We came here on a Saturday evening for bowling. I like that they charge by hour not by game. If you want to bowl several games this is a more economical way to do it. The alleys were well maintained. The shoes are cleaned and sanitized between bowlers. They have an adequate selection of balls (not sanitized). It's up to you if you want to use a community ball. I have been wanting to have a local spot to take my daughter out bowling, or any kind of entertainment that isn't across the city or in Phoenix. Seeing that they were opening Fat Cats was interesting because I have never heard of this company before. Attractions: Fat Cats has some great attractions available to all ages! They have an arcade right when you walk in, movie theater, mini golf course that is glow in the dark, food and drinks, and of course BOWLING! I have personally done all but the VR station. I love the movie theaters seating that reclines. The popcorn is pretty decent for the price, and the bowling alley seemed a little too greased up. I almost slipped multiple times, but I eventually got my footing. Overall: If you're looking for great fun, and a decent price, make sure to look up Fat Cats. They are always running some kind of special, and make sure to follow them on Facebook. I have learned many things from following them, and have gotten free popcorn out of it! read more

This FatCats just opened (within the last 2 or so months, I think?) and I have been keen to visit since. Finally, a movie came out that I wanted to see (The Gentlemen) and I had the time to go. First thing's first: there is a TON of parking. Like... good on whoever planned this parking lot out because it's spacious and clean and there are so many spaces! There's also really good lighting which helps if you're a weirdo like me who likes to go to movies alone. The actual venue is less traditional theatre and more all in one fun zone. At the risk of sounding like SNL's Stefan, they've got a bar, bowling, an event center, a virtual reality experience, a theatre, a restaurant.... you could totally spend hours here and a whoooole lot of money if you're not careful. Speaking of money... this place is so reasonably priced! I was really surprised. Tickets for an evening show were about $13 and I even got a little dinner (another $12). You can't really beat that price for entertainment and a small meal - I got 3 chicken strips, fries, and a drink. You order your food and the very lovely people who work there will bring it to you in theatre -- pro tip: if you wanna eat, get there a bit early so you can order and they can bring it to you comfortably - the theatre is fully dark and there's not a way to call them back in. Speaking of comfort (wow, I'm on a roll with these!)... the seats are so roomy and comfortable - they even recline! Seating is reserved and you choose where you want to sit when you buy the tickets (which is super nice because it doesn't turn into a bloodbath to sit mid-center). The one issue I had was the closed caption machine didn't work. I tried everything I knew to try, but still I was unsuccessful in getting captions. The seats are also not set up super Deaf-friendly because the cup holders are too high and when you put the CC machine in, it sits impossibly high and awkward. You can adjust the machine - the neck is bendable - but not to the point you'd need it to bend in order to see the screen and the captions simultaneously. HOWEVER, that's something that happens no matter where you go when the seats are set up that way. That isn't specific to FatCats. I will say that when I returned the machine and let the gal behind the concessions stand know it didn't work, she told me she'd look into it. She even knew some sign! It was really cool to have her communicate like that. All in all, the experience was awesome. Great prices, comfy seats, nice staff... I'll definitely be back again soon! read more

