I purchased a vehicle from FDM Motors and experienced serious problems immediately. The check engine light came on the very next morning after purchase. When scanned, the car showed three full pages of error codes, including codes related to the transmission, battery, mass air flow sensor, and tires.
Before buying, I specifically asked about the transmission three separate times, and the owner told me directly each time that the transmission was "great." He also stated that he had just changed the oil and transmission fluid prior to the sale.
After the warning light came on, I contacted the owner. He told me to bring the car in and then blamed all of the issues on the snow tires, which does not explain transmission or engine-related fault codes.
I then had the vehicle inspected by my own mechanic. The transmission fluid was dark black, thick, and smelled burnt--I was even given a sample. This is clear evidence of serious transmission problems and contradicts the claim that the fluid had recently been changed.
When I informed the owner of these findings, he refused to refund my money or take responsibility.
This has been an extremely costly and stressful experience. I strongly advise anyone considering buying from FDM Motors to get an independent inspection before purchasing, or consider another dealership. read more
