If my child was sick I would of been more furious. I asked the medical assistant, they cut back so no 'licensed' medical staff except the one seems patients on weekends, if there was a room were I could sit. Since we were the 2nd patient. She said yes but didn't move us. I'm 58 and my kegs were killing me! Then she told us our Md was not that morning. The practice is run horribly even the staff know it. My husband & I actually work at hospitals in NYC and for us to write a negative review is really big. We took off and drove to the primary location to see a Md. Medicine is a business. Our insurance pays the sane fir a visit whether it's Md or NP. But the level of experience and knowledge is paramount and vastly different.

The one thing I will say is that don't believe them when they say "We take your insurance" yes they take your insurance but that doesn't mean that your insurance is going to pay! With that being said, a few months later we received a bill of almost $3000 for scans that were NOT covered by our insurance. Needless to say he still had to repeat the MRI because Open MRI's are not of great quality when your getting pre-opt for surgery, just have the correct scan done! Front desk staff were pleasant. The lady who does scans in the evening was very comforting. But there was an older gentleman who does only specific MRI's that was a bit rude, according to my husband, I wasn't there for that scan. I did enjoy the conversations with Dr. Conte. He has an amazing heart and so many stories to tell.

Only thing they need to do is help their staff be more prepared by providing enough sheets, blankets, gowns and other necessities for the patients. As the next of kin for his medical care no one reached out to tell me about what was going going. They refused to take him to the hospital and actually tried to hide his illness from me. Upon arriving at the center I had to demand from the supervisor that he be transferred to the hospital. He was totally dehydrated and in a very bad state with quite possibly a case of pneumonia. My brother would lay in his bed day after day with little or no care or attention. On several occasions I found him with his pampers full of feces and urine. When I asked for help it either came an hour later if it came at all. The workers focused on stocking towels and bedsheets and not on the people who laid in their beds all day long. The supervisor are even less caring and spend most of their time staring at the monitors and barely want to speak with you when you ask a question. Although my brother had suffered a stroke he was alert and cognizant enough to understand that the management and workers at this facility had no intention of making him better and only wanted to hold onto him for as long as possible in order to milk the Medicaid coverage. They were supposed to have provided physical, occupational and speech therapy. My brother was there for four weeks and he did not receive one minute of these services although they probably did bill Medicaid for these services which were never delivered. Stay away from this place if you care about your family or any loved one. I cannot express this strongly enough.

There was no wait and the woman at the front desk was friendly. I was then taken to the examination room where the nurse took my weight and vitals. I asked for blind weight and she respected that. Dr Patel made me feel very at ease. She was thorough and sympathetic when I talked about some of my issues. I would definitely return to see her again. St Joseph is also part of a larger network of doctors so it makes it easy to get other specialist services and share results with your primary care physician.
