trip, as we needed to return to Rome for our flight to Croatia and back. With the changes in dates, we ended up staying on 4 separate occasions, and Alberta stored our large luggage pieces in between, so we only needed to carry small pieces for our various shorter forays to other cities. This was such a considerate option, which is typical of the gracious and helpful hosting of the entire family.
Feliz in Roma is perfectly situated for touring Rome. A short walk in either direction takes you to the Coliseum and surrounding museums and other attractions, or the Basilica San Giovanni in Laterano, and the bus and metro hub of Porta San Giovanni. Just a block away is the beautiful and historically fascinating Basilica di San Clemente. Close by on the street are small groceries, which are useful as Feliz in Roma has a small, well-equipped kitchen for the use of guests.
Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well equipped. Although we were over a busy street, our room was quiet. Our hosts were warm and welcoming. I recommend Feliz in Roma wholeheartedly. read more
