I've had nothing but problems with this company, and after this last experience, I'll never use them again. Their "quick fixes" were so poorly done that a solder joint failed, nearly flooding my basement. I had to pay $2,500 out of pocket for another company to clean up their mess and repair the damage / restore my system. The real issue I was having was a visibly corroded valve preventing the boiler from functioning properly. Somehow this was completely ignored by their technicians, who on each service visit have been unprofessional , rude, and clearly unqualified. They have even told me what tools and parts to buy and advised us to fix things ourself (which we have never done but seems odd) anyways, I'm now left without water while repairs continue. This company's negligence caused serious damage and unnecessary expense. I strongly suggest anyone considering them look elsewhere for competent, honest service. read more

This Company is NOT ANY GOOD they delivered oil to me in Marshfield an I'm (was) a customer until today February 27, 2026 the price they charge me is $4.90 a gallon I looked online average price approximately $3.50 to $3.70 per gallon. This company recently began harassing my mother over a bill - despite the fact that, A: she's never been their customer, B: she never ordered oil from them, C: she had her oil filled last by the company she always does business with, D: the spelling of her name, as well as phone number, were incorrect (but do match up with random mailings she gets from marketers, which implies they bought the info from a marketing list), E: they now want to "come take the oil [which they never delivered anyways, and even if they had it amounts to a gift] back" Not to mention, the company she actually _did_ get oil from charges a dollar less per gallon. They're not only seeming crooks, but a rip-off. TLDR: it looks like Fawcett Oil is scamming seniors... Just adding on: Fawcett's response claiming they ever even delivered oil in the first place is what's hilarious: they didn't. Fawcett energy delivered oil to my house a week after they filled my tank, when I looked at the bill the driver left at my house the bill was for a different address, so I called them to let them know. they said they would take care of it. That day I went to pay some bills on line and found out they put a $850.00 hold on my account for 20 gallons of oil. This was 3 days ago and the money has not been released yet. they put a $850.00 hold on my account for their mistake. I had my furnace tuned up this morning 11/29/23 Brian was the technician. He was excellent ,he called to say he was en-route and showed up on time. Brian was very knowledgeable and professional and had the job completed in the allotted time he estimated. He also warned me that I had a leak in my oil tank, and needed re-placement and took measurements for a quick and speedy re-installation Brian saved me from a near catastrophe---fantastic work Brain !!!! Started a contract with Fawcett energy. April came around and I still had 3/4of a tank left so I delayed delivery until October. Went to the mail box 11 days after and received a bill even though I delayed their services. They came and filled the tank even though I delayed the service and received email and mail confirmation. I called and with no remorse I was told even though it wasn't my fault the bill was mine to pay not even a discount was offered or a genuine apology.I live on a budget so I had delayed the delivery to save money. I find it funny that their prices don't go down when you are on a cap plan. All the other companies right now are 50cents to a dollar less per gallon. According to their plan if the price they pay goes down so should the cap plan price. It never went down leaving me to think they are cheating their customers. Buyer beware. read more

One of the most expensive heating oil suppliers in the Boston area and, lately, providing very poor customer service. I started with them in 1998, when one of their salespeople convinced me to switch. Over the years their services were OK, though we also did not need a lot of work. I subscribed to their various service plans, only to find out today that they won't supply oil anymore since my tank is only partially visible. The oil tank is in the same position for the last 13 years and no Fawcett Oil technician ever mentioned the issue till yesterday. The oil delivery manager made the decision to stop delivery in the middle of the winter to a customer that was with them for 26 years and never missed a payment. Great service indeed! read more

Their customer service is second to none. If you are looking for a full a service home heating oil provider, they are who you want, with plans for everything regarding your homes heating needs. If you are looking for price I would stay far away, especially from their fixed oil price plans with insurance (you will never pay higher than X and if the prices drop you will pay even lower pricing than your fixed cost). Their plan is not administered like plans I have had in the past. They say you will pay the lower price if oil falls below a certain price however that "certain price" is unknown and there is no way to validate what you should be paying. I had the same type of plan from a different provider last year and it worked out very well paying much less than even local providers plus I still had price protection and I could validate what I should be paying using an index that I could look up on my own. When I realized I was dupped, I called and complained and after about a week they refunded my $250.00 (they say they never do this) which was the cost of the insurance. I only paid one ridiculous price for 118 gallons and now I am done with them. read more

They double charged us in a month and said we used double the oil tank capacity. We did not use that much oil and never have used double the capacity of our tank oil. So the robbed us of almost 500 dollars. Knowing this how accurate is their meter when they fuel up our tank? Are they scamming us then too? We also canceled the account almost 4 months ago and they still made a delivery to our house and said we never canceled the account. Scam artist stay away. I switched to Fawcett Energy due to the owner (Ben Fawcett), sending a flyer offering a much lower price than my prior oil company. After accepting his offer, at that point the "bait and switch" began. During an oil tank inspection (that they stated was required), I was advised by the technician that I needed to replace my oil tank and that they could not fill my tank until I did so. I was also told I had to do this asap as I only had 1/4 tank of oil left and would run out soon and be without heat (far from ideal during winter in Massachusetts). The technician (Rich) advised that they could put in about 20 gallons to keep me going until I replaced the tank (through Fawcett Energy) yet this never happened. Next, over the following 3 week period of time I continued to have to chase every representative of the organization to complete the estimate and what I hoped would be the installation process. After repeated delays, not only was I provided with a quote that was almost twice as much as the range I had received verbally, but also I ran out of oil on January 19th. Imagine waking up to a home that is 57 degrees with two young children that need to complete remote schooling and having no other options. I called and another representative (Martha) from Fawcett Energy advised that they could put in ~ 20 gallons to get me through until the new tank was installed and that she would send me a revised contract. However, within 45 minutes of my discussion with Martha, and as soon as I complained about what seemed to be intentional delays to force my hand to purchase an almost $4,000 oil tank, the owner (Ben Fawcett) had two different people (Mark and Tracy) call me and tell me "there is nothing we can do for you... call your old oil company". In fact, Tracy suggested that I call my old oil company and NOT tell them about the fact that the tank needed to be replaced so that they would deliver oil. I requested to speak to the owner during three (3) different phone calls on January 19th yet Ben Fawcett refused to contact me directly. Fawcett Energy's actions are clearly unethical and border on illegal by trying to coerce a new client into purchasing a new oil tank under false pretenses (it turns out that the tank does NOT need to be immediately replaced after I had a 2nd opinion / inspection by a reputable company). Needless to say, I will never do business with Fawcett Energy again and would caution anyone who thinks an offer of an exceptionally low price is worth going through the above. read more

