I like the capabilities of the style of reformer they use and the variety of classes they offer. Since I began my journey two years ago, I've worked out at each of their locations and tried every type of class. I can confidently say I am the fittest I've been since my teen days of playing sports! And I am constantly amazed and excited to experience how strong I am. I appreciate that each instructor has their own style and that the classes consist of folks from all different fitness levels. If you've ever been curious, whether you're new to fitness or a seasoned athlete, I highly recommend taking classes at LA Pilates!

I started out with a month membership in July 2023 as a new student to try it out having recently undergone a surgery and wanted to ease myself into incorporating movement back into my life. I ended up getting way much more than I expected. I found a practice that not only challenged me physically but mentally as well. Needless to say, I decided soon after my month was up that I'd continue on my journey for the 6 month package. I'm almost two months in and I'm gaining so much more insight about my mind and body with the guidance of every instructor and their unique style of practice. I'm really excited about my future with the healing benefits of this discipline. If you're curious, sign yourself up for the month too and see what you think. It just might be the type of change you were looking for.

Hi Aubrey, Thank you for your response. While the suggestion from Giovanni to try a different class…read moremay have been intended to be helpful, it came across as discouraging due to the assumptions made, particularly the emphasis that a gentle yoga class would be better suited for me. This made me feel embarrassed and out of place. It was my first time at your studio, and I chose that specific class because it was the only option available on the schedule and I was looking for a workout rather than relaxation. I was also surprised by the question regarding my yoga experience, as I do have a background in the practice. Following our interaction, I consulted my physician, who confirmed that I am fully cleared for strenuous activity. I am unsure what prompted the assumption that I was not capable, but the experience left me feeling unnecessarily doubtful of myself. I share this feedback constructively, as these elements impacted my overall impression of the studio. I appreciate your openness and wish you and your studio continued success.

We start warming up our body by tapping our dahn-jon, (under the belly button) to increase our energy core. We do a blend of Tai Chi, Qigong, wooden pillow, sleeping tiger, stretching, etc. Every tapping or movement has a healing meridian and purpose for our body and our brain. Master Laura, Master Jeanette, and Instructor Grace gently guide us and remind us to breathe and exhale (which sometimes I forget). After meditation and closing exercises, I feel content and relaxed, ready to share that feeling with other people and have a joyful day.
