Our visit to this restaurant was probably the STRANGEST encounter I've ever had when dining out. If we're being completely honest, the entire debacle and the way Feature's staff handled the whole situation was almost out of a comedy skit. We arrived on Saturday in the late afternoon, so it was pretty dead inside. We all sat down and ordered a round of drinks and some appetizers to start. While we wait for our food, some of us decide to get up and go outside for a smoke. As we are next to the building, we are chased down by THREE Feature employees, all yelling at our group, all at once. We were so confused until we find out they are actually accusing us of dining and dashing. I almost had to laugh as I inform these detectives that there are still people sitting at our table. If they would have taken two seconds to glace back at our table from where they were standing, they would have seen there are still people there. Instead, all of them thought it was a better idea to essentially bombard us and call us thieves. I was actually completely appalled, I have never been chased down and accosted by staff at a restaurant. It was my first time in this town so.. maybe it's a Naperville thing? I don't know, but either way it left a terrible taste in ALL of our mouths. When we returned we got our check and left after deciding not to give them any more of our business for that entire, embarrassing ordeal. On top of all this, the employees actually had the nerve to go up to the rest of our guests at the table, and tell them that if we don't come back, they had to pay for it!!! At 30 years old, I have never been chased down by restaurant employees for one beer and an order of cheese curds. Features is a fun bar to come to at night. However, I recommend people stick to going during a drunken night out, and not going in the day time for food or afternoon cocktails. I asked for a seasonal martini. They don't have them. So I went off menu, that's on me. I got a martini that was not filled (pictures included). When my wife and I asked if we could get a filled drink, the - I'm assuming - manager brought back the same drink and said that it's the same amount of alcohol. That wasn't my issue. My martini, like any martini, is supposed to be filled so perhaps they just didn't mix correctly. She said if she gives me more mix, it won't taste right. I said okay then I guess just give it to me since it isn't a fixable issue (to her). I didnt wanna argue, we only came there for one and were going to leave. She said because I "felt like you got cheated," she'll give me half off. THAT I didn't appreciate. It's not about how I felt as this isn't a subjective matter. It was done incorrectly and I was just going to eat it and leave but she made it seem like it was MY issue. If your bartenders know what they're doing, this wouldnt be an issue. My wife and friends that were there have all bartended. We weren't rude, we just wanted what we paid for. I do not recommend this place. The people running the door and fake checking ID's are just the worst. Rude and we had a huge group inside and stepped out for about 2 minutes and this rude kid running the front door was way too busy with tik tok on his phone to even check IDs and made us wait in the whole line when we had already been in there for some time after he said we wouldn't have to. One afternoon while I visiting my family in my hometown, my father and I agreed to dine here for our "Daddy and Daughter" date. My father has a seafood allergy so we were happy to find a restaurant where he can dine that seafood did not take over the menu. My father ordered a cheese burger with a pop and I ordered the " Grilled Ribeye Steak Sandwich" (I was strangely craving a steak) and virgin mojito. My virgin mojitos were perfect! The bartender who was also our server was very friendly and made my dad who rarely dines out comfortable which made me really happy! The sandwich was amazing! I was a little shocked on how well cooked and plated it was. The french roll was soft yet toasted and butter to perfection. My meat was tender and filled with flavor. The onions and mushrooms added a great balance to the sandwich. The side sauce which reminded me of a honey mustard was also very tasty. The french fries and pickle spear was a nice addition to the entree. Overall this was great experience because my father and I haven't ate out together in probably a decade. Again, I live across the county. We both were well satisfied with our meal, and my dad is a hard critic. My parents look forward to returning to dine here soon! read more

Lobster bisque was pretty good, small bowl was not small, quite salty, very little lobster but still good. Everything comes with plain potato chips (from a bag, not house-made) Unless you pay upcharge. They were out of their supposedly famous chicken salad that my friend wanted, which is just ridiculous and at 6:00PM on Saturday night. AND only sugar or sweet N Low, no Splenda or stevia, for iced tea; ridiculous In this day & age. The place was totally empty at dinner time while all the restaurants around were packed with hour+ waits so kind of weird. Server was just ok; she did that "memorize the order" thing but then had to come back a couple times to ask...silly. Also not sure why the server would bring it at the same time as my burger so one or the other would get cold... and from the skin on top, it sat a while. She was also alternating between attentive and MIA at crucial times while again, there was literally no one else there. Anyway, mixed experience. My first and last time there was not a great experience. Service is not great! I went on an empty Saturday night and for some reason the bartender was so slow I walked away and tried a different bar area. PSA for women wanting to use the restroom here, there is an older woman that watches you while you are in the stall. I noticed her watching people as I waited in line and confronted her. She then proceeded to watch me (Illegal right?!?). This woman said she was a "volunteer" and is monitoring what people do in the restroom. I found the owner (white older woman) and she told me what the "volunteer" was doing was acceptable and that's her job. The owner did not care and showed no intent on changing what this volunteer was doing. I personally like to use the restroom in private so I will not be back. Its still indoors, but they open up the front windows so its like your sitting outside. The bartender didn't have a lot of personality and she spoke so softly I couldn't hear a word she said. The mai tai was good, but I swear she gave me a corona and not a stella. The murmuring bartender swore up and down it was stella, but even still it came in a corona glass, not a stella glass, and the taste was not the same. Wasn't happy about that. My first time here was about 5 years ago for my birthday. I came for dinner and my first legal drink in a bar! We had a large table full of family and friends. The food was good - but nothing to write home about. The drinks though - delish! Those bartenders know how to make a good cocktail, and martini for that matter. If you get here before 10 pm you are guaranteed to find a good seat or post up at the bar, but later on in the evening though it gets pretty packed. My favorite thing about features is that you can basically be at three completely different bars depending where you sit and what time you come in. If you come in early you'll get a great spot to have a decent meal and enjoy a cocktail. If you come in a little later, the DJ will be going and the dance floor will be rockin'. If you head up to the roof top bar, you'll find a casual atmosphere that is fantastic in the summer. I personally enjoy the mixed venue. It's lively regardless, but the vibe does change depending on the time of night and where you choose to hang out in the bar. It's totally worth checking out! I've never had a bad time. read more

