I have found my new, go-to lounge in Orlando. I went on a Thursday night and missed the live music,…read morebut the vibes were still Viking. I was sexy in every way, from the decor to the glassware, to the cigar corner. Every inch of the place was a vibe. Go see Manny, the bartender. His service was unmatched. He made me a Coconut Passionfruit Margarita with a Tajin rim. When I tell you that's THE BEST margarita I've ever had, I mean it. The waitress took one of our party's order wrong and he personally came over, made it right, and was our best friend the rest of the night. We got a yummy charcuterie board to soak up some of the alcohol. Highly recommend that too. The last thing I'll say is that even though we missed the live music, they were still playing the artist's music over the speakers. It's great to see them continue to support local talent because I immediately looked up the person and downloaded their music all because the establishment didn't stop supporting him after he stopped singing. It shows how deep they want to grow roots in the community. Love it and I'm absolutely going back.

Looking at the menu I was bit surprised they did not have more signature drinks on the menu, mainly mojitos, but then realized this is a Latin speakeasy, with music playing to match. Once I had my coconut mojito I was very pleased. They really do know how to make them. They also have a full bar so anything you want they can make, The bartender and servers were super nice and friendly, and they worked quick to get all drinks out. They also had some food, that looked delicious, and hope I get the chance to come back to try some. After seating in the lounge/ speakeasy area for a while, we moved to the bar for a last drink. The bartender said Espresso Martinis were her specialty so we order those. She was not lying, one of the best we've had.

Sakeba Asian Pub & Grill - Awesome sushi combo special that we ordered after 9 PM for a happy hour special.

Great price for a quality lunch special! I ordered the teriyaki chicken skewers accompanied by…read morefried rice, a spring roll, and carrot ribbons. Chicken tasted fresh and flavorful with the sauce, although it could've used more char. I appreciate the fried rice used leftover sushi rice and veggies from the day prior. I felt welcome and comfortable throughout my visit. My host was most perceptive by seating me near the back facing a tv playing 80s music videos. It was a pleasure to watch those music videos while I ate my food, and rare to find a place playing something other than sports on every screen (other screens were playing sports).

But every visit, the biggest issue has been the service. The servers come across genuinely rude and seem way more focused on their regular patrons while everyone else gets treated like an afterthought. It creates a really unwelcoming atmosphere that takes away from the experience. They also respond cruelly. And if there's a game on, good luck. The place gets insanely loud, people are yelling across the restaurant, and the patrons can be obnoxious enough that it's hard to even enjoy dinner or hold a conversation. The sushi is solid enough if you're already nearby, but definitely not the sushi vibe I look for.

I came down to Orlando for a quick getaway with friends and stayed at the Meliá Celebration…read moreOrlando. The Wilson is inside the main building of the hotel. The location was incredibly convenient since most surrounding restaurants are Disney World spots, other dining options were at least 20 minutes away. Without a rental car and Ubering everywhere, being able to just head downstairs for a drink and a bite was a lifesaver. The truffle fries with Parmesan were my favorite. I also ordered the chicken quesadillas were decent, but coming from Houston (where, let's be honest, the food scene is unmatched), it's hard not to compare. They just weren't that buttery, toasted quesadilla I'm used to. The green salsa had an unusual texture, almost like applesauce, which was a little off-putting. The sour cream was fine, and I actually enjoyed the pickled onions as a nice touch. The margaritas were good! They offer several flavor additions like coconut and mango that work as sweeteners, so if you prefer a sweeter margarita I would definitely suggest adding one. Ordering it straight is on the bitter side, so the flavors are a nice way to customize your drink. Overall, the ambience and service were great, and the food is solid. Gratuity is included and my bill was around $60.

Classic pub food. For our mains we had two specials, the crispy fish sandwich and the quesadilla. Both were good. I particularly liked the salad that came with the sandwich (fries were another option). There is also an extensive pizza menu (served until late) and a selection of pastas and burgers. Nicole was a great server. In addition, everyone we encountered from the hotel front desk to the restaurant hostess, to the food runners was very friendly. A nice experience.

The Rum Bar featuring Bacardi serves fun tiki drinks, classic cocktails, and Cuban-inspired bites. We went just for drinks after we had dinner at another restaurant inside the hotel, and it was the perfect nightcap. The mixologists were knowledgeable and very accommodating. If you don't know what to order, they can give you great suggestions based on your preferences or even whip ya up something custom. I loved the lounge seating and decor, and you can even play Dominoes while you sip & relax. We really enjoyed their take on a flaming Mai Tai and the Bee's Knees. You know I unashamedly asked for my drink to be served in the cute flamingo cup, haha. I love their fun mugs and if you're with a group, the communal sharing cocktails like the Scorpion Bowl look amazing!

You selected the menu from the bar area and then placed your order with the bartender. We ordered the Askur Gimlet ($19.50) and the Sparkling Hibiscus ($18.50) cocktails. My friend enjoyed her gimlet, and my hibiscus drink was nice, but a little sweet for me. The hibiscus flower in the glass was edible, which was cool to experience. Overall, nice place for a cocktail, but the prices are high and the drinks were not that strong. I know this is a Disney resort and you pay extra for the environment, but I expected a little more for $20+ drinks (with tax and tip) and minimal service. However, it's a quaint spot to stop in for the experience.
