could not order on-line- technical challenge. I called the Smyrna location and ordered the little mo burger, without some toppings, and the guy said, 'are you calling for the Smyrna location?" I did not chuckle although wanted to.......did not ask my name and he hung up the phone. The place was packed when I arrived; employees sitting around relaxing. It's conflicting to recommend this place for two reasons. However, I will let you decide based on what you read. To start off, the burger prices are low for the smoking of food you get. I ordered a double burger and I couldn't finish it. The burger tasted very good. If you've been to Texas, this burger slightly reminded me of Whataburger's hamburgers in terms of taste. I was given the choice between regular or spiced fries. I went with the spiced fries and they tasted between the Long John Silvers and Rally's/Checkers fries. Overall, the food was delicious and satisfying. This next part, however, is where it gets hard to recommend the restaurant to just anyone. As I walked in, I was greeted to two employees who were joking around. They were young, possible high school seniors or recent graduates. One wasn't wearing a mask and the other had a mask on but it was fully under her chin. Without masks, they approached the customer ahead of me to give her the food she was there to pick up. You could tell that customer felt uncomfortable getting the food from unmasked employees, but she didn't say anything about it. I would have left if not for a friend who was set on eating here. I'm my order was handled by an older woman who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food options. She wasn't wearing a mask either. Behind her, I could see employees in the kitchen engage in physical contact like slapping of the hands and more joking around without gloves and masks. This rating of 4 is based on me judging this restaurant through a greasy spoon lens. After all, if you are wanting a burger and fries, I doubt if you care that much about the friendliness of the person taking the order or the cleanliness of the restaurant. I got the half pound burger with everything and it was so large that it was impossible to eat without making a mess. I would not try to eat that huge burger while driving. I just cannot imagine how large the full one pound burger would be. I also thought the sweet potato fries were the best I have ever tasted. The lady at the front desk was not the most friendly and the restaurant and restrooms were not clean, however, the fries and burger were very good. read more

Came here on Monday and got 2 fat mo's burger combo and deep fried pickles. The burgers are huge but lack any flavor. Fried pickels were just ok. The fried pickles weren't good at all they had way to much breading on them and had no flavor do to all the breading. Price of food is juay ok for the portions. I was in FatMoes on Sunday evening. The Sam Ridley location. I work nights not far from there so I try to get food there as often as I can, I usually get the catfish sandwich cut in half and have recently have added the Fat Moe burger to my routine. Anyway, as i was picking up my order, the lady behind the counter was stating to another employee about a unfavorable google review. She said' If they have anything nice to say they dont write, only bad". Thats true but i am changing that today. Their food is delicious, fair priced and they are friendly (in their own way) Once i was later picking up my food and they offered to remake it. Listen I was happy to know someone sells Turkey burgers near me! I'm not dissatisfied with the burger overall. It was a pattie so a little texture adjustment required. But them toppings onion & lettuce cut right, fresh tomatoes, not to crunchy pickles, & grilled bun was bumping!!! I'm glad it was done, just a little bit too well done. I'm giving 3&1/2 because I called in my order 15-20 minutes ahead and 1 car was in driveway however I still had a 10-12 minute wait around noon. We ordered a catfish sandwich and nashville hot chicken sandwich. The catfish was cooked at too high of a temperature because the ends were completely too hard and the outsided was hard but the inside of the fat part of the fish was mushy, and it didn't have any seasoning and was bland, it was disgusting. The nashville hot chicken was a frozen breaded chicken patty with no seasoning or hot sauce of any kind, just a breaded chicken sandwich with mayo, lettuce, tomato and pickle. I called and was told that's how the fish comes and the customers love it, okay, if you like fish that's somehow crusty and mushy then this is your place. Normally Fat Mo's does not disappoint, but the latest visit we just experienced was very disappointing. The fries had no seasoning,extremely