Why in the world was this place so empty??? The food was sooooo good. The Seafood Nachos were delicious and so was the catfish and the shrimp. I met some friends there while passing through and it was a great location. I just can't figure out why it wasn't busier. They have all the makings for a great restaurant. Go give them a try!!! Came to this restaurant because the pictures online looked good and we were passing through and wanted seafood. Ordered the fried crab claws and bit into them and they smelled just like ammonia so I let our server know and she showed her manager. The manager stated they removed them all but the dates were good on them. That has to be a lie because the claws were discolored and when they smell like that they are very old. I then ordered crawfish etouffee and my crawfish was black. I can only eat seafood as I am allergic to pork and beef so I am very upset with this. The fatty thing about Fatty's Seafood Restaurant is the greasy, fatty lunch served to me this afternoon. I ordered the Crab Stuffed Bell Pepper with Pasta. No crab, all bread stuffing. The pasta was bland and very oily. The garlic bread was barely toasted and had soaked up a ton of butter making it a limp buttery sponge. Not appetizing. I also ordered the Oyster and Artichoke Soup which was very tasty, but the oysters were very chewy and tasted off. I won't return. read more

I'm writing this review basely on their food. I ordered a dozen chargrilled oysters, Alfredo pasta with chicken and crab cake sandwich with fries. The chargrilled oysters were okay. The Alfredo pasta was very bland and the crab cake sandwich was also very bland. The fries wasn't hot and looked old and burnt(looked like it have been sitting there). I wished I had read the yelp reviews on this place before coming because most people complained about food being so bland. Chesterfield tasted better than this place. Not impressed at all. The food was nothing more than ok, and the prices were ridiculous.

This was an experience to remember. We killed 2 flys from our first table when initially entering this establishment. We thought to leave but my sister didn't want to, she was driving and wanted to give the place a chance. So we moved to another table and it had fruit flys. Ugh! The waitress, when informed acted as if that was the norm. She did not even clean the previous table and another couple set down. The bland food and the drinks were subpar. The pasta dishes had a bland sauce with some fried seafood thrown on top as a second thought. The fried seafood wasn't even hot. The bow tie fried pasta was decent but the artichoke dip was NOT. Do Not order the sautéed crab claws if you want sautéed or in butter/garlic. They are just drowned in some extra creamy pasta sauce. FYI do not get a frozen drink. A hint of flavored crushed ice but the shot of liquor shined through. Just stick to liquor on the rocks. Thank me later. We are in LA at a place that doesn't even season their food. Went last night for a late dinner. Food was overall pretty good besides having a piece of hair in my shrimp poboy. Would've loved to let my server know but she was too concerned with running other servers food to come and check on us. Only got one refill after my drink within the first five minutes of being there. Dropped our food off, never asked us if it was okay nor if we needed anything. Just when we thought we were going to get our check, she dropped another's tables food on the floor. Took another ten minutes at this point to get the check. Finally got the check and she was certainly in a rush to pick up my money, but not to actually serve us. Wish I could remember her name. Been a while since we have eaten here. Lots of positives, shrimp and grits were scrumptious. Great service. Friendly staff. Appetizer was the fried pickles, which are tasty, but cold when they came to the table. Shrimp poboy could have used more flavor. Rigger burger was ok, tasted like BBQ sauce. Well, went to Fatty's last evening first thing we found strange was the hostess asked us if we mind waiting for her to clean a table by the fromt door. I found this request rather strange as there were 3 or 4 empty booths as well as several tables, nonetheless we obliged. I excused myself to the restroom and my companion unbeknownst to me had went out to the car to get his glasses (menu) lol. As I returned to the dinig room the booth had been set so I assumed I could be seated, the hostess whisked me away to another booth and said she was reseating us, ok? So I sat down and in the meantime I'm thinking my friend is in the restroom, remember I didn't know he went to the car, I'm sitting there looking at the menu, looking around the room, no waitress. This goes on for 3 or 4 minutes and now I know somethings not right. I get up and walk toward the door and lo and behold my friend's sitting at the other booth! Come to find out he had told her he was going to the car when I went to the restroom but she never told him about the table change nor did she notice him sitting by himself bevause she wss too busy talking on her phone. Now you would think we would have left but noooo we sat at our new and improved booth for another 5 minutes, no waitress then left. Went to Nola's great service, great food and better deal!!!!! Ate here today before going to the airport in New Orleans.... We both ordered the creole dish with the fish on the side. She ordered a side of fried shrimp and we had the boudin balls. Our boudin balls came out and they were pretty good. We tour order came out it was luke warm. Hesitant We asked the server to reheat the food. Now normally when I send food back I don't reorder....but I was starving and wanted to eat before my flight. Now since we ordered the fish on the side it was hot and fresh.... however my friend found a hair (which wasn't hers) The buck stops there.... we can't do hair!! Management needs to fix this. I really wanted to love this place. Boudin ball app was the best thing we got and they were just okay. The app came out with our side salads followed by the main dish about 5 minutes later. Felt rushed. Side salads were meh. Blue cheese dressing was bland with a hunk of cheese on the middle and little dressing. Main dish: crawfish Étouffée topped with fried shrimp... do not recommend. No flavor, fried shrimp weren't even good. Husband got the stuffed catfish with étouffée over angel hair, mine was better than his. Ordered food from Fatty's and OMG I was duped. Fries were not cooked all the way , gumbo had to be from the bottom of the pot it taste was spoiled tasting and the bread pudding was on a cup and the scoop of dessert came up as far as the bottom rim of it . Uggh never again read more

