There's a fireman's pole to slide down in both sections. It's dog friendly too but please keep them leashed and clean up after them. There are a few engraved rocks too that have some history and some just facts about nature.

The MC Councilman Richard Ash announced the entertainment such as the Drag Queens from Provincetown, the 3 were extremely talented by Lip synching popular songs then BOOTY VORTEX the DISCO GROUP WOWED THE AUDIENCE from 70's and 80's! Then presented Scholarships to one Senior of Quincy High School and one from North Quincy High school! Plus and award to the Pastors from The Church of Presidents across from City Hall! The hit entertainment was Quincy's own son.....TORRENCE who performed several songs along with his band and dancers! So much activity and food such as Black Creek BBQ, Aahhh ROMA LLC and Ice Cream Truck SMILES by the MILES and a popular Beverage BREAK ROCK BREWING COMPANY Tent. So, last year, when I saw an event was scheduled to take place there, I figured it would be a safer time to visit. Well, yes and no. I wasn't the only person going, but because I wasn't the only person going, their parking lot was full, so parking was a bit of an issue. I checked out the grafitti, making my way around the folks standing or sitting around, to get a closer look at the rocks. I stayed on the grassy ground while I noticed some folks climbing up the rocky cliffs, both with and without rock climbing gear.

Visiting the Adamses birthplaces, their home at Peace Field and their final resting places has been on my "bucket list" for YEARS! In fact, I hope to visit every president's birthplace and final resting place. My wife and I spent the last week in Boston from San Antonio (planned the trip months in advance). Honestly, no - I didn't think to check when the homes would be open for tours; I just assumed a National Historic Park would be accessible more than just a handful of months per year (silly me!). When I found out we'd be there after the season ended - I called the park - and finally got someone on the phone. They were friendly, but dismissive. Bottom line: I traveled 2,000 miles to see some of the most historic places on earth and fulfill part of my "bucket list", only to find out the homes were closed and the park refused to entertain someone willing to pay for a private tour. The main office/visitor center/gift shop was disappointing. They did not have the T-shirt I wanted in my size, and I just felt the selection of keepsakes/mementos, in general, was lacking.

Be careful when putting the address into your navigation, especially Waze users, as it took us to the totally wrong location at first. Once you arrive, however, parking is pretty straightforward. It costs $10/car. The staff at the hut where you pay for parking was super helpful in letting us know what route would best suit our time constraints. We were even given a map! The trails were pretty clear, some maybe weren't as clearly defined as they could've been. Note for hikers: this does feel like more a stroll in the park as opposed to a true hike. Some hidden paths did feel like one, however, so don't be afraid to venture off what seems to be the most defined routes. We loved the views of the Boston skyline, harbour, and Hull, MA. This place is definitely worth a visit. I'm looking forward to coming back in autumn to see some good foliage!

I…read moreguess it's not really a park but the coastal area behind the American Legion building where the road to Moon Island becomes restricted for anyone who's not with the police academy or fire academy. Secret Squantum Park has a GREAT view of the Boston skyline - especially at sunset. You can work your way along the small rocky beaches covered in zillions of periwinkles and find yourself looking over calm waters back to the shiny Kubrickesque monolith that is the John Hancock building. There's also good views of UMass, the JFK library and the mysterious Thompson Island. Oh, and if you like skipping stones - THIS IS THE PLACE. I managed 12 skips with one stone. New PB!

2022 season review…read more 7am - 5pm, May - October. With bloom potential 3 seasons of the year, we spied only a handful or so mid May, and more on subsequent visits. Arches blossomed in turn, as the entire garden was never in full regalia all at once. We weren't the most observant and it wasn't till late June that we realized the lady statue was missing her hands. This isn't a large garden by any means. But it is a nice oasis in the city.
