annual maintenance. technican called 15 minutes before arriving to perform maintenance. technican was very thorough in servicing the ac unit. cleaned and advised that a contactor was showing signs of failing. gave ok to replace it. technican did everything to insure the unit would continue to last for years. would highly recommend kobie cooling for your ac needs. read more

Spent $9800 to replace my a/c unit in 2023 by Kobie Cooling. Bought into the service agreement which promised quick response and no charge for service throughout the paid year. May 1, 2024 (less than 9 months later) my a/c went out. I called Kobie Cooling at 7pm they said it'd be a $90 charge +any other expenses needed for a service after hours AND they'd get to me around 10p that night. Decided to call 1st thing net morning NOT REALIZING they would be scheduling out between 5:30PM and 7:30PM 24+ hours after originally calling. RUN from this company... They're too big to service their clients PLUS not sure why their new installed equipment or installation is defective less than 9 months later!! read more

Kobie kooling came out and did a great job with the repair of my a/c unit. I paid the technician and thought that was the end of it but then I got an email demanding another $130. The technician took my credit card and payment at the time of the service and told me I was paid in full. I called the office and spoke to the owner. He told me "I owned him the $130 and doesn't know why the technician only took a partial payment. I did not get a receipt at the time, so I needed to pay him". I was told by the technician I would receive an emailed receipt like the last times. So with no receipt, I had to pay the added money. The owner also told me to pay or he ws sending it collections. We have used this company for many years and they have serviced our air-conditioning every six months. Last night we had a problem and I called first thing this morning. I was told in a repair man would be at my house by 1:30 in the afternoon and a very nice gentleman name Rick showed up advise me that both my parts that need to be fixed were under warranty and then I would just be paying for labor which was a good thing! Rick was very thorough and got the job done in just a short time and we were back up and running even better than before! I would highly recommend this company! read more

My two-year old heat pump A/C stopped working the morning that I was leaving on a two-week trip. I quickly looked it over and saw that the blower fan was working, but the contactor wasn't getting the current necessary to energize the compressor - indicating some sort of control issue. I used to do A/C work (years ago) so I ordered a replacement circuit board (which looked like it had a burnt spot on it) and had it shipped to my destination (thanks, Amazon!) so that I could install it as soon as I returned home. Simple enough, and certainly cheaper and faster than a service call, right? Got home, carefully installed the new defrost control board, and....... no change. Okay, I'm in over my head - time to call a pro. I don't have the proper tools for real A/C work anymore, and I've likely forgotten more than I ever knew about refrigeration. I called Kobie mostly because I like their radio commercials, where they say that they can fix your unit instead of hard-selling you a new system. As my unit was only a few years old, it seemed the way to go. They promised that a tech would be out the next day. I received a call in the morning, saying that some previous work was delaying our tech a bit, but that he'd still make it that afternoon. Fred showed up, and after doing a bit of diagnostic work, the young man determined that that same defrost control board was bad. Now, here's my dilemma - do I tell Fred that I've already replaced that board or just keep my mouth shut? No tech wants to work on a unit that some fool has been messing with - there might be wires crossed, other things broken, etc. Well, I tell him, because I don't want to see him waste his time, and I didn't get the attitude that one might expect. He was pretty respectful and just asked some questions about the old board, which I brought out to show to him. Fred then got on the phone with the manufacturer of my A/C and spent a lot of time on diagnostic work. The problem wasn't resolved, though, and he arranged to have that same manufacturer's rep meet him at our house first thing in the morning. They were here before nine, as promised, and they both went to work going over my A/C unit's controls. The problem turned out to be a weak (not totally failed) wire in my home's thermostat wiring - likely in the attic somewhere. The intermittent nature of the failure made it particularly difficult to diagnose, but they confirmed that was the problem. Fred made arrangements to have a crew come out to replace the wire, but as my low-clearance attic is a particularly inhospitable place if you're not familiar with it, and pulling a new control wire bundle is still within my diminishing skillset - I told him that I'd rather do that myself. Also, I figured I could do it in an hour or so, thus saving my wilting wife from another day without A/C. Fred gave me some helpful suggestions on how he would do it, and even gave me the wire from his service truck. I had the wire replaced and the A/C working in about 90 minutes. Everything's good. I'd like to say a few words about Fred. He spent a lot of time diagnosing our A/C unit and didn't cop an attitude when he found out that some ham-handed homeowner had been in there swapping out parts. He was friendly and respectful and was working hard the entire time he was here. I would call Kobie again in a heartbeat the next time I have a problem. read more

