The broth wasn't my favorite, but the rare steak was great!! They did forget to leave out onions as requested, but overall service was good when we ordered at the counter.

We invited some friends and went around 7p. There was one other group ahead of us but I didn't think too much of it impacting our wait time. We ordered a Short rib & chicken combo plate, chicken katsu plate, and 3 for $8.50 spam musubis. We also ordered a melon milk tea (I can never find this flavor!) and a passion fruit tea. Short Rib & Chicken Plate: by far, the best marinade and closest to Hawaiian BBQ that I've had in Columbus. The chicken was really good! Everything was chopped up into small pieces instead of the traditional whole piece of meat (chicken thigh and 3-4 strips of short ribs). The short rib was really good as well. The Mac salad is so good! On the sweeter style like in Hawaii. The melon milk tea was good but overly sweet. I went home and added more milk to it and it was edible. The boba pearls were not cooked enough and tough. My husband really liked the passion fruit tea and my son loved his strawberry tea with strawberry popping bubbles. The chicken katsu plate was not my favorite. The chicken was over cooked and too thin so it was a bit like eating cardboard. The sauce was a more traditional Japanese katsu v. Hawaiian style with ketchup/worcestershire sauce. Overall, it was really good and I'm glad to see more Hawaiian BBQ places around Columbus!

I wanted to give this spot a second visit before submitting a more appropriate and realistic…read morereview... I first tried Sharky's right after eating another meal, but I didn't know they existed. I know I should have waited, being semi-full, by my greed won the day. My first experience was with the Italian Beef special: two sandwiches, fries and a drink (for only $6.99?!?!?). The sandwich was delicious, mind you I asked them to put the dipping sauce on the side for fear of a soggy end-product after too long of a drive. Then again, I parked in the lot next door to enjoy it fresh. Vegetables were fresh and expertly supplemented what was already a hot, juicy, tasty grade of beef. The bread had a good flavor as well. Add the crispy (and not overcooked) fries with lemon pepper seasoning and I became an instant fan. My second visit brought me to my test meal (for pizzerias, I always get sausage and pepperoni for a fair comparison), my staple catfish sandwich/sub. Again, cooked perfectly; not hard at all. The inside was temperature-hot and wonderfully flaky. Trust me, everyone doesn't get it right, but they did. I ordered the fries again with root beer for my drink. In case you didn't know, like the movie City Slickers, you have to get the right flavors for the right situations. This combo was only $7.99, if memory serves, which I'll put against any drive-through, overpriced, fast-food mass-producing spot. If I have my choice, I'll have mine made at a place like this. The wait time for both of my meals was fairly short, which seals the deal, giving Sharky's Five Stars and two thumbs up, which I'm sucking the juice off of... Each time I was served by Ahmed, a very kind and charismatic gentleman who clearly takes pride in his work. I told him I'd be back soon to try that chicken special, among other items. If you're looking for something new and old school in quality, definitely give this place a try. ...and as always, tell 'em Kenny sent ya!
