NB: For the sales person Kevin, 5 stars. More will be said about this to the GM Mr. Price…read more
For the business person, Reuben R, also 5 stars.
For LT (Lancaster Toyota) = 4.5. After all it's every contact and tasks that set the whole picture.
First contact is phone to Jeff, who directs me to Erin when I hope to arrive to measure seat heights for Prius XSE. Thank you Jeff for the help. When I do arrive, no Erin, but there at the desk is Kevin who begins the perfect sales person contact (active listener, empathic, resilient communicator, knowledgeable about product, consultive agent, and disciplined accountability).
Second contact with Taylor to consult with wife Alice seems to have a different tenor of "do I need to be bothered". But Mike at the counter is welcoming and helpful, as well as remembering the first contact.
So, yup, let's get that 2027 Prius XSE!
Kevin continues to be the perfect sales person as conditions ebb and flow through monies timing, availability of this vehicle, 'requests' for "build to suit" our vehicle, timing of arrivals, and personal/professional interactions between us as client and Kevin as sales person. Throughout these weeks Kevin continues to do what is required as well as what we desire/request. At last, quite before 'expected', our vehicle is found and will be arriving early. All is in place for the final part of any sale that has had Kevin providing detailed costs information.
Car has arrived. Kevin shows the car and effectively presents the multi-functions of EV, PHEV, connectivity, locations of critical parts and many computer menus...with his cautions/recommendations that he is available should further concerns/questions happen (his consultative approach understands our memory abilities and the possible vastness of information overload.)
So, let's meet business person, Rueben R. At first introduction he displays the same level of personal/professional awareness as Kevin. Rueben does his presentation with clarity and understanding of our requests. Paperwork is explained, duplicated and presented on a large screen...crisp, well done, that will do!
Although, while we requested Kevin to be present, he has been delayed due to LT's service folks not adequately prepping the car's PHEV and attaching the license plate with two unmatched rustable screws (ouch, this gets the LT score lowered!). Always use stainless steel screws.
All is done...so, on the road again having experienced an effective connections between sales/business persons and us. Quite different than previous car dealership encounters.
We did return to Kevin three days after the sale to receive review of three unresolved operational issues...he was right on it! Well done, that will do.
As with any interaction between those who wish to sell and those who wish to buy, the sooner to each party can achieve shared personal/professional understandings the better the outcome for both. For our encounter with LT this was quickly achieved with sales person Kevin Southwood and business person Rueben R.