We've been through a few AC companies and had almost given up all hope in finding a reliable, honest and knowledgeable company until we had Kobie Koolong come and perform a cleaning/maintenance/tune-up on our 2 year old unit. The owner of Kobe Cooling is either ignorant or lying in his radio ads being snooty and criticizing UV Lights in heating/cooling systems. He claims they are fraudulent. He is wrong and his misinformation is BAD FOR THE PUBLIC. Many studies, including one in 2017 by DukeHealth.org show the benefits of such UV systems. Kobe obviously does not SELL THESE SYSTEMS, and that's fine. But don't LIE in your ads knocking others who do! And no...I am not his competitor! I am just an angry FtMyers resident who has had great experience with a UV system and mold in my home here. read more

Scheduled a service call a month and a half ago, as that was the soonest they had available for a service call. The day came and they left a voicemail to switch the time window, so I came rearranged my schedule to be home. Then I got a other voicemail that the technician needed to cancel due to an emergency. I called and spoke to their rep who said she could get me in the following week, I asked to see if someone else could come that day because I have been having humidity issues, she said she would call back. Three days later no call back, so i called and left a message on a Thursday with their answering service, who are quite pleasant, no call back from Kobie. I called again Friday, leaving a detailed message again with the pleasant answering service. They left me a message Friday afternoon that they could get me in, in two weeks (not on a day I could do as my message should have relayed). They have been servicing this house and the unit they installed since early 2000. Sadly going with another company recommended by a friend. They make it very inconvenient and customer service not what we were used to. read more

A technician by the name of Michael, came out to my great grandfathers condo with less than 24 hours of notice, and took very good care of us. He answered all of our questions, no matter how lengthy and repetitive. When speaking to the office on the phone, I was spoken to with manners and understanding. As a hot headed costumer and speaking for my 92 year old great grandfather, I was very particular about doing the job right. Kobie Kooling did that! I referred two of my close friends to Kobie Kooling, and specifically Michael, and they have said nothing but outstanding things. After buying my condo in Naples a couple of years back, I called the number left on my A/C unit by the pervious owner. That number lead me to Kobie Kooling. In 2016, I had them service my unit at which time they pointed out the unit was 16 years old and had some issues but was not at the point of requiring a replacement. They provided the service and all was good. In 2017, it was a repeat of the preceding year. At no point did their service people put pressure on me to replace my aging unit. In 2018, during the service call, I asked to inspect the unit with them to see the wear and tear. The service tech was very accommodating but again there was no pressure. As I evaluated the situation, I concluded at my age and the age of my unit if I wanted to enjoy the benefit of a new updated unit I needed to do it NOW! Kobie's staff was very professional. The bid was prompted, offered options and the cost was competitive. They schedule the installation around my travels and needs and the crew that completed the work did so in less than a day. The removal of the old unit was uneventful and once the new unit was in they cleaned the area very well. They took care of the required permits, provided a quality control follow up to inspect their work and assisted in connecting the thermostat to my wifi. They come when they say, do what they promise and charge a competitive price. Everyone from the office staff, installers to the service techs make doing business with Kobie Kooling a real pleasure. They will be my A/C service people forever!!!! read more

I moved into my new house 3 months ago. My Ac was acting up. I called to see if someone could come out and tell me what I needed to do. Jason McArthur came to let me know that I needed a new compresser. He also let me know that since my unit was 10 yrs old that this was temp fix. I was doing a free second diagnostics for my elderly neighbor in a wheelchair as I am a 30 yr incensed HVAC Tech working for another local Co. Kobie was trying to sell an evap coil that was not needed, so the neighbor called and cancelled the repair as I had him running free of charge. The Kobie owner or manager? got so angry at the customer he pressured him for my name, then the owner/manager called me and threatened me. He was going to call State officials to report me, I did not care because I was legit and he was scamming helpless folks that don't know anything about A/C.