They need some help. They have these poor kids running around not trained or aware of what they should be doing. Not their fault. But, leadership this is on you. Ordered a ton of food for the kids at the birthday party. You charge for ketchup? Ketchup! That's just weird y'all. The VR the as harder than it should have been to get going. Only one kid knew how to do it and he needed to go on break. Felt bad for him. He missed his break because no one else knew what to do or was interested in helping. Thanks kid. I hope you find a better job that won't treat you that way. To the ones I think are the "managers" here, try smiling and being friendly. It will help with all the chaos of a poorly ran entertainment facility. I could probably forget about most of it if you were friendly. But not friendly and poor service? I'm giving this a 5 star! It was our anniversary! We tried online to get tickets to see a movie, we're older and it wasn't working. We called and a sweetheart of a woman I believe Kara helped us out and held the tickets. That was beyond her job but she stated she wanted us to have a great anniversary! We had such terrific help from a gentleman with his arm in a sling! A sweetheart named Alyssa B, such fantastic staff! My only true frustration was that the manager Darrell I think was his name. While very kind staff were helping us, he was trying to get them to leave us and go clean up a mess. We asked if he could finish helping us first. I think customer service or his priorities were backwards. The non managerial staff were absolutely the best! Friendly, kind, walked you to whatever we couldn't find or figure out. Goodness I was so happy! To experience this place, the movie the food the virtual the staff! Please mangers, take lessons from your staff and treat them the way you want them to treat us customers. Otherwise it mages you look bad and them not to want to stay. In such a fun atmosphere, be kind to your staff. We will be back but also a Small critique. I live near FatCats Mesa and go frequently to take a break from work. I primarily go to play games and win tickets and sometimes catch a movie. Unfortunately, the options for spending tickets on high-end items is virtually nil. Over the last 6 months their locked glass cabinets behind the ticket counter have remained virtually empty. See attached picture. There are plenty of cheap toys, but I don't spend $50-$100 on games there weekly for cheap toys. It would seem like a place that makes so much money would spend a few bucks on decent prizes. Also, they don't seem to keep attendant in the prize area. I've seen mom's with kids wait for 10-15 minutes without getting help. I tried to leave Feedback using their Web Site Feedback site, but it only allows you enter your personal information and does not provide a field for entering feedback. Note the attached screenshot. The movie seats are comfortable, and food is pretty good, but the choices are slim. The families seem to really enjoy the bowling and the kids party rooms look fun and inviting. The employee's are really nice kids, and the few managers I've met seem kind, professional and helpful. The staff all seem well trained and genuinely happy to be there. When they update their feedback site to actually allow feedback and improve their high-end ticket/game prizes, I'll raise this review to 5 stars. read more

My wife and I visited this alley a few weeks ago. It was our first time there. The bowling alley was completely empty as it was early yet. We were put on a lane and it was good for us. We were about half way through our game when a young man came in to bowl. He was put right next to us even though there were 15+ other lanes open. He proceeded to use 3 bowling balls and the way he was bowling was extremely distracting. He would launch the balls half way down the aisle before they even dropped with a loud thump onto the lane, he was already tossing the next ball down even before the guard had raised. The tree balls he brought were in constant state of movement. I would've been okay with this, but he had no bowling etiquette at all, not caring if we were starting our approach or not. It would have been nice if your staff would have put him a little father away from us, instead of so close. We finished up our game and left even though we wanted to stay longer. We are not sure we want to return. read more

Would give a 0 star if I could. The whole place was closed for a private event during the summer when everyone is free. Would not allow anyone to come in until the private party was done. Terrible business practices to turn away business and close down the entire place. I understand renting out part of the business or renting out a party room. But renting out the entire place so no one is allowed in seems like a great way to lose customers for life. Especially prime time Saturday during the summer. read more

We went for the Princesses and Pirates Event and it was wonderful. The kids working this were all awesome. So friendly and genuinely having fun with the kids. We decided to go see a movie for the first time since the COVID-19 crisis began. It was about time! This Fat Cats just recently opened up and you could tell from the interior. It was immaculate. They have a nice selection of about 60 video game and ticket earning games to the right as you walk in. A bowling alley with about 25 lanes, a grill and a movie theatre. The seats in the theater look like leather (probably "pleather") and recline. They were very comfortable. We were helped by the General Manager at the concession stand when we arrived. He was a very nice gentleman and even asked us how we liked the movie when we were leaving (we saw Tenet and recommend it even though it was hard to follow). There is ample parking and if you don't want to eat their food, there is an In 'N Out burger and a Hawaiian type grill (as well as a Sprouts) in the same strip mall. If you don't know where Longbow Pkwy is and are in the small percentage of people that doesn't use a GPS app, it's one block south of the Recker exit off the 202. (15-20 minutes east of the 101) read more

So fun! We brought some of the grand children here to see Frozen 2 and we were very pleasantly surprised at the experience. We were a little bit late so we were able to order food in the lobby and then go find our seats. We found our seats and were pleasantly surprised to have power recliners with a tray that swung over our laps. A server brought the food to us and it is actually good. The chicken tenders were good and the French fries were tasty. The girls loved the pizza and my friend really enjoyed his chicken sandwich. A very nice surprise as we were extremely comfortable to watch the movie. I found the restrooms to a be very clean. We played some of the arcade games after and watched some people who are having a good time bowling. It was an all around excellent experience and one that we hope to repeat the next time we visit the grandchildren Arizona read more

We went here on Christmas Day and found this to be a fun looking place. The theater we watched our movie in was very nice and the seats extremely comfortable. Every staff person we engaged with was warm and friendly. We ordered food from the grill and it was delivered not too long after the movie started. Unfortunately, the theater was so dark we couldn't see what we were eating; maybe I would have noticed the long hair in my slider before I bit into it. My husband ordered a panini which we think resulted in food poisoning later that night. Hence, my mixed review. read more

