This was a great find for a place to stay in Rome. Located within a 5-minute walk of the Trastevere train station (train to/from airport and to Civitavecchia if you're taking a cruise), and a light rail across the street that takes you straight into the heart of Rome, Trastevere Chic is a combination of an airbnb and a hotel. I was surprised to see that it seemed like someone's apartment with shared kitchen area (coffee maker and continental breakfast provided) and 3-4 bedrooms (I didn't get an exact count) for guests. Each room has its own keys/card the apartment itself has a locked gate at the main entrance and an entry code for the door to the apartment. The room I got was for three people, with a balcony, one single and one double bed and a small bathroom with standup shower. Rooms were fairly quiet, as I didn't hear any of the other guests. Although we did run into another family of four also staying there, perhaps they had a bigger room? There was also free wifi and a girl (Chris) who sort of ran the place while we there (replaced towels, replenished the food/coffee) and answered all questions we had. Also located nearby are a few convenience stores that sell bottled water, some that make deli sandwiches (delicious meats and cheeses), and pharmacies.
Only real complaint was the teeny tiny, claustrophobic elevator. My family and I only had carry-on sized bags and the three of us with our bags was a really, really tight squeeze into the elevator... and it was so tiny, I opted to take the stairs for the rest of the trip. read more
