I have a filling that's cracked but before "Dr. Sam" even looked he was mentioning a root canal! I know my teeth, Dr K has replaced a few of my fillings and even done 2 crowns. When he pointed to a filling on the x-ray and called it a crown, then argued when I said it wasn't a crown, I knew my days coming here were OVER!!! I posted that in a Google review and they came back saying things that should not be posted to the public. They also sent me a denial letter telling me they will only take care of me for EMERGENCY purposes only and for only the next 30 days! I guess that is ok since I am never going there again! Some more on the visit that I didn't put in the original review: He walked in and said "It looks like you're going to need a root canal." That was how he greeted me, you would think open your mouth and let me see where the problem is would have been more appropriate! But, who am I to have a mind? When I went into the Coast Guard in 2007 and came back one of the dental assistants remembered everything about me, which took me by surprise. I find it nice to find a family friendly establishment that is not about just making money or getting patients in and out, but the overall experience from check in to check out. I also had to have a night guard done which they did as well with no problems. Other than that went in for standard cleanings and checkups. My siblings had cavities and other teeth and gum issues which are corrected now/improving and they attribute that to the staff of this dental office. Dr. Katz himself is very friendly and knows a lot about dentistry. We loved the office so much that My mom and I continued to take days off of work during the week to drive down from DC to make our appointments in Hampton (we are really particular about who pokes and messes around in or mouths) until recently when I found a new dentist. If you are in the 757/Peninsula area I would highly recommend Dr. Katz. The office is in Fox Hill ( a nice neighborhood), if you need to pull you kids out of a nearby school (Syms, Spratley, Phoebus) to have them come in it's close to those locations, and the service overall is just great I love this location so much and I would still say I am a regular patient; however, due to gas prices and the distance I can no longer make the journey. :(
