When I told him about my panic attacks, he told me to exercise and pray more. He mentioned the cross necklace I was wearing and asked me if my faith was superficial or deep. Such a joke. So I started seeing specialist from pulmonologist hematologist, my primary who referred me to.Dr. Leo. After a year and a half of echo tests, stress echoes, ultrasound, X-rays, blood samples,, etc.. my fatigue and shortness of breath, progressed to the point where I felt I couldn't even take the trash out on my home, I'll bring groceries in from the store. . During the 2 years I was not the best patient. I was confused, frustrated, and scaredto leave my daughter. I wanted urgency Immediately. if I didn't get it then I made sure I made it hard on everybody at his office Until I did get it.(btw everyone in his office are great and I apologized to all of them) Dr. Leo handled it professionally as he always does, brutally honest lol and that's what I liked from day one. it was a scary two years for me but Dr Leo and his staff were always there, especially Gigi. Eventually Dr. Leo did an angiogram on me and we found out my heart rate was at 15%.. Dr. Leo immediately that day requested for a life vest rep go to my room at the hospital to fit me for a life vest defibrillator then I would have to wear 24 hours a day until an ICD would be implanted. Now it's May 2, 2026 it's been two days since the implant and I feel very lucky to be alive thanks Dr. Leo you're a Rockstar!!!

1 Star - Reception Manager Shelley's Lies & Dr. Etehad's Cover-Up Harm Patients…read more Dr. Etehad is an excellent doctor, and his staff (except one) are stellar! But the reception manager Shelley's actions are unacceptable. After switching providers in Bakersfield, my new doctor faxed a records request five weeks ago--I saw the fax confirmation. Shelley ignored it, lied in an email to me claiming she never got it, and even after I emailed her last week demanding she notify my doctor by the next day, she didn't call (I even gave her the information). My new doctor confirmed yesterday they've received anything. When I left a message and confronted Shelley, I demanded to speak to Dr. Etehad. He claimed he didn't get the request, clearly protecting her despite the fax proof AND EMAIL with my new doctors information excusing her delay that's stalling my care. My new doctor's office is confused why only Shelley handles records releases. Shelley's done this before. For my annual mammogram with prescribed ultrasound, she told radiology only one breast was approved, forcing me to choose--shocking their manager. When I needed my file for housing paperwork, she refused, then made me wait 15 minutes while she dawdled. For over a decade, I've endured Shelley's rude, condescending attitude toward me and others. Dr. Etehad seems aware but won't fire her. Shelley's lies and HIPAA violations risk patient health. I'm reporting to the California Medical Board. Avoid this practice until she's gone!

Really scary to go to a new doctor but even the other doctors in the practice could not get any insurance group to offer coverage, unless you had a PPO or paid cash. The staff and other doctors there are amazing but I had to change to a new doctor that took my insurance. Really sad. I wrote a letter in support of DR O but it seems either the process takes a lot of time for the appeal or the evidence was too strong for reversal. They ran a good office and if one day Dr O is vindicated or they take my insurance again, I would consider returning as a patient.

She suffered respiratory failure and was transferred to Northridge Hospital where she was in ICU for at least a week. Dr. Okhovat did a phenomenal job orchestrating all the necessary specialist MD consults and retreived my mom from deaths door. He was always kind, patient, and available to answer our questions before and after this very serious hospital admission for our mom. We hope he returns to the practice soon, he's a godsend.

You can call him directly anytime the office is closed, but staff are wonderful, and it is a calm, welcoming ,professional environment and he is a super doctor. He lets you talk and explain and ask questions and has excellent suggestions and huge knowledge of all things medical.