She had no idea what a hot toddy was, but since it was a full bar I didn't see why not and sent her to ask the bartender. She came back saying they could, and shortly came back with the most pallid-looking hot toddy I'd ever seen. Tasted ok; I don't know if they used white tea or something, or just didn't steep it long, but it was very blonde in color. At least it was hot. I ordered the lobster bisque and a fish sandwich. The lobster bisque was very tasty: creamy, complex, not fishy, with actual chunks of lobster meat in it. The fish sandwich was ok, but not really exciting. Better than a Filet-o-Fish, but nothing thrilling. Environment was classy-cozy, with ambient lighting and a big fabric-padded wall to absorb sound that also served as decor. Our service was earnest if a little clueless. Overall, Features was about on par with Rizzos or such in downtown N'ville as far as food and service. Not bad, though you could probably do better if you tried. read more

If I could give this place a crappier rating, I would. The owners there are the rudest people ever. I got kicked out twice from there (by an old ass guy, assuming its the owner?) simply from dancing with friends because we looked drunk. We were all sober and started our night there. We didnt even have drinks yet. The bouncers also ask you questions on end about your damn ID or simply wont let you back into the bar if you step out for any reason. I've seen a line out to the door to this place a few times - once full of girls all dressed in dresses and heels so I assumed it had more of a club-type atmosphere. We did our own bar hopping for St. Patrick's Day weekend and made our way in as it was before midnight...and everyone was out just to have a good time sporting our green so it wasn't going to be a dress & heels night in this place regardless. After The Lantern & Jimmy's, we made our way in for more beer...and well, food. There were several tables open and I'd say it was more of a lounge-type place. It took some time to have our server come by to get our drink order and give us menus. It wasn't even crowded - that is my only complaint. Big props to the $5 24oz bottles of Miller Lite, now that was awesome! I don't think I've ever been to a bar that sold that size bottles of beer! The menu was good - in fact I couldn't even figure out what I wanted to eat but settled for a buffalo chicken sandwich. The Owner Riff, who likes to be called "Black Rain" by staff LMAO... Is a snob as well. The Security, (Bouncers) are great guys, BUT are ran poorly by management guidelines... For example: Security Mgr., (Brian) tells the door hosts to "hold" the entrance line, just too make it appear that the place is packed and where-to-be, although it clearly NEVER is, AND they did this tactic every weekend EVEN THIS WINTER when the temperature was below freezing... Features has NO respect for anyone or anything, except their bank account! Plus their raise beer prices upon busier nights! SMH!! Was trying to celebrate my friends birthday and was not let in since the manager didn't "feel comfortable" with my ID since it was issued in Alaska. He said it didn't look like any other Alaskan ID he has seen. Alaska changed their design about two years ago and it is unfortunate that the manager of this establishment was not up to date with how IDs from every state look. Features should be embarrassed. Other people had issues being let in and were not even given reasons the bouncers were flustered and rude. Be weary going here if you're from outside of Illinois. Do not come here. The music sucks, they don't accept all forms of payment, and the bouncers are the absolute worst. Chicago bouncers are a lot less stringent than these guys. They refused my entry because I changed my hair and look younger and even after I showed him my credit/debit card with my name on it he still had to call the manager out to confirm my age. Whoever that was should be fired. I also tried to use my discover card to pay for my drinks and they told me they don't accept that form of payment there. The bar specials could use some work as they are extremely limited to things like Miller and Bud lite, $4 rum and coke, and another beer thrown in. The bartenders are friendly though and on the Monday before Christmas, it was dead in here so we got our drinks quickly. Features has been the first stop on our pre-Christmas Eve bar crawl for several years. I like the lounge feel to it but the identity suffers with all of the TVs tuned to ESPN. The bar is huge, and there's so much potential, so what pisses me the f*ck off about this place is that they aren't making the best of their prime real estate. The bars in downtown Naperville just aren't that impressive once you're out of college. Celebrating your 21st birthday? Bachelorette party? Sure, go for it. But Features, and downtown Naperville bars in general, aren't for grown ups. Go over to Jackson Avenue pub and have some real food and real beer. read more
