We came here to celebrate my son's birthday and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. We ordered the bruschetta, seafood sauté, and fettuccini Alfredo, and the whole family loved every dish. Everything was comforting, flavorful, and generous, the kind of food that reminds you of a home-cooked Italian meal. For dessert, my son got a cheesecake for his birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch and really made the night special. Our waiter was warm, attentive, and very accommodating throughout the meal. This isn't fine dining, and that's exactly the point. It feels like sitting down for dinner at grandma's house. For the hospitality, the memories, and the comforting food, Bella Pasta earns a full five stars.

She talked eyelashes with our 15 year old granddaughter which was a huge hit. The food was plentiful and good but nothing really to write home about. Two of our salads had large chunks of core and the bread was cold with hard butter packets. The dinners were solid but nothing special. It was a little annoying that the only way they could honor our reservation was to stick us at a small booth in the loud bar area. The music blaring from the speaker over our table was fine but not really conducive to pleasant dining and certainly not what we would expect at an Italian restaurant. We had to raise our voices to be heard over the bar chatter. I think that we hit this place under some bad circumstances so I wouldn't write them off. Give them a try and you might have better luck than we did.

Of course, Monday nights are always difficult with so many restaurants closed but my wife used Yelp to see what was open nearby. Cristo's popped up. We weren't familiar with the restaurant (my sister in law indicated that a pizza restaurant had been in this location several years prior with good pizza but a bad attitude) but what the heck, we thought we would give it a try. Well, I can't say enough nice things about Cristo's. We thought we were going for pizza, what we ended up with was some of the best homemade pasta (almost all is homemade), gnocchi, and a wonderful chicken parm that was to die for. Loved the marinara sauce - clearly everything was homemade (including the bread). Pleasant environment. Not loud, well laid out. Good selection of wines (too bad that we learned afterwards that there was no corkage fee on Mondays). Just a wonderful little restaurant with great service, superior food, and well-priced. Can't emphasize the latter enough with today's inflation. And the choices on the menu if you don't like pasta are also intriguing. Nightly steak choices (the filet mignon on a Monday night sounded wonderful but I just had to try the pasta). Wish we had something on the east side like this!

For my main course I ordered the rigatoni bolognese which was fantastic. The sauce was a lighter version of a traditional bolognese, but still packed with flavor. The only thing that kept me from giving this establishment 5 stars was the martini I ordered. It was served in a cosmo glass but was filled about 1/3. Because the glass is cone shaped, the volume was certainly less than 1/4. The bar tender needs to up their game and learn how to serve a martini. Charging $16.50,for what amounted to a short shot, is almost criminal. I would definitely go back. But next time, I'm ordering a bottle of wine in lieu of a cocktail.

Medium Red Pizza with Cup n Char pepperoni - red sauce was flavorful, there was a good amount of pepperoni - see pic! Kids loved this one. We also got an order of garlic bread, not pictured - the bread here is amazing! Last, dessert! Cannoli cake was two layers of angel food cake with cannoli filling between the layers and on top - it was light, fluffy, and not too sugary at all! Cannoli was great, as was the eclair!