I ordered to go. My order was ready. They even had hand sanitizer available at the door for everyone to use upon entering. I had the Cajun Alfredeaux and a cup of gumbo. I went in with my family just before the parade rolled by. They were out of what I originally went in for... crawfish. Which is expected being crawfish season and on the Mardi Gras parade route. The food was very overpriced. Food tasted fresh and came out quickly. Parts of my salad was frozen for some reason. I had no issues with the taste of my food.... but boy, as soon as I got home I could not walk away from the toilet. TMI I know. The food did not sit well in my stomach, lots of stomach pain, gurgling and unsettled! My husband being a chef thought it could've been food cross contamination. This was my girlfriends first trip to New Orleans. I was hoping to actually get to New Orleans for dinner, (I decided we would not eat any fast food this trip, ONLY New Orleans foods) but since we were running late I decided to give Fatty's a try. This being her first taste of ACTUAL New Orleans style food, I was hoping for it to at least be decent.... it was way beyond. She had the etouffe with catfish, absolutely delicious. Just enough spice to give it that kick, but not overpowering. The waitress was perfectly timed on everything with just a few minutes delay on one time refilling my drink... but this was also during a rush that suddenly hit the restaurant. This is definitely a spot I will be hitting on my drives back home from now on. read more

Ordered Crawfish nachos and the signature burger which were delivered via Waitr. Arrived promptly but the food was terrible! Nachos had literally only 20 of the smallest, dry and wilted crawfish tails I have ever seen! The cheese was barely enough to cover an entire chip, and that is being generous at best. Definitely the very worst nachos I have ever eaten and the worst I have ever seen!! Burger on the other hand was cooked medium well and tasted decent. Nothing very notable about it but compared to the nachos it was at least edible. Highly advise to never order the nachos and look elsewhere for this same dish. I am usually one of the most understanding customers because I've been a server the majority of my life, but I've never had an experience like I did today. I sat down and ordered my and my children's drink while waiting on a friend. When she sat down we ordered her drink and appetizers. After 8 minutes I then stopped the waitress to ask for my friends drink that had still not been brought. When she did bring it she still did not take our order and said she'd be back. She brought the appetizers and we then ordered. When our food came out I let her know that my $22 pasta was very bland and tasted like there was not even salt. She informed me that they don't use seasoning when making the pasta. I thought surely there must be a mistake as no where on the menu states lite seasoning or ask for seasoning in the food. I then asked for a manager. The manager was nice and explained that due to catering to an elderly clientele that they have "drastically reduced the seasoning they use". I did ask to return the dish as it was not worth the $22 price tag, and explained what had previously happened with the server. She let me know the server was relatively new so I said I get it and was understanding.....THEN after the manager left the table she talked to the server who decided that the right thing to do was come over and confront me about talking to the manager and that it hadn't been 8 minutes and made me and my friend and kids feel uncomfortable. In all my years as a server I had never nor I would ever confront a table, especially when I was in the wrong. I still tipped 18% because as a server I couldn't do otherwise but due to that interaction and the lacking meal I will never be returning to this establishment and will be warning everyone I know about what happened. It is truly a shame because my last experience at the location in picayune was amazing. read more
