That is a mark-up of over (10) ten times. Just food for thought when you need AC service. BTW I paid for the 2026 maintenance contract in advance and when I called to schedule this maintenance I was told I needed to pay for the contract that I had already paid for.

My AC went out right before christmas day and I need my AC. Rian made a trip to my house on christmas eve day. I was very impressed and he was very knowledgeable. He even let me watch the work. I probably bothered him but he was very nice. After that I scheduled my maintenance with him. Rian even does dryer vent cleaning. My vent was disgusting. His prices are very reasonable. The dryer vent cleaning was the cheapest I have seen even with intro deals and groupons and that is his regular price! Wanna stay cool call Rian and RDS. I received an email with the date/time/ free estimate written in email. I called to reschedule the date and I was told there was no appt scheduled and they do not give free estimates. I was told its a $200 fee to come out for an estimate and this will not apply to any work done by them. The worst part is I forwarded their e-mail back to them because I felt I needed to prove they scheduled an appt with me and it quoted "free estimate" on their email. The reply I got back, "This email came from our call center and we do not give free estimates." Wow! Not even an apology for their own call center giving incorrect information. I at least expected a manager to call me to discuss this. The cost they charge is actually excessive when I checked comps and most companies at least apply it to the final bill. If thinking of using RDS the customer service is definitely lacking professionalism.

I bought a house with a $20,000 new A/C installed by the previous owner less than 2 years old in Fort Myers, FL. In the paperwork part of the quote and invoice included a " 5 year labor warranty ". No further info was supplied to the original owner in the folder provided. There was a refrigerant leak which was attributed to a hole in the outside unit coil. Without quoting they added refrigerant 410A at $ 155 per pound. Refrigerant 410A costs $299 for 25 pounds !! Look it up. Skid prices $230 for 25 pounds. They charge 1300 % markup on the refrigerant making $142 per pound for 3 pounds. To put things in perspective they get better returns immediately for what Bitcoin did in 7 years !! They failed to provide the labor warranty saying that it was the responsibility of the previous owner or myself to notify somebody that the house was sold. None of this was in the paperwork. The Attorney General's office told me that there are other recent warranty complaints. on file against McCarthy On a Friday their office staff said I had a labor warranty. On Monday there was none. I requested the warranty company 's contact info from McCarthy. Cori told me that the info was private to the previous owner.I contacted the previous owner and asked if he received any of this labor warranty info other than what was in the invoice . I asked him to call for the info. Michelle refused to give any info to him either . She accused him of lying to me. She hung up on me !! There was a law regarding guarantees passed in July 2023, 2 months before my purchase. Another law was passed later regarding manufacturer's warranties. McCarthy gets this confused. I have a property management company there that were floored by their excessive price gouging and dishonesty. They wanted $2500 labor to replace the coil. I should have paid zero dollars. I could have bought a new unit for that. I was referred to another company with much more reasonable rates and dealt with the owner directly. The Attorney General's office referred me to 4 other agencies. I am in contact with professional licensing department for the jurisdiction. I am a senior which opens up many other gouging and questionable business concerns. In my area in Philadelphia we report any legal actions taken against my company when renewing licensing every year. Zero every year. We don't cheat people. Forewarned is forearmed. PS McCarthy had just performed service 2 months before the refrigerant leak problem as pointed out by the property management company. On an initial visit they informed me that the 2 year old surge protector failed and they wanted $300 to replace same. Something stinks in Fort Myers and the harsh reality for McCarthy A/C will be exposed. Don't ! PS the original owner already posted the facts about McCarthy and the warranty fraud. McCarthy said that it was " misleading " thinking they were talking to me. The previous owner stated that it was not misleading but they were misled by McCarthy A/C.The previous owner emailed me about the review. Review is zero not a one.
