Fauna did an excellent job at evaluating my kitty, Goose, for a dental cleaning, then promptly scheduling the actual service within 1 week! Keith and Dr John were comprehensive in hearing my concerns, explaining their diagnosis, and presenting options for care! Each step was broken down to let me understand what was going to happen and what our choices were. We had pre-op blood work done in the same visit to do the eval of Goose's teeth. All costs were outlined to me and I had several opportunities to ask questions or discuss other options. Because I booked his cleaning within 30 days of his pre-op visit, I received 10% off!!! Awesome perk!! During the day of Goose's cleaning, I was able to opt into text updates which let me know when he went under anesthesia and when he woke up! This was awesome for me and made me feel much more at ease about having my boy gone all day. Dr John called me personally to give an update on the procedure, and answered many questions for me! I felt like all the staff cared for me and my cat just like they would care for their family / own pets. I intend to switch over all of my cats to Fauna as a primary vet. FVC is easy to schedule with, clear with diagnosis and treatment, very reasonably priced, and just truly staffed with awesome humans. You can trust FVC with your fur babies! After relocating to Chicago and promptly getting serious sticker shock & rude treatment at a different vet, we gave Fauna a try. They were so excellent that now they take care of all 5 (well, now 4 unfortunately) of our dogs & cats. Dr. Erin and all her staff are kind and patient. Elizbeth at the front always cuddles whoever we've brought. Brooce was specifically wonderful with our never-left-the-house angry cat. Keith has come out of the office & through a snowbank to lift 40 lbs of injured dog out of my car. They are all just such genuinely kind people. They recently expanded to add a new vet & techs, which I was wary of, but Nicole and Marjorie are just as lovely as the OG crew. They've helped us in urgent scenarios which has been amazing. Our newest sweet simple child ate a poisoned rat & without hesitation they said "bring him in". Plenty of vets would have said "oh sorry you'll have to go to the ER". Dr. Erin has also been helping us navigate our old men reaching their times. She's been happy to help us try to keep them as long as possible and is up on the newest treatments, but is also not afraid to gently suggest it's time to consider palliative care. When our 18 year old cat finally went to Valhalla, we received a very personalized card signed by the entire Fauna staff. The pricing is SUPER reasonable. They have a text system for med refills, which is very convenient, and they also use it to check up after sick visits. The office feels very warm & friendly with cute decor. They even have a little coffee & tea station (though we rarely have to wait long enough to use it). 100/100 stars for Fauna, please don't ever change! read more

Great experience - from scheduling and follow-ups with Joshua (quick responses even when I was running late) and extraordinary care and patience by vet assistant Marjorie and Dr. John. Marjorie is so loving and kind and just loved up my scared dog and cradled my cat during the exam. Dr. John is very patient and extremely knowledgeable about my pets' issues. I want to extend a sincere thanks to Fauna Veterinary! They are exceptional! A breathe of fresh air! I had to put my mom's 20 yo cat down last week after caring for her since my mom's passing. They have a lovely space with a waiting room for cats and a waiting room for dogs with calming pheromones for each. The staff is caring and knowledgeable. And... drum roll... they do not overcharge, their prices are so refreshing. It cost me $70 to put my cat down not $375... it cost $64 to take her in for a check up for her. My first visit was $124. I have been paying $300/$400 every single time I go to my previous neighborhood vet, no matter what it was for. If I was worried my cat wasn't feeling well or my dog is itching his ears. It didn't matter, 3 to $400. The staff and doctors at Fauna were so caring, comforting, and did such a good job, she was comfortable, we had time together and when we were ready it was quick and smooth. She didn't choke like my other cat did, at a vet in the neighborhood, that I will not name. After that unfortunate experience, I have had vets come to the house, for our various cats and dogs, but the prices have become exorbitant and they don't have much availability... literally $375... to $450/475 for a 5.5 pound cat. I luckily found Fauna about six months ago, they have fabulous reviews, and they are in my neighborhood. I frustratingly decided to change (thank goodness) from one of the neighborhood vets we had been going to for over 20 yrs that has been bought out or something and has become literally obsessed/stuck on the "annual visit", taking blood, and doing all these extra things they don't need to do for a 20-year-old dying cat! The receptionist who won't give an inch... "your 20-year-old cat has to have her annual checkup before we can do anything else". Wtf? Ha! Thank you again Fauna! You all are phenom! read more

Before coming here, I was a little skeptical to see that all of the reviews for this place were 5 stars, but after my first visit, I can definitely see why! I had acquired a new cat in my life not too long ago and I couldn't be happier with how smoothly the visit went--including 2 vaccinations! The staff were very kind and helpful at all stations! The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly, Brooce (I hope I'm spelling that correctly), the vet assistant was so helpful and transparent with me when figuring out a plan for my cat! They worked well with my budget and didn't pressure me at all for anything. And finally Dr. Erin was also amazing! Ziggy was so calm with their handling of him and couldn't have been better getting his shots! I can't recommend this place enough! DO NOT GO HERE! You deserve better! I asked for a refill for a medication that my dog has been on for four years. I recently got a new job and explained to the office staff that I would not be getting paid for the first time until the end of April. They wanted to me to make an appointment that would cost over $500 just to refill a medication that my pet needs for her mental health. They're just out to make money. They do not care about you or your pets well being! (Their response which you can review below is a complete misrepresentation of what actually happened). You and your pet deserve better. TL:DR: They are caring, honest, and keep up with the cutting edge of care. We had a cat that unfortunately had a inoperable tumor and went through diagnosis to the end with Fauna. I've never been to a better vet. Most vets I have dealt with feel like they are just going through the motions with minimal investment. That is not the case here, all of them were so kind throughout the process. They sent us resources to help with grieving and a rubric to ensure we could assess her quality of life as well, both of which were extremely helpful. Our first experience with Fauna was when we brought our dog, Roland, in for an acute digestive issue after eating something nasty he found on the street. They were able to fit us in quickly and provided great care. I asked about a teeth cleaning since Roland is at the age when it's necessary. They checked his teeth out and sent an itemized estimate within a few days. Everything went great with Roland's teeth cleaning at Fauna, which we'd scheduled soon after our first visit. The facility is clean and cleverly decorated and the employees are kind and professional. They were awesome with my cat and had actually read the paperwork that I had transferred over ahead of time. They were transparent about pricing, even asking me what my cap was. They gave me advice about which testing route to take and saved me money in the process when they could have recommended I do the more expensive option.
