The instructions were clear and parking is convenient, however the management left a lot to be desired. Despite being told the rooms are not actively monitored, it appears we were actively monitored. When questioned, they claim it was a coincidence that they just happened to be checking at the exact time. What was the issue, you ask? We used a stool (which was in the room) in the pool area - which we had seen done in multiple photos on FD's own page. But apparently that's not allowed. We did not want to nor intend to break any rules - if this had been stated ANYWHERE we wouldn't have done it. Also, they probably shouldn't use those particular pictures as examples of photos you can take if it's not allowed. No apologies given. No real explanations, just "the person happen to check on you at that time". When asked why they were even checking, we were told usually footage is only reviewed if damage is done. Again, so why was someone checking on us during our allotted time? If you need privacy or have some sort of NDA, just something to be aware of. We ended up leaving a little over an hour before our slot was over just because I no longer felt comfortable or could trust the company. read more

I was very excited to do a Valentine's photo shoot for my boyfriend who is in the service and his tour was unfortunately extended as he was suppose to be home last week. The photographer had us scheduled at FD studious. It's located literally in the middle of downtown Los Angeles in the fashion district. Note!! It's a little hard to find. The building we were shooting at has a non descriptive entry. Also you need to park at a paid parking lot a half a block away. Carrying all your clothes and makeup needs to be considered! The studio is on the 5th floor. I arrived before the photographer and peered into the studios. Pretty neat as each of the 4 are a little different. It was cold rainy day and it was a little cold on the studio especially not wearing much. I was definitely a little nervous around the photographer as she was new to the studio and was asking a lot of questions but we eventually started the shoot. We shot in one studio, Art 4 for an hour then moved to Art 1 for the second hour. It had started to rain pretty hard at this point and water did leak into the studio. Some of the props looked tired but the photographer said you can't tell on the final images. The entire experience was a little overwhelming and I was out my comfort zone for sure. I just hope the pictures came out great as I want this to be a special gift!! I highly recommend if it's your first time to the studio to give yourself plenty of time to find it, park and transport your items! read more

I think my life changed after I found FD Photo Studios. Im a fashion photographer and I've used it a few times, been to several of their different locations and studios. Its hard to find places to shoot but they make it so easy with their friendly staff and many different options. Its safe to say that they are the go to place for setting up a shoot. They have all the equipment you need (strobes, diffusers, props, backdrops, dressing rooms...etc.) and there is always a staff person on hand to help you out if you need things to shoot. Here are some photos from my recent experience at the 11th street location using the Pro Stage I. I really enjoyed how spacious it was and how they had great accommodations my team members used like the couches, tables, and makeup area. Went here for a shoot w my daughter today and I have been to many studios before ... this one gotta be one of my favorite this far. Super spacious, great back drops, props, ton of natural lighting but of course all equipment and lighting you could ask for. Front desk check In was quick and easy, very friendly and helpful... extremely happy. And the rates are pretty phenomenal!!!! The studio was very clean and great space for make up and hair, changing area and ton of space for wardrobe!!!! Super happy and excited to see how our pictures will come out! I booked studio hill 8, I was expecting more honestly, the studio didn't look clean and very old. I know maybe that's the theme but some of the studio props were broken and on the pictures it didn't look like that, the lighting made everything look better for sure also the location doesn't look very safe, a lot of homeless people around at all times. It was hard to find the building since it looks just really old from outside. I'm going to try other scenes hopefully those are better. read more

I had the best experience renting FD Photo Studio Pro. The crew is always welcoming and very helpful with whatever you need during your session. Brandon was helping me and my crew during our set and he was phenomenal! He made sure our studio was prepped and ready to go, made sure we had the color backdrops we needed and of course helped us set up our music so we can have some tunes while we work. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. THANKS BRANDON! I would recommend purchasing their packages because it's the best bang for you buck, but they also allow you to add on extra hours if you need to and ONLY if the room isn't booked. This place by far is the best studio I've been too! Everything was clean. My transaction and reservation was so easy. The customer service from Alexa was so helpful and polite. I went here before for when I was in the Model Hunt International Competition to do a photoshoot. The place was huge and we had so many props to choose from. So I decided to come back to book an individual photoshoot for my self an my team member I train. I love how the place had so many options of variety to choose from. This was honestly my first time ever renting a studio of my own accord - but have a feeling I couldn't be happier. I was able to reserve the studio online then a few days later scout the studio by emailing for an appointment. I booked Pro Studio II right after. The staff were friendly and gracious. I even took longer than normal to pack everything up at the end and they gave me a 10 minute warning the studio would soon close. It was so nice not to feel rushed or worse pushed out. The space itself had plenty of room. I had 8 dancers and the cyc was just large enough to accomplish what I envisioned. I highly recommend it for film and/photography!! This is my second time at FD Photo Studio and we have been very happy with the facilities with everything included in the price, like strobes, triggers, extensions, paper rolls, etc. The best part was the service provided by Daria, who went out of her way to make us feel at home. She voluntarily offered a discount because there was an issue with the restroom. She also offered us a complimentary session after finding out some of our equipment was stolen while we were shooting in an alley nearby. Daria demonstrated empathy, kindness and understanding, which is really what excellent customer service is about. My models and I enjoyed utilizing FD Photo Studio, Pro Stage 1 this last Saturday. I'm a free lance photographer who is always looking for new locations to shoot and Pro Studios was a perfect fit. The staff was very friendly and professional. My only issues was with having to wait for the studio I booked to be cleared out from another shoot. The other photographer spilled into my time slot but I was reassured by the staff that the time would be extended for my shoot to accommodate. Unfortunately, the associate that had assured me had left for the day and forgot to advise her replacement on our arrangement, so my shoot was cut 15 minutes short. Regardless, the studio worked out and I will differently use them again for my next shoot. read more