soggy, an inch thick tomato, lettuce extremely SOGGY! The bun was extremely SOGGY.We ordered bacon on one burger, and there was no bacon.The nashville hot chicken came with two little pre-cooked chicken pattie's with an extremely large bun. The onion on the burger was just DISAPPOINTING ! extremely thick pieces. The lady we spoke to on the phone was nice and offered to "remake the food if we brought it back" after traveling 20 minutes to get the food and wait almost 30 minutes just to even get the food handed to us. A recent visit to Smyrna to visit our one of our son's who lives in the area found us dining at Mo's. While it is not anyplace would have chosen our son insisted it was the greatest place ever, so if he wrote the review it would probably have 5 Stars where I struggle with two. Food: The food was plentiful for the price but my Cheesesteak was greasy and overdone. The highlight of my meal was the fries, which were seasoned and cooked very well. My wife got a chicken Sandwich and also said it was greasy and very dry and overcooked for her liking. she also did enjoy the fries and left most of her sandwich. Our son had the burger, which was very big and he said it was the best burger he ever had. Cleanliness: This is where Mo's needs the most attention. It was not dirty, but rather filthy is the only word to describe this place. The floors were sticky and the tables were horrible. Sticky and dirty. I don't think this place has seen a clean mop or been cleaned since it opened. In all honesty, the filth of the inside probably held a huge bearing on our thoughts of the food. If the customer facing areas were this horrible then we can only imagine what the behind the scenes were like. read more

It turns out Mo really isn't that fat, which is surprising considering the menu here. You can get a 1/2 lb burger anywhere, how about a 1 1/2 lb triple decker loaded with bacon, cheese, and onion on a thoroughly overwhelmed sesame seed bun! You can certainly go big at Mo's, but even if you have a more moderate appetite, rest assured the quality is as good or better than the quantity. This location on Sam Ridley is run by the original owners/founders of Fat Mo's... Mo and his wife. They are typically there working, and are clearly proud owners and take care of each customer that walks in the door. Very friendly service. They have a menu mostly of burgers, but also hot dogs and gyros. They have great shakes too! But back to that burger. I didn't tackle the 1 1/2 pounder, but I can say the 1/2 pounder is delicious. It is a nice thick patty, but the meat isn't dried out at all. The topping are fresh, and I recommend the spicy/seasoned fries. The quantities are very good and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant itself is nothing to write home about. It's pretty clean and very simple. But you don't come here for the atmosphere. You go to Mo's for a great burger and truly friendly service. Friend told us that it was a chain restaurant, but this location was one of the only dine-in in the area. The place looked filthy - sticky chairs, tables, dirty floors. I was apprehensive driving up because the parking lot was dirty, and so was the trash can outside. The restroom was a bit rundown and didn't give a clean impression. The nozzles of the ketchup dispensers had a lot of gunk on them. The dining room was clean overall. The woman behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. We had the 1/2 pound and 1/4 pound cheeseburgers. They were good, not great as I expected. You get a whole lot of fries -- the seasoned fries were good. The 1/2 pound burger comes with a cup of soda so big I could raise koi in it. It wouldn't fit in my car's cup holder, so I couldn't bring the rest of my drink with me. The place itself ( the dining area ) to sit and eat in is disgusting .... the chair legs are covered with mold. Sticky substance on the tables. The floor and its baseboards need more than a daily washing .... it needs a good scrubbing .... filthy. The heating/air conditioning unit is gross with dirt and mold. No idea of the condition of the kitchen but the light haze coming from the back where the kitchen is located leaves one wondering on the ventilation .... needless to say we did not stay to order anything to eat. Kids love this place. The kids and I can get our bellys FULL for about 14 bucks. The Mo burgers are so good and they are BIG, BIG may be an understatement. Their seasoned fries are really good too. Fountain drinks taste like fountain drinks. They have a drive thru, sit down, or to go options. We usually sit down and eat because we are always on the go and this burger YOU DO NOT want to eat WHILE DRIVING! You are asking for burger in your lap not your mouth but they are so delish.
