They take walk-ins and I've done that when I had a screw loose (no jokes) or something for a tech to handle but otherwise I always make an appointment. BTW our glasses always get readjusted with no problem, no hassle. The exception is when we've gone to pick up glasses. Yes, #1 daughter, #1 son and my sweetheart have all been examined here. The girls have pretty funky vision but Matt & I are readers only. We have made many trips here and there's always been a satisfactory outcome, so this is good! Their services range from comprehensive eye care to fitting you with prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses with personalized and attentive service. They've got a huge selection of styles and a lot of top brands, and they've always done a great job with #1 daughters contacts. PEC has charged me $313.99 last week, after insurance benefit it was $193.99 almost double . They added $9.99 shipping charge , completely disregarding my request to pick up contacts in their office . They didn't want me to come back and question contacts price I guess . Now I am going out of town to see my MIL for the Mother's Day and my very pricey contacts will be out in hot weather entire weekend . Terrible experience with overpriced contacts , poor customer service and now worrying about receiving possible defective contacts because I am not sure can my neighbor pick them up from the hot mailbox.

The second I walked into Memphis Optical, I knew I had an eye doctor for the rest of my college life. The staff were all really friendly, and the doctor had a good working knowledge of everything, and even told me some things that other eye doctors had neglected to mention in the past. The only thing I'm a little uncertain about it the price. The service was great, but after I got my new glasses and some contacts, it did seem a little over what I was used to paying. No biggy, though. I'd rather pay a little more and have my eyes looked after, than pay less and risk getting someone who doesn't know as much.

The majority of my experience has been disappointing. The office seems to be disorganized and unprofessional. I was fit for multifocal contact lenses. The first optometrist that examined me was very nice but did not educate me about multifocal lens and their challenges. After struggling with a trial pair of contacts, a second optometrist examined me in a follow-up appointment. The second Optometrist did a great job. He took his time to understand my issues and after two visits we settled on a pair of distance contacts. When my appointment was over, the office staff took their time checking me out. The employees were having casual, personal conversations openly with several customers in the store waiting to be serviced. I was left feeling as if the available agents were avoiding checking me out because they did not want to take a break from their conversation. Now I am trying to order my contacts and I am very disappointed in the process. When I called to order yesterday, the employee told me the system wouldn't allow her order my contacts. She then told me to call back. She was also trying to order the incorrect contact and not the set we agreed upon at my last visit. This was quite an inconvenience to me and I was irritated because why not ask a manager to assist with processing the order? It is also a hassle getting a live person on the phone when calling in. By the time I make it through to a live person, I am already frustrated and irritated from going back and forth with an automated system. I also cannot believe that there is no automated system alerting you that the office is closed if you call when they are not open. I did not realize the store was closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. When I called, I was placed on hold where I remained until I decided to hang up and search Google for another number. All in all, I will not support this business again. I am unsure if the issue is with this location or the chain as a whole, but I feel the company has a lot to learn about customer service and professionalism.