Dec 31, 2019 My wife and I decided to attend a movie on NYE which started at 9:25 pm. Our usual location for Fat Cats is the Gilbert location. They were closed after about 8pm for a private event so we decided to go checkout the new Mesa location. The Mesa location is a massive setup compared to the Gilbert one. We had purchased our tickets online already and picked them up at the automated kiosk near the main doors. The process went smoothly without any issues. Their main concession and ticket area is as you walk through the main doors. The menu on the board does not display their full offerings but apparently their specials or most popular. Be sure to grab the paper menu for a full listing of options. Some of the items on the menu were cheeseburger, pizza with multiple topping options, nachos, pretzels, chicken tenders, a chicken sandwich, sliders, fried zuchinni, fried pickles, french fries... I ordered a cheeseburger combo, some nachos, and a large pepperoni pizza which would be brought to our seats. We arrived early enough so that the person bringing the food wouldn't arrive and bother others while the actual main feature was playing. The pizza arrived in about 15 minutes, and the cheeseburger about 5 minutes later. Everything was correct for what they brought us. The pizza has a decent flavor, but nothing terribly special. The hamburger on the other hand was actually quite good and it surprised me. All the tomato, lettuce, onion were fresh, the bun was nice and soft, and the burger itself had a crispness to only the edges which enhanced the experience quite a bit. The burger was cooked to done, and was warm, and tender. The seats at the Mesa location in theater 5 each have a food tray attached to each seat with a cup holder, and the top of the tray has the seat number. Freaking Bravo on the seat number on the tray Fat Cats! Your other location and most cinemas I go to the seat numbers are on the front of the chair and normally not clearly labeled as to which seat you are in. This has been an issue quite a few times when you have to inform people they are in the wrong seat. Everyone has to stand up and push down a seat to be in their correct seat. Then 7 out of 10 times they swear they are positively in the right seat. You then have to somehow politely tell them they are incorrect... The setup in Theater 5 was really nice. Reclining chairs, no heat. Excellent lighting setup for walking around without stumbling. We didn't go checkout the gaming area as when we left the movie at 11:49 pm it was kind of chaos for the new years buildup. I highly recommend this location, and it might now be our go to Fat Cats over the Gilbert one. read more

We've been going to this location since it opened, but the last two visits have made me never want to come back. Purchased tickets for a movie online and arrived a little early to get popcorn. The lines for the front concessions/tickets are poorly managed. There is no straight line to an employee-you just hope that the employees are paying attention to get the "right" next person. Never happens. We ordered the jumbo popcorn combo with two large drinks and upgraded to large icees. Both icees were clearly in different sized cups as the employee tried to tell us they were the same. We got in to the movie (late now) and my sons recliner seat was broken. Then we realized we were given a large popcorn not jumbo. Just not worth all the hassles anymore. This was just our latest experience. Do better. read more

FINGERNAIL IN MY PIZZA!!!!! Disgusting, I came here with my family to watch a movie today 06/23/2021 they brought our pizza to our seat in the middle of the movie. We started eating and I crunched down on something hard. I took it out of my mouth shined a light and found a PINK FINGERNAIL WITH A BLACK SYMBOL on it. LOVE FAT CATS in MESA, ARIZONA !!!! This was my Husband and My 2nd time to come to FAT CATS in MESA, AZ. Our Grandson has a School Break in October, so, we come in from Minnesota to spend some time to bring him here. Everything is under one roof. Bryson helped out in the Arcade without us even asking....he just happen to notice that our Grandson was struggling with his card and came over Immediately to help him. Mattie is who was working the Movie Counter was So Enjoyable and Upbeat. Marcus was at the Bowling Counter, he was Very Helpful, and took all the time we needed to Bowl. Worst experience in a long time. When we first got there we ordered a cazookie and a chicken strip kids meal. We were brought a pizza and a brownie! I had no idea my daughter didn't order pizza and she didn't say anything till later. The rude server tossed the brownie on the table with a thud and said, We're out of cookies but this is the same thing. No its not! It was also extremely hot inside and the theater was filthy. Love this place! We live a few miles away and come ALL the time, the Gold Cat membership is amazing as well. The staff is always nice, but Ginger is our favorite and always goes above and beyond.