We have been using this company for 2 years but have had several issues. We have lost hot water several times and was told this was due to them using bio-oil that clogs the system. We had to pay a couple of hundred dollars for maintenance to get the system running again. They have since stopped using bio-oil but we again lost hot water due to the clogging issue and once again had to pay hundreds of dollars for service and was told once bio-oil was used the bacteria would remain in the tank and we needed to purchase and treat the oil tank with every fill to prevent the clogging issue. In addition to this issue we purchased a service agreement to an annual servicing of the system but was charged for this anyway. We only got refunded (they charged the credit card they had on file) when I noticed the charge and called to complain. We also ran out of oil when the service delivery person could not find the filler part to fill the oil so he left without letting us know his problem. I called and was told they probably ran out of oil on the truck and would come out again but did not so I had to call again to get them out. Not only is the price of the oil high, $4.5990 per gallon they charged a delivery fee of $38.60. We wished we never did business with them and are looking for another oil company to switch our business. read more

These people have no clue what is happening with estimates, customer service or in general just being good humans, I took time off work for an estimate for a new oil furnace, estimator was early and did not call as requested prior to arrival, then got in his van to leave, still 15 minutes prior to appointment time. I was very clear as to what I wanted and that I wanted it done immediately and took another day off for the install, install day comes no installer, no estimate given, Fawcett got rude and condescending with me blaming me for not responding to the estimate, the estimate was sent to a different customer, not sure how I was supposed to answer to that. I called and spoke with someone with the last name Fawcett and he made a ton of excuses and tried to get me to reschedule and resent the estimate, the estimate didn't include things I specifically asked for and added stuff I specifically didn't ask for, I was told the earliest date to reschedule was after I would be gone for work, I explained yet again that this was why I asked for the expedited schedule to begin with and that timeline was unacceptable, I was told that they were "only trying to help me" I replied that no they weren't trying to help me they were trying to secure my revenue, at this point I fired Fawcett Energy, today 6 months later I receive an estimate for another customer in my email. This shows me that I made the right choice and that Fawcett blaming me for an estimate that was sent "to you" was absolutely false. These people care about your revenue not at all about you or your time, it takes a lot to make cable companies look good but Fawcett nailed it. I didn't lose it and as you can see Fawcett is still blaming me for their mistakes, right choice was made Btw, estimate was supposed to be in by 7/27, it was not, I called to confirm appointment for install on the 30th at which point an estimate was finally emailed to me and I was told that no installation would happen that week period, no one ever volunteered to do anything special for me especially not the very next day and it was not an option anyway, I still have the original email chain too. Run don't walk away from these people. Extremely belligerent on the telephone. Was happy with their service and paid $250/yr for cleaning for more than 3 years. Called for a cleaning this year and salesman yelled and screamed at me non-stop and then hung up on me even after I had agreed to buy oil from them again. Called back and complained to manager. VERY poor experience. Guy said I had to buy their oil at $1 more a gallon than anyone else. $400 more per tank fill than any other cash price company. These guys have ZERO customer service. Attitudes to match. Good luck to them. For the record in case they want to follow up on this. No-one ever told me in the preceding 3 years I had to buy oil from them to have service done. I had an open account with them also. Also found VERY interesting how they had a ONE star rating until just after I put my review in and all of a sudden check back and find they have two stars because someone says "they are willing to pay a few extra cents" Laughable. Their "automatic" oil delivery is a scam. They wait until the price of oil is at its highest then come and deliver oil and WILL charge you at least $1 more than anyone elses cash price. For a standard tank that is minimum $275 more per delivery if your tank is empty. I will stand by what I said about their customer service and their attitude to me today. To be yelled at like I was and comments made to take my business elsewhere then to slam the phone down is nothing short of DISMAL customer service. I was told they LOST money doing tuneups. RIGHT. Go price electrodes, tank filters etc online. Readily available pricing at retail. At most $20 worth of parts for something they charged me $250 for. Used to get a notification that maintenance was due,that stopped when they took over but the charges didn't. We recently had an emergency at our home due to a leaking 66 year old oil storage tank in your basement. We called Fawcett Energy and they responded immediately. Martha was super courteous and massively helpful. They made a date to replace the tank and on that day they showed up on time and got to work draining the old tank, then cutting it in half to get it out of the basement. They installed the new tank and the entire job was done in a matter of hours without a drop of oil anywhere to be found.
