I pulled the trigger yesterday and finally went here. I didn't actually dine in, so this will be just a review on the food - the Thai fusion food. It took about 30 minutes to make their food from when we ordered it. The restaurant wasn't completely packed which was strange for Valentine's Day. We ordered the cream cheese wontons, which came out delightfully crispy and very tasty. We also ordered the Penang curry which was rather sweet, no spicy kick.It went well smothering white rice. We did order the calamari which was a bittersweet endeavor. The crust on it was really good but the size of the calamari rings are too thick, making it a rubbery chew. The dipping sauce for both the calamari and cream cheese wontons was the sweet chili sauce slightly different variations but very good. I ordered the beef garlic pepper stirfry, which turned out to be pretty good. It wasn't crunchy like I had hoped but the lady said it wouldn't be crunchy. I had fresh vegetables and a little bit of extra sauce to put over your rice. Overall a pretty good Thai restaurant that I'll be back for. read more

First of all I like the size of the food I got, it's bit pricier than other neighbor Thai restaurant after all. Food all look representable, however their pad Thai probably the worst I have had in salt lake, we ordered both beef and pork pad Thai all very sour not sure why. I wouldn't recommend to go there. read more

OMG this place is sooo tasty! My friend recommended me and said thai fusion brunch spot, sounded so crazy to me, but I love thai and I love brunch so I said yes. Took my mom with me there and it was an EXPERIENCE! We went all out, ordered garlic green bean appetizer(great!), and the caulifower chimchurri appetizer(drool....absolutely amazing). I wanted thai and breakfast so we got pineapple curry with tofu and thai coconut pancakes. Pineapple curry was full of wonderful spices and tofu was fried perfectly, lots of veggies! The pancakes were heavenly! Not overpoweringly sweet like most pancakes, the butter was chai spiced (What! So different and wonderful!) and the pancake had shredded coconut and it came with a coconut milk syrup, soooo fresh and tasty! The price is worth the flavor experience. Lots of leftovers too. Fav has some really unique dishes, and by unique I mean amazing. Massaman Poutine? Yes please! The menu is upscale and quirky, and we have loved everything we've tried so far. I'm excited to see how the menu progresses over time. Service was great, and the food was very high quality. read more

This is probably my favorite Thai restaurant. The food is amazing, the staff are very kind, need I say more? Their pumpkin curry puff is sooooo good omg. The pad Thai and drunken noodle is amazing. The Thai coffee is really good too. They're super accommodating towards people's certain dietary restrictions which I really appreciate. Their menu has a lot of items as well. 100/10 this is one of my fav restaurants in slc. I'd gladly wake up early just to make to their brunch. read more

This is a neighborhood GEM for flavor you can't beat the Tom Yum Soup! Impossible to to beat! I have previously left a review at five stars but I have to report my latest experience. I order the larb salad all the time and I just placed an order to go. The salad is completely bland there is zero spice in it at all super disappointing this is not why I go to a Thai restaurant. The presentation was beautiful but the food was absolutely disappointing. I called up there to see about getting a proper replacement and was told that ALL of their food comes with ZERO spice unless specifically requested. That just pisses me off. - What a complete waste of food I don't even want to eat this. :( read more

We came here for brunch and it was pretty good! Between the 7 of us we got a variety of plates and everyone was happy with their food. This is the place to go if you want real, authentic Thai food, loaded with actual flavor rather than sugar, like so many other Thai restaurants. Just had dinner there with my wife and brother, who has been in Thailand several times, and thinks it is the best Thai food he has ever had. This place was already excellent, but it has gotten better than ever with their new cook, who I was told, is freshly arrived from Thailand. We got takeout, but the restaurant itself was adorable and very cozy. The food was good, but not amazing. We ordered the drunken noodles (not very "saucy"), pad Thai (also slightly on the drier side), yellow curry (very good!), garlic green beans (also very good), fresh rolls and fried rolls. I'll order from there again and likely try more of the curries. Also, friends highly recommend the salmon.We preferred the fried rolls over the fresh as far as preparation. Heads up - the heat ratings are authentic - my daughter was not happy I ordered medium, but I thought it was perfect! An absolute rip off. I love all the restaurants associated with fav, and the location is amazing for me so I was really excited to try. I am happy to spend extra $ on premium food, but this was an outrage. I got the chicken wings, masaman fries, and coconut soup. When I went to pick up I was astonished to get a bill over $50. The food was pretty good, but in no way justified that price. The wings were ok. Kinda a mix between wingers and pei wei. Nothing special, but not bad. The masaman fries were good although the fries were cold. In no way does this dish justify the price they are charging. The soup was good, but again way over priced for quantity and quantity. I would go back if they lowered the prices. It is convenient, but again the food does not justify the prices. read more

I really like this place, but it is rarely crowded enough to sustain a business. The food is very well done, I've never had a disappointing meal. I truly hope that it gets noticed soon. A new menus, pared down somewhat from a previously extensive menu that should make lif easier for the staff. However, the print is too small for me to read without reading glasses. There's an inverse relationship between the cost or "ambience" and the size of print in menus. This is ironic considering that older patrons are likely to spend more money, yet these older patrons are also more likely to live with presbyopia (the need for reading glasses). I hope the owners take notice of the barriers to a bustling business, because this place could easily be a local landmark. We've been coming here for a few years for the Thai dishes on the menu--they have an excellent selection of authentic-tasting Thai food. Out of all the Thai restaurants in the SLC area, I have only seen some of the dishes on the menu at this location. They also have a range of American-style breakfast/brunch items, all look very good. We were surprised to find such a good Thai selection at a bistro, but the owner Anny has several Thai restaurants in the valley. Service has been up and down, but with the new staff, particularly the waitress Pam, we've been very happy every time we visit. read more

I loved this place. I was actually surprised at how cute the place was and the food. The service was great. They were very attentive and they tried which I liked. I came here to catch up with a friend and we ordered the pineapple fried rice ( comes in a pineapple) the taste is something you have to try once. It's good. The drunken noodles were a little bland for me. I did like how they make their tofu. It's so crispy and the veggies were amazing. Just lacking a little flavor. The pad Thai was the bomb. It was flavored well, and in an egg. Like omg! It was perfect. They also give little house made cookies and mine was amazing. It was a oatmeal cranberry. Fantastic Thai and other creative menu items. Creating any "fusion" recipes can be risky. Over the years, we've experienced a wide variety of some pretty wild and even laughable attempts around town. Most were short-lived fads and failures. Fav Bistro has pulled together a wonderful version of authentic Thai/curry and Fusion dishes that should please the most picky eaters. They offer a variety of curry and pepper "heat" options, just ask your waitperson. read more

We absolutely LOVE Fav Bistro! We couldn't be happier this place opened in our neighborhood and have had nothing but amazing food from here. We typically take out, as we live close, so my review is mainly about the food, but the staff has always been great. As a curry lover, I nearly always go for one of their many curries, as they are amazing. I especially love the pumpkin, green and massaman versions. The short ribs risotto is epic. I can also speak to the Tom Kar soup (served in a full coconut), shrimp and grits, papaya salad, lettuce wraps, garlic beans, chimmi cauli, spring rolls and pad thai. Always fresh and delivious.
