After several months of listening to her talk about the convenience, and the quality of the meals I decided to join. Meals are $13.00 each, and are delivered Monday through Friday. I chose to have meals delivered three times a week. Meal portions are plentiful. Meals were waiting for me when I got home, which was really, really nice. All I had to do was pop the meal into the microwave, and ooo la la dinner is ready. The meals are tasty. Some meals had strange seasonings for my liking, but were still tasty and filling. Most meals had a lot of carbs with little amounts of protein for my liking, so I ended up canceling. When I canceled via the website the owner/chef called me, and by the tone of her voice wasn't happy with my decision. I canceled in the middle of the week, and therefore they weren't going to deliver my Friday meal. When I asked her about it, she said "Well do you still want it? I said "Well, I paid for it, didn't I?" My meal was delivered on Friday in a brown paper bag, and they picked up their insulated shopping bag/cooler that they loan you. If you are looking for a food delivery service in town I would recommend these guys, if you are not watching your carb count, and are not a big carnivore eater.

I picked up a bag filled with breakfast, lunch/dinner meals & 2 types of delicious gluten free muffins! I have only tried 2 of the meals. The Teriyaki chicken had great flavor, a generous chicken portion & tasty "fried" brown rice. The 2nd meal I tried was the Egg White Scramble & Potato breakfast. This was so filling! I'm a hearty eater & I'm not gonna lie, the container looked small. BUT when I actually ate it I was surprised by how much fluffy flavorful egg white it had w the perfect amount of potato wedges. We always order the dinner platters that include fried rice, gyoza, egg rolls, and soup and it's so much food we always have leftovers. We've always done takeout but there are some tables in the restaurant. Chinese takeout is not meant to be gourmet or fancy and Red 8 delivers the most comforting and familiar flavors. We ordered two bagels and both were seriously lacking: the bagel itself was stale and wasn't even toasted, and the cream cheese tasted like it came straight from a store-brand tub. We also got two donuts and they were alright. They tasted day-old, though. However, the bigger issue was cleanliness. The floors were visibly dirty, and I could literally see donuts and bagels lying on the ground in the kitchen/prep area. That's a huge red flag for a food establishment. On top of all that, the service was not great--the staff seemed uninterested and not very helpful. It was an awkward experience from the moment we walked in. This visit was incredibly disappointing. I'm sure there are many who love Nigh-Time but I doubt I'll ever go back.
