If you like your contractor to start a project on time, provide communication or do what they were…read moresupposed to do as per the project, DO NOT hire them. Was told on the start day of the project that they will start the next day. They left all the trash from our project in our backyard (what kind of contractor doesn't even have use of a dumpster to take the trash out???) Constant issues with communication, multiple times I reach out but no communication until over a day later. Didn't even initially quote us for what I asked for (what does a complete gut job mean to you? Because to them, it doesn't mean complete demo). The additional costs for this "addition" was paid, but the work on that proposal wasn't complete. Stating and demanding payment was due before the due date, when we are asking you to complete the job that was completely paid for. We don't even want them to complete the job because the experience has been so bad. While the bathroom looks good on sight, further inspection will show details that have been messed up. Stripped paint, placement of accessories being wrong, stains and spots on the tile that won't come off. Hopefully everything else stays in tact. Not to mention the complete disregard for other parts of the house when demolishing the walls. I've never worked with a contractor that didn't cover up doorways so the dust stays contained. Not to mention the team busted holes in the wall of the 2 bedrooms that share a wall with the bathroom.

We called a number of roofers who immediately said- yes, you need a new roof. Thank God we had Cook come to check. Yes - Cook told that he would need to do a new roof NOT because the roof was bad, but because we had a problem with not enough venting and soffit vents, etc. That is why we had moisture trapped in the attic. Cook explained that if the roof was less than 5 years old, then he could just do all the venting, but the only way he could guarantee all of his work ( on a 20 year old existing roof ) was to replace the roof AND do proper venting. We are so glad we did, as none of the other roofers mentioned anything about venting being the real problem. We would recommend Cook the next time we build a new home, or do a new roof on an old house. 5 STARS

Not once did I speak to their team in a disrespectful manner. Was I firm and direct? Absolutely. Not once was I inappropriate, unlike their owner. If any prospective clients see this and would like to ask me about my experience directly, I'm happy to have a conversation. I have no further interest in communicating with a company that continues to not truthfully own up to their faults in this. I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by my experience with Driveways by HEAP and their owner, Robert. From the start, communication with this company was extremely poor. It took months for them to respond to our request for a quote for options for our driveway and a small asphalt patch in our backyard. When they recommended sealcoating and they finally scheduled the work, they only completed part of the job -- forgetting the backyard patch we had clearly discussed and agreed upon. When we reached out to address the incomplete work, we were initially told they'd return within days. Weeks passed with vague updates, broken promises of return dates, and no follow-through. We asked them not to cash our check until the job was done -- but they did anyway, before completing the work. As soon as we realized the check had been cashed, and after my husband had multiple failed attempts to get ahold of Jamie, I stepped in to follow up - which was apparently unacceptable to do on a Sunday morning. She blocked my number and bizarrely informed my husband via email that she would only be communicating with him going forward -- an unprofessional and move that made me question if we were still in the 1950s. Things escalated with misogynistic language when I called the company directly and and asked to speak to Robert, the owner. I have never been spoken to by a service provider the way he spoke to me. He was verbally abusive, condescending, and used language that bordered on threatening. He insulted me personally and dismissed my entirely reasonable request to complete a job that had been paid for -- going so far as to accuse me of being part of the "instant gratification generation" and "making a mountain out of a molehill" as if expecting a service to be completed within a month is unreasonable. This business not only failed to complete the work in a timely or professional manner, but their treatment of me as a customer -- especially as a woman -- was hostile and deeply inappropriate. No one should be spoken to or treated this way.
